Abstract: Disclosed herein is a new and distinct variety of Petunia plant having a decumbent growth habit and long stems. The Petunia plant has abundant branching, and a great profusion of blooms with the entire plant remaining in bloom for a considerable period of time. The flowers are single and small in size with the petals having a purplish-pink coloration. The base color of the corolla throat is light greenish-yellow on the inside and the outside of the corolla tube is pale yellow. The plant exhibits high resistance to rain, heat, cold and disease.

Furthermore, this plant has excellent vigor and flowers under short day conditions. Ipomoea batatas ‘Sweet Caroline Light Green’ is suitable for use in landscaping and containerized gardens.

Abstract: A non-contaminating pressure transducer module having an isolation member is disclosed. The isolation member isolates a pressure sensor within the transducer module from exposure to ultra high purity fluids flowing through a conduit in the module without significantly affecting the accuracy of the pressure measurement. The transducer module may be positioned within a fluid flow circuit carrying corrosive materials, wherein the pressure transducer module produces a control signal proportional to either a gauge pressure or an absolute pressure of the fluid flow circuit. The pressure transducer module of the present invention also avoids the introduction of particulate, unwanted ions, or vapors into the flow circuit.

Abstract: The present invention comprises novel preparations of polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene copolymers which retain the therapeutic activity of the commercial preparations, but are substantially free from the undesirable effects which are inherent in the prior art preparations. Because the preparations of polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene copolymers which comprise the present invention are a less polydisperse population of molecules than the prior art polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene copolymers, the biological activity of the copolymers is better defined and more predictable.

Abstract: A method of making a face mask including the steps of providing a plurality of lengths of Grade 2, commercially pure titanium wire, having a diameter of from about 0.21 to about 0.24 inches; forming each length at room temperature to a desired bend angle by bending the member at room temperature using rotary bending apparatus to a first bend angle that is from about 1.25 to about 1.35 times greater than the desired bend angle; and welding each of the thus formed lengths to at least one other of the lengths in an ambient, oxygen containing environment.

Abstract: A therapeutic article of clothing is provided which is useful for the therapeutic application of pressure at certain pressure points throughout the human body. The clothing contains regions or pouches containing pellets at strategic locations which, when worn, aligns and centers the pouch over the pressure points where upon pin-point pressure can then be applied to the body by pressing on the pellet.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an air vent structure for an inner air discharge of a helmet adapted to protect a user's head when a user rides a motorcycle, and in particular to an air vent structure for a helmet which is capable of preventing a breath steam from forming in an inner surface of a shield by installing an air vent in lower both sides of a shield installed in a front side of a helmet and accurately adjusting an opening and closing degree of an air vent. It is a primary object of the present invention to provide an air vent structure for a helmet which is capable of discharging an inner air based on the flow of an air of an air vent by installing an air vent at both lower sides of a shield of a helmet, improving a structure of an air flow of an air vent and accurately adjusting the amount of flowing air, and it is possible to adjust the flowing amount of air based on a helmet user's condition and a state of an inner and outer side of a helmet for thereby implementing a pleasant state.

The medical assistant outer garment includes a pair of double pockets which are disposed adjacent the neck opening on left and right sides the garment front. Each double pocket consists of a large pocket sized to receive the binaural portion of a stethoscope, and a small pocket sized to receive the chest portion of the stethoscope, such that both ends of the stethoscope are retained within a respective pocket when the stethoscope is placed around the wearer's neck. At least one organizational pocket assembly is further disposed on the medical assistant outer garment, and includes a large inner pocket with multiple fitted pockets disposed on an outer layer of the large inner pocket.

