  • Patent number: RE38255
Abstract: A process which provides electronic access to pre-paid funds for cash or payment for goods and services. A card is issued to a customer with a value selectable by the customer. The card has a magnetic stripe with an encoded card number including a bank identification number (BIN) and an account number. The central card processor establishes a zero balance database including the card numbers, but with blank fields for the customer data and the value of the account. When a customer purchases a card, the sales agent transmits to the central database computer which fills in the blanks in the database, activating the account, and transmits an acknowledgement signal back to the sales agent. The customer can immediately use the card in ATM or other remote terminals to acquire cash or purchase goods and services. The customer inputs a PIN number which is provided with the card, or a customer selected alternative PIN number.

  • Patent number: 6622312
Abstract: Elastic and/or decorative trim is attached along an edge of a fabric body of a garment without sewing. The trim comprises a textile material containing fibers of thermoplastic material. The fabric edge to which the trim is attached can be any type of fabric, not necessarily containing any thermoplastic fibers. The trim is attached by wrapping the trim around the fabric edge so that the edge is sandwiched between two opposing portions of the trim, and then localized regions of the trim are heated, preferably ultrasonically, to cause the thermoplastic material in the trim to become plastic and flow together from the opposing portions, thus penetrating through the fabric edge. The thermoplastic material is then allowed to cool and solidify, thereby attaching the trim to the fabric edge. Also disclosed are garments having ultrasonically formed joints between two or more fabric panels.

  • Patent number: 6622315
Abstract: A toilet bowl deodorizing, disinfecting and washing apparatus. In one variation, the apparatus includes a flexible enclosure that contains a bellows, a high-pressure reservoir, a liquid reservoir, and a plurality of nozzles. The bellows, liquid reservoir, and nozzles are selectively placed in fluid communication with the high-pressure reservoir. In use, the flexible enclosure is disposed beneath a toilet seat (or is itself a toilet seat). Deodorizing/disinfecting/washing liquid, which is contained in the liquid reservoir, is admitted to the high-pressure reservoir. When a person sits on the flexible enclosure, the bellows compresses air that is admitted to the high-pressure reservoir, thereby pressurizing the deodorizing/disinfecting/washing liquid that is contained therein. As the person gets off the flexible enclosure, the high-pressure reservoir is connected to the nozzles such that pressurized deodorizing/disinfecting/washing liquid is dispensed.

Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention a pneumatic-operated toothbrush incorporates a pump that a user may utilize to pump are into and pressurize air in a reservoir. The reservoir is attached to a pneumatic motor, which utilizes the pressurized air inside the reservoir to rotate a drive shaft. Attached to the end of the drive shaft is a plurality of bristles that rotate when the drive shaft is rotating. The motor will continue to rotate the bristles as long as the pressure inside the reservoir is sufficient enough to force the air into the pneumatic motor. When the motor stops rotating the bristles, the user can pump air back inside the reservoir for continued use. It is important to note that the pneumatic toothbrush for the present invention is a self-contained device, meaning that the reservoir, motor and pump are incorporated into a single toothbrush. In addition the present invention does not use batteries or other electrical elements to power the motor.

Abstract: An improvement is disclosed in a brush cleaning apparatus for cleaning a major surface of a wafer and including wafer guide wheels for transporting the wafer. The improvement includes a polish pad material disposed on a circumference of the guide wheels. The polish pad material is a material used in chemical-mechanical polishing of the wafer. The polish pad material contacts an edge portion of the wafer during cleaning thereof, thereby removing contaminants from the edge portion of the wafer, so that edge cleaning is performed in situ in addition to the brush cleaning of the major surface of the wafer.

  • Patent number: 6622336
Abstract: A rotary brush assembly that is mounted to a traction vehicle, such as a skid steer type vehicle. The brush assembly is allowed to move relative to the traction vehicle within three degrees of freedom including yaw, roll, and up and down linear motion. The degrees of freedom reduce brush wear and facilitate more effective cleaning over uneven surfaces. Up and down linear motion is accommodated by a linear sliding joint. The sliding joint is further equipped with markings that indicate to the operator where, in the range of up and down motion, the brush is located. The brush assembly is also equipped with a mounting mechanism that translates motion of a skid steered vehicle implement arm joint into yaw motion of the brush. This eliminates the need for additional hydraulic cylinders or controls to actuate yaw motion.

Abstract: A wiper blade for a car comprises a seat part, a moisture absorptive part, and a sweep part. The seat part is an elongated strip made of non-absorptive material and provides a cross section and a length thereof corresponding to a wiper frame on the car for joining with the wiper frame. The moisture absorptive part is made of water absorbable material and has a length and a width thereof corresponding to the seat part for joining with the seat part. The sweep part is an elongated strip with a gap and has a size corresponding to the absorptive part for joining with the absorptive part. The moisture absorptive part can keep the sprayed water for next wipe as soon as the sweep part removes the foreign substances on a windshield of the car.

Abstract: A paint tray that can be used in the vertical as well as horizontal position to hold paint for use with a roller. Formed longitudinally inside the tray is an inclined bottom surface designed to return excess paint to the basin when the paint tray is disposed horizontally. Formed on the inclined surfaces is a plurality of parallel raised contact surfaces that provides a directional contact surface used to remove excess paint from the roller and return the excess paint to the basin. The length of the inclined surface is sufficient to create freeboard for use in the vertical position without risk of spillage. The paint tray is equipped with a pair of legs attached to its distal end that allows the paint tray to rest vertically on the rung(s) of a ladder or step(s) of a stepladder, or horizontally on the ladder shelf as traditional paint trays. Aligned longitudinally on the distal end of the paint tray is a rigid handle for easy transport of the paint tray in the vertical position.
