  • Patent number: 6616760
Abstract: The present invention is a film forming unit for discharging a coating solution from a coating solution discharge nozzle toward a substrate to form a layer on a surface of the substrate, which has a supply flow path for supplying a cleaning fluid to a discharge flow path continuing to a discharging port of the coating solution discharge nozzle. When the cleaning fluid is positively supplied directly to the discharge flow path of the coating solution discharge nozzle, the supply pressure of the cleaning fluid as well as the capability of cleaning is added. Therefore, further effective cleaning is attained in compare with the conventional case where a coating solution discharge nozzle is simply dipped into a cleaning fluid. In consequence, even when the discharging port of the nozzle is minute, it is possible to perfectly remove the contamination. This allows the discharge pressure to remain constant so as to form a uniform coating layer on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6616767
Abstract: The present invention provides techniques for coupling radio-frequency (RF) power to a metal plate in a ceramic pedestal. Perforations in the metal plate allow ceramic-to-ceramic bonding through the metal plate. The power from an RF power feed is distributed to the perforated metal plate via several electrodes that are spaced away from the centerline of the RF power feed, thus splitting power distribution. A ceramic bonding disk between the metal plate and the RF power feed provides mechanical support for the metal plate and a ceramic body to bond to through the perforations, thus reducing cracking of the metal plate and the surrounding ceramic material.

  • Patent number: 6616789
Abstract: The present invention provides a sound insulating structure cover panel that compliments the sound attenuation material. The method of manufacturing the panel includes the steps of providing a laminated blank having an interior face which will be observable from the passenger compartment. The side opposite the interior face of the blank has a generally non-permeable polymeric layer adjacent to a primary backing and a secondary backing layer overlying the polymeric layer. In the preferred process, the previously described blank is elevated to a desired temperature and positioned in a closed forming mold such that the perimeter of the blank is retained in a fixed position. The forming mold is closed with a controlled pressure that is sufficient to expand the blank, conform it to the mold and render a panel having a desired permeability.

Abstract: A method for producing integral capacitance components for inclusion within printed circuit boards. Hydrothermally prepared nanopowders permit the fabrication of a very thin dielectric layers that offer increased dielectric constants and are readily penetrated by microvias. Disclosed is a method of preparing a slurry or suspension of a hydrothermally prepared nanopowder and solvent. A suitable bonding material, such as a polymer is mixed with the nanopowder slurry, to generate a composite mixture which is formed into a dielectric layer. The dielectric layer may be placed upon a conductive layer prior to curing, or conductive layers may be applied upon a cured dielectric layer, either by lamination or by metallization processes, such as vapor deposition or sputtering.

  • Patent number: 6616795
Abstract: A heat sealing jaw (10), particularly for use in a form-fill-seal machine for the sealing of plastics bags incorporating a zipper seal, comprises a plurality of spaced heat sealing wires (12) in its active surface and a plurality of pressure switches (13) underlying the wires. When the jaw is moved into contact with the zipper and an overlying host material the zipper imparts pressure to a switch or switches and this effects heating of a predetermined wire or wires to create the seal at the correct position. Thus, the seal is made at the correct position even if the position of the zipper on the host material should change. A pair of aligned jaws (10) are preferably used, one on each side of the host material.
