Patent number: 6694762Abstract: A refrigeration system provides one or more compressors, a condenser, and a plurality of evaporator coils fed with the liquid refrigerant from the condenser. Each coil is disposed in a chamber to be held at a particular low temperature by blowing air over the coil as liquid refrigerant in the coil evaporates to gas, with the absorption of heat. Each coil returns gas refrigerant back to the compressor(s) through an individual gas return line. A temperature sensor in each chamber provides an output signal related to the temperature provided by the coil. A controller receives each output signal. An on/off valve in each gas return line is controlled by the controller in response to the sensor signal to stop refrigerant flow through its respective coil when the temperature goes below a preset level and allows refrigerant flow when temperature is above a preset value. The on/off valve may be part of a conventional evaporator pressure regulator in which the regulator is adjusted wide open.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2003Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Inventor: Roger K. Patent number: 6694788Abstract: A lock core with a related key includes a core body and a housing and a related key. The related key is inserted in a keyhole of the core body and pushed inward to push a stop plate inward in the keyhole at the same time, with projecting ridges of the key moving inward together with engage shafts until projecting members align with an annular groove of the housing. Then the core body can be rotated to be unlocked. When the key is pulled out of the core body, the engage shafts and the stop plate return to their original positions by the springs to lock the core body. Thus the stop plate normally closes up the keyhole, preventing dirt and miscellaneous matters from entering the keyhole. Any matters or even broken key parts may be sprung out of the keyhole by the stop plate, with the keyhole never clogged.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2003Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Inventor: Hui-Hua Hsieh

Patent number: 6694803Abstract: A method and system for determining the actuating pressure of a servo cylinder that is actuated by pressurized fluid. The actuation displacement of the servo cylinder is obtained from a sensor or other device. A pressure sensor measures inflow pressure at one point of a pressurized fluid line supplying the servo cylinder. The actuating pressure is determined based on the inflow pressure and the change in the actuation displacement of the servo cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2002Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Assignee: WABCO GmbH & Co., oHGInventors: Stefan Klik, Ingo Meyer, Ralph Schumacher

Patent number: 6694804Abstract: A method and device are provided for measuring and/or adjusting the cleaning performance of a cleaning liquid. One method of the invention includes determining a control value (i.e., the number of drops of the cleaning liquid to provide a selected volume) indicative of when the cleaning performance of the cleaning liquid is at or approaching an unacceptable level. At least one substrate can be contacted with the cleaning liquid and a drop number for the cleaning liquid (i.e., the number of drops of the cleaning liquid to provide the selected volume) again measured. At least one cleaning agent, such as at least one surfactant, can be added to the cleaning liquid when the measured drop number is at or near the control value. In one embodiment, the cleaning agent can be added until the measured drop number is at or near a baseline drop number for the cleaning liquid (i.e., the number of drops of the cleaning liquid when cleaning performance is acceptable).Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2002Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Assignee: PPG Industries Ohio, Inc.Inventor: Robert R. Patent number: 6694806Abstract: An engine performance map which specifies the relation between running conditions and brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) is generated by estimating the BSFC relative to the engine rotation speed and accelerator depression amount, based on the BSFC characteristics predicted from the torque pattern of the vehicle being analyzed and the optimum BSFC. A vehicle mounted unit 1 computes the BSFC of the engine by looking up the engine performance map based on the engine rotation speed and accelerator depression amount, and computes the fuel consumption rate based on this BSFC.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2001Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Assignee: Miyama, Inc.Inventors: Satoshi Kumagai, Takao Hamuro, Hideki Nagahara

Patent number: 6694808Abstract: The operating efficiency of a compressor in the range of low Mach numbers at a supersonic wind tunnel test section (for which a considerable flow rate is required) is emphasized, and a design is provided in which pressure fluctuations can be reduced in a supersonic flow and also can be reduced in a supersonic wind tunnel circuit capable of operating at the required Mach number. Pressure fluctuations of flow brought about by inefficient operation can be reduced by operating an axial compressor 9 at a higher operating efficiency in the presence of a tunnel circuit resistor than the operating efficiency determined by the operating state theoretically calculated based on the Mach number required at a test section 19 in the absence of the tunnel circuit resistor. The Mach number at the test section can be made to conform to the required Mach number by causing the stream produced by the axial compressor 9 to pass through the tunnel circuit resistor such as a mesh plate 20 mounted in the tunnel circuit.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2002Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Assignee: National Aerospace Laboratory of JapanInventors: Hideo Sawada, Tetsuya Kunimasu
