Abstract: A guide for making non-linear patterns using a long arm quilting machine is used to form a variety of different non-linear stitching patterns in a quilt or other workpiece. The mechanism includes a crossmember which locks adjustably between the fixed tracks of a conventional quilting machine bed or table, and an arm adjustably secured to the crossmember. The arm is slotted to provide both radial and linear adjustment relative to the crossmember. The guide attachment end of the arm provides for the selective attachment of any of a series of different templates thereto. The templates include guide slots or passages therein, with a guide pin or stylus engaging the template slots or passages. The stylus is in turn affixed to the sewing machine, causing the machine to form a stitching pattern according to the specific pattern of the selected template as the stylus travels in the selected slot or passage.

Abstract: The machine is an index spraying machine. The machine has five different stations. The first station is the load/unload station. At this station, work pieces are unloaded after they have been sprayed and new work pieces to be sprayed are loaded on. New pieces then move into the pre-heat station tunnel. A third station is the spraying area. In this area, the work pieces are sprayed. After being sprayed, the work pieces move in the area where they are heated to flash off the volatile fumes. Then they move to the fifth work station where they are cooled and finally they move back into the load/unload station. The spraying area in this machine is sealed to meet NEMA 7 standards. The air capture system cascades the air, thus lowering the air volume that passes through the thermal oxidizer.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for safer and more effective deep trans-cervical intra-uterine artificial insemination (AI) is provided. Such a deep AI catheter causes minimal discomfort and risk of trauma, and does not require the services of a highly trained AI professional. First, a catheter is inserted into the cervical tract of the animal. A membrane, initially positioned inside a tube section of the catheter, is then extended from an opening in the tube and into the tract under pressure. The membrane extends into the tract without friction thereby reducing the discomfort and the risk of trauma or injury to the animal. When the membrane is fully extended into the tract, pressure causes the tip of the membrane to open thereby releasing the AI fluid and depositing the genetic material suspended in the fluid into the reproductive tract. Deployment of the membrane is facilitated by tapering its wall thickness towards its tip.

The engine may include eight cylinders and sixteen pistons disposed in a 360 degree pattern every 45 degrees around the crankshaft. The cylinders may be positioned substantially parallel to the crankshaft resulting in a relatively constant and optimal power stroke (e.g., at 90 degrees), thereby producing higher torque and horsepower compared to combustion engines with varying power stroke angles. Each cylinder may have two opposing pistons. Specifically, each cylinder may include two pistons that move in opposite directions during the power stroke, thereby producing a simultaneous thrust at two different points, which is applied to the crankshaft on every power stroke.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine is provided with a decompressing mechanism (D) including: a pin (71) supported so as to be turnable on a camshaft (15); a flyweight(81) supported for turning relative to the camshaft (15) by the pin (71) on the camshaft (15); and a decompression cam (82) capable of operating together with the flyweight (81) to apply valve opening force to the engine valve(43). The pin (71) is inserted in holes (84) formed in the flyweight (81) so as to be turnable. A spring washer (72) restrains the pin (71)and the flyweight (81) from movement relative to each other, so that generation of rattling noise due to collision between the pin (71) and the flyweight (81) can be prevented or controlled.

Abstract: A cylinder head and a four-stroke and two-valve spark-ignition internal combustion engine spark-ignition internal combustion engine are provided which allows for enhancing the output and the rotational speed of the engine by increasing the flame propagation rate of the burning air-fuel mixture. As the piston 4 moves up toward the top dead center, the air-fuel mixture within the squish area 14 is inducted along the squish guide groove 15 toward the ignition electrode 7a of the ignition plug 7 and is then ignited by the ignition electrode 7a when the piston 4 approaches the top dead center. When the mixture is ignited by the ignition electrode 7a, there is a flow of the air-fuel mixture around the ignition electrode 7a (the ignition plug aperture 12) inducted by the squish guide groove 15 so as to move toward the center of the combustion chamber, so that the flame propagation rate within the combustion chamber may be enhanced as the ignition is effected on such moving air-fuel mixture.

A manifold deck is formed with the valving channels and ports therein for connecting to the hydraulic circuits. A gasket is formed with solenoid valve mounting bosses and valving passages as a unitary member and is retained on the manifold deck by a retaining plate preferably stamped from sheet stock with clearance holes received over the valve mounting bosses and secured to the manifold deck over the gasket for sealing the gasket thereon. The valves are inserted in the bosses and retained by a preferably stamped bracket and the bracket, retaining plate and gasket secured to the manifold deck by common fasteners. A common electrical lead frame is received over the valve terminals for making electrical connection to the valves.

Abstract: An engine at least has a slide block allocated around or at a lateral side of a round gas wheel. The central portion of the gas wheel is fixedly mounted on a main axle; the gas wheel outputs kinetic force during rotating, and is provided peripherally with equidistantly arranged inverted triangular pistons; the inner side of the slide block has correspondingly an intake chamber and a combustion chamber opposite to pistons on the gas wheel to form quasi cylinders. The slide block has on its outer surface an arciform slide way forming an inclined angle &thgr; with the contrary direction of rotation of the gas wheel and being supported by pulleys provided on a supporting rack; a spring and a screw are provided at the opening end of the inclined angle &thgr; for adjusting the basic micro pressure between the slide block and the gas wheel to prevent the slide block from sliding off along the normal rotating direction.
