Abstract: Disclosed is an elastomeric article, such as a glove, and a process for making the elastomeric articles. The elastomeric articles include a primary matrix including one or more layers of elastomeric polymer, such as a natural or synthetic latex or a block copolymer, and a polymeric coating on a surface of the primary matrix. The polymeric coating is formed of crosslinked polymers which are crosslinked with a cationic crosslinking agent such as a polyamide epichlorohydrin crosslinking agent. The polymeric coating can be a crosslinked polyarcylate, polyacrylamide, or polysaccharise, for example. In one embodiment, the crosslinking agent crosslinks the polymeric coating to the primary matrix layer of the article, forming secure attachments between the primary matrix and the polymeric coating. In one embodiment, the crosslinking agent may crosslink the elastomeric polymer as well as the polymeric coating.

Abstract: A hair colouring composition comprising one or more developers is selected from amino aromatic systems capable of being oxidised and thereafter undergoing at least two electrophilic attach reactions, and one or more couplers selected from (a) 1,3-diketones of the formula (I): in which X and Y are non-leaving substituents and Z is an active leaving group, such that in the presence of an oxidising agent the or each developer reacts with the or each coupler substantially only at the position having the active leaving group Z and (b) compoounds of the formula (II): in which R1, R2 and R3 are, independently, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, aryl, alkaryl, aralyl, —R′NHCOR, —CONHR, —R′CONHR, —R′OH, —R′SO2R, —R′SO2NHR, —R′OR or —COR, in any of which R is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, aryl, alkaryl, or aralkyl and R′ is alkylene, alkenylene, cycloalkylene, cycloalkenylene, arylene, alkarylene or aralkyrene, or s

Abstract: A hair colouring composition comprising one or more developers is selected from amino aromatic systems capable of being oxidised and thereafter undergoing at least two electrophilic attack reactions, and one or more couplers selected from compounds of the formula (I) in which X is a non-leaving substituent, and Z is an active leaving group, and Y is an active leaving group or a non-leaving substituent, such that in the presence of an oxidising agent the or each developer reacts with the or each coupler substantially only at the position having the active leaving group Z and, if Y is an active leaving group, Y, provided that if X is phenyl then Y is not ethyl or methyl. The application also claims compositions comprising a developer and specific compounds of formula (I).

Abstract: A portable rail ramp system is disclosed as an assisting device for user transference, with or without assistance, from a bed or piece of equipment to floor level and visa-versa. The system is designed to be used by ambulatory individuals defined as one who has physical limitations either transiently or permanently but able to support himself or herself on at least one lower extremity and has the use of at least one upper extremity. The system is portable in that it will transport via wheels to a designated location then with a foot actuation mechanism the wheels will be lifted and the invention shall set on a floor surface. The ramp surface has non-skid properties and accommodates two individuals in close proximity as a physical control to minimize back injuries to the user or an assisting party.

Abstract: A platform with ramp, which ramp, in a first position, can function as a riding surface for moving objects on and off the platform and, in a second position, can function as a protection against riding off or otherwise moving off of objects from the platform, which ramp comprises a first profile substantially comprising the riding surface, which first profile (10) is pivotally connected to a second profile (12) which is connected to the platform, while a third profile (14) is provided which is connected near a first side to the first profile and, at a distance therefrom, is connected with an operating device for the ramp, while with the aid of the operating device the third profile can be brought in a first, blocking position in which at least pivotal movement of the first profile from the second position to the first position is prevented and in a second, pivoting position in which the first profile with the aid of the operating device can be moved between the first and second position.

Abstract: An electric toothbrush is provided. The electric toothbrush includes a housing, a brush head, and a neck extending between the housing and the brush head. The housing has a hollow interior. A movable bristle carrier is disposed on the brush head. An electric motor is disposed in the hollow interior of the housing, and the motor is operatively connected to the movable bristle carrier to impart a rotating or oscillating motion thereto. A first plurality of tufts are arranged in a first ring of the movable bristle carrier, each of the first plurality of tufts has a plurality of first bristles. A second plurality of tufts is arranged in a second ring inside of the first ring. Each of the second plurality of tufts has a plurality of second bristles, wherein at least some of the second plurality of tufts have a diameter that is greater than a diameter of at least some of the first plurality of tufts.
