Publication number: 20030230431Abstract: Methods of consolidating formations or forming chemical casing or both while drilling are provided. One method of the invention comprises drilling a well bore with a drilling fluid comprised of water, a polymeric cationic catalyst which is adsorbed on weak zones or formations formed of unconsolidated clays, shale, sand stone and the like, a water soluble or dispersible polymer which is cross-linked by a thermoset resin and causes the resin to be hard and tough when cured, a particulate curable solid thermoset resin, a water soluble thermoset resin, and a delayed dispersible acid catalyst for curing the solid and water soluble resins. The drilling fluid forms a filter cake on the walls of the well bore that cures and consolidates the unconsolidated weak zones and formations penetrated by the well bore so that sloughing is prevented and forms a hard and tough cross-linked chemical casing on the walls of the well bore.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 13, 2002Publication date: December 18, 2003Inventors: B. Publication number: 20030230432Abstract: A large diameter bore—in the range of 30 inches or more—is made through a geologic formation, such as the active surf zone and into the maritime zone. The drill head is provided with a mud powered motor (typically of the Moyno variety) which drives a hydraulic pump connected to a plurality of closed loop hydraulic circuits remotely controlled through electrical connection along the large diameter bore. One hydraulic circuit powers the rotating drill head; a second hydraulic circuit powers a mud and tailings evacuation pump; and a third hydraulic circuit articulates the drill head to provide direction. Mud exhausted from the mud motor is exhausted to the cutting head of the drill and evacuated along with dislodged cuttings through a pump in the drill head. The pump is individually controlled to pump at a rate, which assures a slight negative pressure in the required annulus about the drilled conduit, thus assuring that any leakage is from the surrounding soil into the annulus.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2003Publication date: December 18, 2003Inventor: Martin Cherrington

Publication number: 20030230439Abstract: A strategy controls alternate anti-vibration modes in a switchable powertrain mount using vehicle operational status sensors and pre-selected thresholds. The switchable mount modes can include engine idle and a default engine off/run. Publication number: 20030230472Abstract: A switch device and a method of manufacture are provided that includes providing two substrates. The two substrates collectively include a fluid conductor switch device structure and a trench surrounding the fluid conductor switch device structure. An inner seal material is deposed on one of the substrates and an outer seal material is deposited in the trench. The substrates are joined to one another using the inner seal material and a peripheral hermetic seal is formed between the substrates using the outer seal material.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2002Publication date: December 18, 2003Inventors: Marvin G. Publication number: 20030230473Abstract: An operation switch having an operation surface with a specified pattern printed thereon and covered with a soft-feeling layer of paint, which can obtain the increased durability of adhesion between the pattern-printed surface and the soft-feeling coat of paint by adopting a simple technical means and can withstand repeated finger-pressing operations for a long period of service life without stripping the soft-feeling layer from the pattern-printed surface. This is achieved by first printing a specified pattern on the operation substrate surface of the switch by using siliconeless ink or a two-component isocyanate setting type urethane ink and then covering the pattern-printed surface with a coat of a transparent or semitransparent soft paint or by first coating and then printing.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2003Publication date: December 18, 2003Applicants: Toyo Denso Kabushiki Kaisha, Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Naohiro Sakai, Tatsuya Itakura

Publication number: 20030230474Abstract: A sliding electrical switch (10) for use in a garment (32) has two spaced elongate flexible surfaces (16, 18), at least one electrical contact on each surface (22a, b, c, d, e, f), and a slider (20) slidable along the surfaces to cause electrical connection between the contacts. There may be a number of spaced contacts (22a, b, c, d, e, f), the slider (20) acting as a selector switch; or there may be two continuous spaced contacts (96, 98), movement of the slider (90) providing a variation in resistance. The slider can be a bead (20) running on cords (16, 18) attached to the edges of spaced pieces of fabric (14, 18); or a buckle (42) sliding on a strip (50); or a zip fastener traveller (66), adjacent teeth (64) of the zip being electrically connected (68); or a bead (90) running on lengths (82, 84) of flexible tubing with internally conductive strips (96, 98).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2003Publication date: December 18, 2003Inventors: George Marmaropoulos, David A. Publication number: 20030230475Abstract: First stopper face (7b) is provided on each of click teeth (7) of a click teeth portion 8 of a click mechanism (14) affording a click feeling during the rotation-operation of a rotary knob (11). Second stopper face (13b) is provided on a tooth portion (13) of a click piece (10). The first stopper face (7b) and the second stopper face (13b) cooperate to prevent the rotary knob (11) from rotating in a direction opposite to a direction indicated by an arrow A. Consequently, there is no need for providing a stopper as an additional component.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2003Publication date: December 18, 2003Applicant: KABUSHIKI KAISHA TOKAI RIKA DENKI SEISAKUSHOInventors: Takashi Koide, Isao Maeda

Publication number: 20030230477Abstract: The present invention is a high volume, wall-mountable air sanitation apparatus for disinfecting and removing VOCs from air with high energy UV light and ozone. The apparatus has a powerful fan and an elongated UV light source and target for use with the movement of a large volume of air. The target includes a mesh and a secondary target both comprising a target compound which creates hydro-peroxides, super oxide ions and hydroxyl radicals in the presence of water also for removing pollutants in the air.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2002Publication date: December 18, 2003Inventors: Ronald G. Publication number: 20030230479Abstract: A process to prepare stoichiometric-nanostructured materials comprising generating a plasma, forming an “active volume” through introduction of an oxidizing gas into the plasma, before the plasma is expanded into a field-free zone, either (1) in a region in close proximity to a zone of charge carrier generation, or (2) in a region of current conduction between field generating elements, including the surface of the field generation elements, and transferring energy from the plasma to a precursor material to form in the “active volume” at least one stoichiometric-nanostructured material and a vapor that may be condensed to form a stoichiometric-nanostructured material. The surface chemistry of the resulting nanostructured materials is substantially enhanced to yield dispersion stable materials with large zeta-potentials.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2003Publication date: December 18, 2003Inventors: Harry W.
