  • Patent number: 6751853
Abstract: An apparatus which reduces the surface area with which a carrier film adheres to a die, including a plate member including laterally-spaced supports. Preferably, the apparatus also includes a vacuum source operatively connected to the plate member. Upon placement of a carrier film having an array of semiconductor dice adhered thereto onto the plate member, the dice are proximate the supports. The vacuum pulls air from the spaces between the supports, which partially releases the carrier film from the bottom surface of at least some of the dice. The apparatus may also include a die removal mechanism such as a vacuum collet type die pick-up mechanism, an extendable member die plunge-up mechanism, or a combination thereof. The present invention also includes a method for reducing the surface area with which a carrier film adheres to a die to facilitate removal thereof.

  • Patent number: 6751854
Abstract: A pair of coupled right and left element rows of a fastener chain is inserted from a rear opening of a slider, which is placed and fixed on a slider passing portion disposed on a transfer path of the fastener chain, and after the element rows are separated side by side through the slider passing portion the respective separated element rows are coupled again by inserting the element rows into an element coupling portion disposed at a chain downstream side. The fastener chain in the above state is transferred to a stop portion forming unit of a single stop implement disposed at a chain downstream side of the element coupling portion, so that the stop implement is attached thereto. Thus, steps for coupling the element rows of the fastener chain and attaching the single stop implement are performed continuously and efficiently.

  • Patent number: 6751889
Abstract: A dryer has a blower and means for dividing an airflow into two separate chambers. A drying channel is defined between the two chambers and material to be dried passes along the channel. The walls between the chambers and the channel are apertured to allow air to flow into the channel. The channel increases in cross-sectional area along the length thereof such that air flowing along the channel is subject to a pressure drop. The air thus flows substantially in one direction along the channel.

  • Patent number: 6751891
Abstract: A shock absorption and energy return assembly for increasing the stability, shock absorption and energy return capabilities of a shoe. The assembly generally includes lower and upper guide members having a plurality of spring retainers, a plurality of springs positioned within the spring retainers, and a resilient connecting member which fixedly attaches the lower guide member to the upper guide member and serves to limit the separation between the guide members, preventing disengagement of the springs from within the guide members while simultaneously providing a means of allowing the springs to compress below their uncompressed height when a force is applied on the assembly. Alternatively, the assembly could be surrounded by a sealed, transparent encasement, which in one embodiment would comprise a lower portion and an upper portion surrounding the lower guide member and the upper guide member, and a plurality of lower extrusions and upper extrusions.

  • Patent number: 6751894
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for removing snow from a travel surface, including a wear member movably connected to a main blade or wing blade. In some embodiments, a fastener connected to the wear member extends through an aperture in the blade and is biased in a downward direction by a biasing mechanism connected to the blade. The biasing mechanism can include a spring, brackets retaining the spring in position with respect to the blade, and a shaft connected to the fastener and to the spring to exert a biasing force (e.g., a downward force) upon the fastener and therefore upon the wear member. The wear member can pivot about a pivot point while the biasing member biases the wear member against the travel surface.

  • Patent number: 6751896
Abstract: An excavating machine, representatively a tracked excavator has a boom stick portion on which both an excavating bucket and a hydraulic breaker are mounted for hydraulically driven pivotal movement between first and second limit positions. The bucket may be operated independently of the breaker for digging operations. Similarly, the breaker may be operated independently of the bucket for refusal material-breaking operations. The same excavating machine may now use the bucket and breaker in a rapid and continuous exchange, to frequently remove small quantities of broken refuse material with the bucket, exposing the bucket and breaker to fresh refuse material. A deployment system is disclosed having a bracket for closely aligned pivotal support of both the breaker and a single hydraulic cylinder on a single bracket. An end stop and latching assembly are also disclosed to increase the control and reliability of the device. An extension stop is disclosed to stabilize the device during operation.

  • Patent number: 6751900
Abstract: A hook setting mechanism used with a fishing device is provided. The mechanism includes an arm pivotally secured to a rod holder such that the arm can pivot between a vertical position to a position where the arm is engaged with the base. The arm further includes an opening in which a trigger is movably disposed that includes a stay and a guide spaced from one another on the trigger. The stay is releasably engageable with an eyelet on a fishing pole while the guide properly positions the fishing line on the trigger such that any downward force on the line in the guide by a fish serves to disengage the eyelet from the stay, consequently setting a hook in the mouth of the fish. The disengagement of the rod and the trigger also enables the arm to pivot from the vertical position towards the base, moving the arm and the trigger out of the path of the fishing line to avoid entangling of the fishing line on the hook setting mechanism.

When the trap is sprung, it is constructed to disconnect the spring from the jaws under load from the animal making desperate forcible attempts to release the trap, thus allowing the jaws to open from the leg of the animal. However, the snare is set at the same time that the trap is sprung, so the animal remains caught by the snare even though the trap rigid frame including the jaws releases and completely detaches from the animal leg.
