Abstract: A nail clipper for pets has a scissors structure provided with cutting surfaces formed by curved blade pieces. The curved blade pieces are created by dividing a spherical or elliptical body into quarter pieces having a hollow interior and formed with curved cutting edges. The blade pieces are hinged to opposite ends of a holding piece and moved by pivoting parts coupled to the ends of operating parts of the scissors structure. By operating the scissors structure, the curved blade pieces open and come together to cut the pet's nail, producing smooth nail edges cut in a curved shape with a single cutting action.

Abstract: A fruit slicer includes an X-hinged device including two handles pivoted by a pivot that separates the X-hinged device into an upper portion and a lower portion, an arcuate resilient plate having two ends fixed to the upper portion of the X-hinged device, and a plurality of blades each having a first end fixed to the arcuate resilient plate and a second end fixed in a recessed portion of the X-hinged device. A respective pair of the blades has a gap therebetween. An elastic element is mounted between the handles for biasing the handles away from each other. The arcuate resilient plate is deformed when the handles are pressed toward each other, thereby reducing the gap. The arcuate resilient plate restores its shape when the handles are released.

Abstract: A fishing line strike indicator and improved hook setter. This device utilizing a body having a hole there through for allowing a fishing line to be inserted and affixed thereto. A water deflector extends from this body and faces the attached lure. When a fish strikes the lure attached to the fishing line attached to the strike indicator, the strike indicator, as it is pulled through the water by the fish pulling the line attached to the lure or by the current of the water, offers resistance in the water thereby increasing the chances that hook will be automatically set in the fish's mouth.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the reduction or inhibition of corrosion in an atmospheric burner unit by adding to a combustion system an effective amount of manganese, or a manganese precursor source, or derivative. The system may further include a catalyst package that may be composed of one or more individual organometallic compounds of Li, Na, K, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Mo, Fe, Co, Pt, Ce, and combinations, mixtures or precursors thereof. The manganese component of the catalyst package of the present invention reduces or eliminates the poisoning of the combustion system, whereby improved combustion and reduced emissions result. In addition, this invention inhibits both high- and low-temperature corrosion that occurs on the hot surfaces of burner furnace walls and tubes, and on cooler surfaces of the burner unit exhaust stack.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a catalyst and an associated process for polymerizing olefins or olefin-containing compounds, to corresponding olefin polymers, to derivatives of the olefin polymers, and to lubricant and fuel compositions that include the olefin polymers or their derivatives. The polymerization catalyst is a metal complex and optional cocatalyst where the metal complex is formed from a bidentate ligand having a nitrogen coordinating group and a second coordinating group selected from oxygen, sulfur, selenium and tellurium groups and a metal compound where the metal is a transition metal, boron, aluminum, germanium or tin. Highly branched and reactive ethylene polymers are formed from the catalyst and process of the present invention. The ethylene polymers and their derivatives are useful in various applications including as performance additives in lubricants and fuels.