Abstract: A bolt assembly for use with a toilet seat bracket that permits the toilet seat to be removed and replaced for cleaning without the necessity of reaching below the toilet bowl or toilet bowl flange and the method of using same. A threaded rod is passed through the flange and held in place with a first nut below the flange and a second nut above the flange. Once the rod is in place there is no reason to have to reach under the flange. The bracket of the toilet seat is then placed over the rod and secured with a third nut. A cap on the bracket conceals the rod and nut. The toilet seat can easily be removed by merely removing the third nut and lifting the seat off the flange. Another embodiment utilized a threaded opening in the toilet bowl flange so that a bolt can be admitted from above the flange to secure and remove the toilet seat. A further embodiment uses a tubular insert with a threaded inner wall affixed into the flange opening to receive the bolt.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for the containment of fluids that flow from a bowl of a commode installed in an aircraft lavatory through a space between a rim of the bowl and a shroud positioned above the rim. The method includes securing a central portion of an apron against an exterior perimeter of the bowl and fastening a plurality of fastening points formed in an outer peripheral portion of the apron to fixed anchors to thereby extend and retain the outer peripheral portion of the apron away from the exterior perimeter of the bowl. Once installed, the apron is able to contain at least a portion of fluids that flow from the bowl through the space. The present invention also provides a method of servicing an aircraft lavatory between flights and a kit for use in servicing an aircraft lavatory.

Abstract: A head rest assembly for a tub, spa, pool, bath, or shower is disclosed. The head rest assembly includes an light-transferring insert that is illuminated to provide an improved bathing experience. The insert may be illuminated by incandescent or fluorescent lights, fiber optics, or light-emitting diodes. In one aspect, the light-transferring insert may be made from a resilient material, for example, a silicone-based material or a thermoplastic rubber. The head rest assembly may also include electronic audio speakers or sound wave-guide speakers. The head rest assembly may also include a fluid flow device, for example, a nozzle for water. The fluid flow device may also be illuminated. A speaker for a spa or pool having a diaphragm and an audio transducer mounted to the diaphragm is also disclosed. This speaker provides the capability to introduce audio to a tub, spa, pool, bath, or shower while imposing little or no impact upon the fabrication, storage, or shipping of the tub, spa, pool, bath, or shower.

Abstract: A coupling system for securing a sink to a drain pipe. The coupling system of the present invention can include a support member and a flange connector. The flange connector can be coupled to the support member about opposite surfaces of a sink. The support member can include both a shoulder and a support surface opposite to the shoulder. The shoulder can be configured to support a sink and a gasket can be positioned thereon or within a recess therein to provide enhanced communication between a sink and the shoulder. The support surface, by comparison, can be configured to rest upon a support surface able to support the sink when coupled to the support surface.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a one-touch collapsible cot. This one-touch collapsible cot includes a folding support frame (1) and a seat (50) held on the support frame (1). The support frame (1) is fabricated with a plurality of braces (3) crosswisely jointed together by a plurality of joints (2), and has a head support brace (10), a leg support brace (20), a midsection support brace (30), and a tension projection (40). The seat (50) has a first brace pocket (60) for receiving the head support brace (10), a second brace pocket (70) for receiving the leg support brace (20), a wing (51) provided with a third brace pocket (80) for receiving the midsection support brace (30), and a locking hole (53) for receiving the tension projection (40) of the support frame (1). The seat (50) is quickly opened by the support frame (1) without leaving any uneven portion thereon.

Variations in the material of the pillow sham heighten the illusion by providing the possibility of radical differences in coverings of varying parts of the display. The sham may enclose the unitary display in a highly permanent manner, or it may have an opening, with optional closure means, to allow it to slip over the display. The display may have sleeping pillow recesses in the body of the display. The display may be provided with a wide variety of optional accessories, such as pockets and means for hanging storage of the display.

Abstract: Support device can be adjusted by use of a motor and is used for the upholstery of a piece of furniture for sitting and/or laying upon, such as a mattress of a bed. A base may be provided with at least two relatively adjustable support components. The support device may have at least one drive unit detachably connected to the base and provided with a housing having a recess. A rotatably mounted shaft engages with the recess when the drive unit is assembled. The shaft engages with a support component to be adjusted and can be rotated by the drive unit. The drive unit is placed on the shaft from the support side so that the housing of the drive unit is arranged between the support components and the shaft. Thus, the support device has a lower profile than conventional support devices.

Abstract: A portable prayer pillow designed to be kneeled upon by an individual during prayer and worship, wherein the pillow includes items necessary for keeping a prayer journal. In a preferred embodiment, the pillow comprises a first pocket having a plurality of blank paper or cloth strips on which information can be written and a second pocket for receiving and storing the strips having information written thereon. In use, for example, the individual can remove a blank strip from the first pocket, write a prayer request on the strip, and place the strip into the second pocket. When the prayer is answered, the individual can retrieve the strip from the second pocket, make an appropriate notation thereon, and place the updated strip back into the second pocket, or the individual can take a second blank strip from the first pocket, write a praise report thereon, and place the second strip in the second pocket.

