Abstract: The invention provides debris collection devices that include a debris contacting mechanism, a debris transport mechanism that is configured to receive debris moved by the debris contacting mechanism at an inlet and move such debris towards a debris storage compartment, and a filter and vacuum assembly. The filter and vacuum assembly includes an inlet disposed downstream of the inlet of the transport mechanism and upstream of the debris storage compartment, relative to the path of transported debris. In operation, the filter and vacuum assembly generate a primary air flow that draws the airborne particles into the inlet of the transport mechanism, along a path proximate to the transport mechanism, into the inlet of the filter and vacuum assembly and through a filter located within the filter and vacuum assembly without generating a substantial airflow through the storage compartment. Related debris collection and processing systems and methods also are provided.

Abstract: A vacuum cleaner attachment and method of use thereof provides an effective cleaning system for fungi and the like. A vacuum paddle extension enables the attachment to travel into narrow cracks and crevices where fungus may grow and by use of an abrasive and porous pad dislodges such fungus or fungi. When attached to a vacuum system, such as a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air-Filtered) vacuum system, the debris and particulate matter generated by the abrasive process is drawn into the vacuum attachment and into the vacuum system where it is removed from the air which is then expelled by the vacuum system. Better cleaning of surfaces afflicted with fungi, molds, and the like is then achieved in a manner that is safer and more effective.

  • Publication number: 20040020009
Abstract: A hinge assembly which creates a zero backlash situation. The base member has multiple seats, each having two contact ridges. The contact ridges are formed by an intersection of two planes (ideally substantially ninety degrees). A ball interconnect is engaged by the contact ridges of the seat on one side and a similar arrangement of contact seats on the other side (the hinge member). The diameter of the ball interconnect is larger than the distances between the contact ridges. By sandwiching the ball interconnect between the contact ridges of the base member and the contact ridges of the hinge member, a zero backlash is created in which firm and positive contact is maintained between the elements of the hinge.

Abstract: An armature for a brush commutated electric motor having a distributed coil winding arrangement for reducing brush arcing and electro-magnetic interference (EMI). The winding pattern involves segmenting each coil into first and second subcoil portions with differing pluralities of turns. Each subcoil portion is wound around separate pairs of spaced apart slots of a lamination stack. Adjacent coils are wound such that one subcoil portion of each is wound in a common slot to therefore form an overlapping arrangement of each pair of adjacently coils. The winding pattern serves to “shift” the resultant magnetic axes of each coil in such a manner so as to significantly reduce brush arcing and the EMI resulting therefrom. The reduction in EMI is sufficient to eliminate the need for EMI reducing components, such as chokes, which have typically been required to maintain EMI to acceptably low levels.

The slider guide is configured so that the slider travels along a generally U-shaped path in its transit from the transition point to the pre-insertion position. The slider guide may be a channel configured to maintain one end of the slider constantly in the lead as it moves along the channel.

Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus for a die frame, and for transferring integrated circuit dies therewith, is described. A ring shaped groove is formed in a first surface of a wafer around a plurality of dies. The wafer is scribed to form a grid of grooves in the first surface of the wafer that separates the plurality of dies. A solidifiable material is applied to the first surface of the wafer to substantially fill the ring shaped groove and the grooves of the grid. The solidifiable material is caused to harden into a ring shaped hardened material in the ring shaped groove and into a grid shaped hardened material in the grooves of the grid. The wafer is thinned so that the grid shaped hardened material removably holds the plurality of dies.

Abstract: A method and system for transferring a plurality of integrated circuit dies from a first surface to a second surface is described. The second surface is positioned to be closely adjacent to the first surface that has a plurality of dies attached thereto. A distance is reduced between the first surface and the second surface until the plurality of dies contact the second surface and attach to the second surface due to an adhesiveness of the second surface. The first surface and second surface are moved apart. The plurality of dies remain attached to the second surface.

Abstract: A method and system for transferring a plurality of integrated circuit dies from a first surface to a second surface is described. Each hollow barrel of a plurality of hollow barrels is applied to a respective die residing on the first surface. The respective die is caused to move into each hollow barrel in parallel. These steps are repeated until each hollow barrel contains a stack of dies of a predetermined number. A die from each hollow barrel is deposited onto the second surface until the stack of dies contained by each hollow barrel is substantially depleted.

Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus for a die frame, and for transferring integrated circuit dies therewith, is described. In one aspect for making a die frame, a wafer that comprises a plurality of dies is attached to a surface of a tape structure. A grid of grooves is formed in the wafer to separate the plurality of dies on the surface of the tape structure. A portion of the tape structure that is accessible through the grooves of the grid is caused to harden into a grid shaped structure. The grid shaped structure removably holds the plurality of dies. One or more dies of the plurality of dies can be moved from the grid shaped structure onto a target surface. In an alternative aspect, when the grid of grooves is formed in the wafer to separate the plurality of dies on the surface of the tape structure, the surface of the tape structure is breached in the grooves.

Abstract: A weld wire for storage on a spool of weld wire. The weld wire has a substantially linear cast in the form of an undulating curve that generally lies in a single plane. The undulating curve is a succession of generally semi-circular sections having a generally fixed radius of curvature. The linear cast is formed on the weld wire prior to the weld wire being wound on the spool of weld wire. The linear cast is at least partially retained on the weld wire after the weld wire is unwound from the spool and during the feeding of the weld wire through a welding machine.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing an electrical connection unit and connector array is provided. Such arrays may be used to solder together traces from opposed circuit boards, in which the array is fitted between, and soldered to the boards to complete a circuit. The method of manufacturing a connection unit includes providing a first insulative base with one or more contacts or contact groups extending from the first side towards the second side of the base. Solder portions or solder balls may be reflowed to contacts at their termination points. An apparatus and method may provide a solder positioning device or means on top of or adjacent to the first insulative base, so that solder portions or solder balls are placed within cavities in the positioning device, in alignment with apertures of the first insulative base. The connection unit may be heated to reflow and fuse the solder portions to the contact termination, thereby constructing an array.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a conductive paste. The method includes deforming conductive particles so that a deformation degree is 1.01 to 1.5 by application of a stress to the conductive particles and mixing the deformed conductive particles with a binder that includes a thermosetting resin as the main component. The deformation degree is determined by dividing an average diameter of the conductive particles after deformation by an average diameter of the conductive particles before deformation, where the average diameter is measured by a laser diffraction method. The use of this conductive paste for a prepreg sheet having limited compressibility can suppress a short circuit between via holes and the degradation of insulation properties.
