  • Patent number: 6745631
Abstract: A method of measuring pore depth on the surface of a polishing pad during processing. In the present invention, a planar ultrasound sensing device is disposed a predetermined distance above the surface of a polishing pad. The planar ultrasound sensing device sends out a plurality of ultrasound signals to the surface and the pores therein, and receives a plurality of reflected signals from the pad surface and constituent pores. The difference between pore depth and the surface is determined to establish first depth difference data according to the time delay in the reflected signals. The polishing pad is rotated to obtain second to Nth depth difference data. A relational image relative to the surface and the pores of the polishing pad is obtained according to the first to Nth depth difference data.

  • Patent number: 6745632
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide an algorithm for enhancing the transit time measurement of an ultrasonic wave through a fluid, and criteria for evaluating the suitability for various waveforms with regard to noise rejection. The transit time calculation provides a greater noise immunity and accuracy than techniques used in the prior art, and allows a measure of weighting of dispersed signals with different arrival times. The transit time calculation utilizes either the transmitted signal or the measurement of a reference system, the calculation of the squared convolution of this signal with the received signal, and the calculation of the transit time from the time-weighted squared convolution signal over a suitable interval defined by the minimums of the squared convolution signal. In the case of dispersion where the arrival times are symmetrically displaced around a mean transit time, or if asymmetric dispersion is suitably within the main lobe, the calculation properly weights the composite signal.

  • Patent number: 6745635
Abstract: An improved device for proof load testing of bearings comprising of a cylinder body (8) and a piston (3) which are slidably mounted with a male and female internal coupling design, creating an cylindrical type cavity (9) within the body. The cavity is filled with hydraulic fluid. An axial bore hole (10) extends through the center of the piston and cylinder. A threaded enlongated bolt (1) is extended through the axial bore hole and a bearing assembly and into a threaded recessed receiver die (6). The bolt is tightened, forcing the device against the bearing assembly and the forcing the bearing against the recessed area of the receiver die. The pressure created by tightening the bolt is measured by a hydraulic gauge (12) attached to the cylinder body. When predetermined pressure by the tightened bolt is reached on the hydraulic gauge, a mechanical gauge attached to the receiver die is examined to verify or prove the bearing has withstood the load within manufacturer's specified tolerances.

  • Patent number: 6745642
Abstract: An accelerator pedal assembly comprises a pedal arm, a pedal shaft, a return spring and a frictional force generating mechanism for generating frictional force according to movement of the pedal arm. The frictional force generating mechanism has a sliding guide path defining a sliding surface for generating frictional force and a frictional force varying mechanism located within the sliding guide path for varying frictional force according to movement of the pedal arm in such a manner that the frictional force generated when the pedal arm moves towards the position of maximum depression increases according to the amount of movement, and the frictional force generated when the pedal arm moves towards the rest position is reduced according to the amount of movement. This enables the assembly to be made smaller and means that the accelerator pedal assembly operates more smoothly as a result of superior depression force hysteresis.

  • Patent number: 6745644
Abstract: In installations for truing up band blades, band-saw blades must be precisely measured, in order to be trued up accurately. The band-saw blade to be trued runs over two deviation stations and is trued up in the upper linear guide area. The invention provides a saw-band guide section in order to measure the pre-tension in the saw blade which creates the desired bowing. The saw-band guide section is formed by two parallel guide bearers, each of which is subdivided into two sub-bearer sections. The band-saw blade is guided on bearing rollers between the guide bearers and guided by dead rolls which are mounted on pivoting carriages into a curve which corresponds to a clothoid arc. A measurement carried out by a measuring bar comprising sensors provides an extremely accurate, constant result in an area practically devoid of stress.

A yoke has at a first end a clamp for clamping a paint can and at a second end, is pivotally connected to a linkage assembly that converts the linear motion of a reciprocating linear motor to an arcing motion of the yoke. The motor includes a cylinder and a piston that is spring biased toward an inlet end of the cylinder. Compressed air enters the inlet end and a passageway through the piston for conducting the compressed air to a valve having a displaceable stopper, wherein the compressed air seats the stopper in the valve and thereby closes the valve, so that air pressure moves the piston toward an outlet end of the cylinder. The outlet end of the cylinder includes a projection against which the piston drives the stopper so as to unseat the stopper in the valve and thereby open the valve, permitting the spring bias to return the piston toward the inlet end of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6745667
Abstract: The present invention relates to a motor-pump aggregate with a motor and a piston pump , more particularly for electronically controlled brake systems of motor vehicles, wherein pistons of the pump are drivable by way of an eccentric that is connected to a shaft of the motor and are connected by means of a coupling ring, and wherein the motor has a holding plate. According to the present invention, a projection is provided on the holding plate and extends until into the range of motion of the coupling ring. This provides a stop for the coupling ring, on the one hand, and an improved outlet for leakage fluid of the pump, on the other hand.

Abstract: A fryer which notifies an appropriate oil filtering timing is disclosed. While various kinds of cooking is repeated, the degree of amount of fry residues set previously in accordance with menu switch is accumulated every time each menu switch (M1-M5, M7-M11) is pressed (S3-S12, S13: NO, S14: NO). When an accumulative value of amount of accumulated fry residues N is over 50(S14: YES), a notification for filtering timing is performed by blinking a filtering sign “*” at the right side of the display portion 14 (S15). In this way, the oil filtering timing is determined based on an estimated amount of fry residues. Therefore, the notification is performed appropriately.

Abstract: A bread maker having an oven compartment, a door opening and closing the oven compartment, a fixed kneader with a first kneading roller, and a rotatable kneader with a second kneading roller. The rotatable roller rotates between a kneading position at which the first kneading roller and the second kneading roller face each other, and a released position at which the second kneading roller is spaced apart from the first kneading roller. A spring has a first end attached to a side wall of the oven compartment and a second end coupled to the rotatable kneader, and elastically returns the rotatable kneader to the kneading position as the door is closed and elastically maintains the rotatable kneader at the released position when the door is opened. A pusher in the door pushes the rotatable kneader from the released position to the kneading position as the door is closed.

  • Patent number: 6745675
Abstract: The invention concerns a device comprising, in an insulating chamber, an internal space for receiving a tray divided into a rear compartment for rethermalization and a front compartment for preserving cold, which communicate with each other through an intermediate passage, and which are accessible through a front passage. A front closing flap and an intermediate closing flap are rigidly coupled to each other via longitudinal lateral arms, and are displaced by tilting between a closed position to close the front passage and the intermediate passage respectively and an open position for passing a meal tray from the front to the rear. The closing flaps contribute to the thermal insulation, and enable efficient rethermalizatlon to obtain core-heated food items in the rear compartment and food items preserved cold in the front compartment.
