Abstract: A new and distinct hybrid variety Hibiscus moscheutos cultivar, particularly distinguished by having flowers of from ten to twelve inches in diameter that are white with deep pink (Red-Purple Group 67A) venation concentrated at the outer margins of each petal, with deep pink eye (Red-Purple Group 67C). The length of the blooming cycle is about four to five weeks. The flowers, which have completely overlapping petals, retain their flat shape for two full days, except when temperatures are exceptionally warm. Distinguishing characteristics are constant and stable in asexually reproduced plants.
Abstract: A new and distinct hybrid variety Hibiscus moscheutos cultivar, particularly distinguished by having flowers of from ten to twelve inches in diameter that are pale pink (Red-Purple Group 69D) with deeper pink (Red-Purple Group 74C) on edges of petal margins and mottled over the petal intensifying slightly toward the center, with deeper red eye (Red-Purple Group 60A). The length of the blooming cycle is about four to five weeks. The flowers, which have completely overlapping petals, retain their flat shape for two full days, except when temperatures are exceptionally warm. Distinguishing characteristics are constant and stable in asexually reproduced plants.
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of apple tree, characterized by an unusually shiny yellow ground color and a glossy pink-red overcolor, maturing about 5 days later than ‘Red Delicious’, with crisp, juicy flesh capable of both dessert and culinary use.
Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Poinsettia plant named ‘Duepremwi’, characterized by its inflorescences with pale yellow-colored flower bracts; dark green-colored leaves; uniform and rounded plant habit; freely branching habit; early flowering habit; and excellent post-production longevity.
Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Osteospermum plant named ‘Aknik’, characterized by its uniformly mounded plant habit; freely branching growth habit; freely flowering habit; dark green-colored foliage; and inflorescences with spoon-shaped purple-colored ray florets.
Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of dwarf winter hardy Lagerstroemia plant named ‘Coral Filli’ is the result of a unique hybridization. This new and distinct cultivar is characterized primarily as to novelty by its extreme cold hardiness to Zone 4, its numerous sturdy bright coral-pink blooms, its compact spreading performance with heavy branching, its vigorous and uniform growth habit, and its floriferous nature form midsummer until frost.
Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Lantana plant named ‘Robmornorg’, characterized by its outwardly spreading, recumbent and mounding plant habit; densely foliated, full and bushy appearance; freely flowering habit; and flowers that are initially yellow, then becoming orange and eventually red in color.
Abstract: A Deodar Cedar tree named ‘CDMTF2’ having a rapid growth rate, dense branching and a large root system and which also is capable of being reproduced reliably using vegetative cuttings.
Abstract: A new and distinct kiwi plant of the species Actinidia arguta (Sieb & Zucc.) Planch. ex Miq. var. arguta is described. The variety results from a controlled pollination using a female A. arguta selection AA05_01 of unknown parentage and a male A. arguta selection AA13._0l of unknown parentage. Both named parents (AA05_01 and AA 13_01) are unpatented. The new variety is distinguished by its green hairless, edible skin, small fruit size, oblong shape and sweet aromatic taste.

Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Prunus mahaleb is provided. The new cultivar is particularly well suited for serving as an understock during cherry production. A number of advantages are provided when compared to the standard Mahaleb rootstock. The cultivar is readily amenable to vegetative propagation (e.g., by the use of softwood cuttings), and exhibits improved resistance to Phytophthora spp. When used with a ‘Bing’ cherry scion, increased yields have been observed. The new cultivar when grown without use as an understock forms a tree that is intermediate in size and forms more fine wood when compared to the ‘UCMH 56’ and ‘UCMH 59’ cultivars that were products of the same research program.

Abstract: A molded plastic ramp is made in a one-step molding process. The ramp includes reinforced side and rear walls and a smooth radiused ramp surface. The ramp includes laterally extending side and rear supports that engage a ground surface and the forward portion of the ramp surface extends forward of the forward extent of the side supports.
Abstract: A brake apparatus has a good brake operation feel provided by a combination of a link mechanism and a brake booster. The link mechanism changes a lever ratio so that the lever ratio is gradually decreased as a pedal stroke is increased after the pedal stroke reaches a predetermined point. The brake booster increases a rate of increase of an output force so that the rate of increase is increased as an input force is increased. A brake characteristic of the brake apparatus as a whole exhibits a linear relationship relative to the deceleration of the vehicle, the brake characteristic being defined as an inclination of the deceleration against the pressing force input to the link mechanism. One of the link mechanism and the brake booster may be used alone in a brake apparatus to provide their respective effect to a brake apparatus.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for packaging and dispensing substances in the form of a liquid, a gel, or a paste form, the device comprising a receptacle having a plurality of compartments for separately storing at least two substances, each compartment having an outlet for the substance, the device further comprising fixing means for fixing a rotary dispensing head on the receptacle to enable the substance contained in a selected compartment corresponding to a predetermined angular position of the head to be dispensed. Said dispensing head has a single dispensing channel provided at its outlet end with a non-return valve suitable for opening under the effect of thrust from upstream substance, and it is shaped to establish selective communication between the outlet of said selected compartment and said dispensing channel and/or to exert selective action on means for extracting substance and associated with said selected compartment.
Abstract: Compounds of formula (I) and (II)
wherein the R, R1, R2, R3 and R4 groups have the meanings defined in the disclosure, are useful chelants for metal ions. The complexes of compounds (I) and (II) with paramagnetic ions are useful as contrast agents for M.R.I. imaging.
Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions and methods for inhibiting and reversing nonenzymatic cross-linking (protein aging). Accordingly, a composition is disclosed which comprises a thiazolium compound capable of inhibiting, and to some extent reversing, the formation of advanced glycosylation endproducts of target proteins by reacting with the carbonyl moiety of the early glycosylation product of such target proteins formed by their initial glycosylation. The method comprises contacting the target protein with the composition. Both industrial and therapeutic applications for the invention are envisioned, as food spoilage and animal protein aging can be treated. A novel immunoassay for detection of the reversal of the nonenzymatic crosslinking is also disclosed.