A support member is disposed across at least a portion of the well region such that the ends of the arms extend beyond the support member. The support member is sized and configured to assist in supporting a baby when lying on the pillow body while the ends of the arms are generally adjacent to the user's waist.

Abstract: An air bed having a pump and a relief valve is operably connected with a control box. The control box is capable of being programmed or receiving scripted information from a media file such that timed pressure changes may be made in the air bed by operation of the pump and the relief valve. These changes are synchronized with a message being played by a media player. Thus the air bed interacts with a person lying on the bed. This interaction is used, preferably in a sales setting, to convey information to the person about the operation and features of the air bed.

Abstract: A fire fighting tool includes a spade, a fire extinguishing member, and a fork like insertion member. The spade consists of a handle and a blade connected to the handle; the blade has a cutting edge for cutting objects, and hooked portions on a second edge opposite the cutting edge for hooking objects. The blade further has a convexly curved portion on the second edge, which can be used as a fulcrum in disengaging the hooked portions from holes of a rugged land after the same have been engaged with the holes. The fire extinguishing member has several metal plates for hitting fire, and is detachably joined to the other end of the handle. The fork like member is detachably connected to the handle for the handle to be used as a walking stick after the fire extinguishing member is removed.

Abstract: A folding multipurpose tool incorporating a latch release mechanism including a lever, a cam, and a rocker-shaped grip body to easily effect release of a catch for holding knife or screwdriver blades extended. A spring and cams are arranged to hold each of a pair of handles either extended or folded with respect to the tangs of a pair of pliers jaws or the like. The handles include inwardly directed comfortable rounded rims. Portions of folding blades interlock with other folding blades on an opposite handle when the tool is folded, to stabilize the handles while using a knife or screwdriver. Blades of folding scissors include edges that are serrated only near their tips. A container opener includes a hook defining a recessed throat.

Abstract: Apparatus for treating the surface of a floor includes a wheeled vehicle having a generally central vertical longitudinal plane. A lift unit is mounted on the wheeled vehicle and is capable of up and down movement in the central vertical longitudinal plane of the vehicle. A floor surface treating unit is carried by the lift unit generally underneath the lift unit and has an elongate head. The head has a pivotal connection with the lift unit for rotation of the head on a generally vertical pivot axis in the plane and generally at the center of length of the head for rotation of the head on the pivot axis to different angular positions with respect to the plane of the wheeled vehicle. A locking mechanism associated with the lift unit and the floor surface treating unit releasably locks the head in a selected angular position.

Abstract: An adjustable brush for cleaning a drive or sprocket chain has a C-shaped toolhead fixed to a handle with an opposing cleaning element. The length of the handle sufficiently keeps users hands away from the chain during cleaning, and provides a means for the opposing cleaning element to clean generally inaccessible areas. The toolhead defines a chain passage recess having a plurality of inner sides. Each inner side has projecting retaining members to define a brush block cavity adapted to removably receive a brush block element such that a cleaning member formed thereon projects into the recess. Likewise, the opposing cleaning element has a pair of retaining members projecting therefrom to define a brush block cavity adapted to removably receive a brush block element.

Abstract: A complete self-contained automatic windshield maintenance system comprising a conventional windshield wiper blade with a scrubber blade and washer, and a conventional wiper blade with a scraper, wherein the system automatically switches between the conventional blade and the view obscuring debris-removing blade with each stroke of the wiper arm. The complete self-contained automatic windshield system is further equipped with a remote control device.

Abstract: A device can clean hoses of varying dimensions and uses vacuum, wiping and jet spray to clean a hose. The device can be used to clean carpet cleaning hoses and can be transported on a vehicle.

Abstract: A new and improved vacuum cleaner is disclosed which would be powered solely by battery means and/or self-generated power means. The vacuum cleaner would preferably be a standard push-type vacuum cleaner and would include a rechargeable battery which would be externally mounted. The vacuum cleaner would also have a top-mounted light which would face forward and assist a user in vacuuming. The light would be powered by a generator that would produce power when the wheels of the vacuum cleaner are turned.

Abstract: Vacuum cleaning apparatus having a rotary brush situated at an air intake opening in a housing has a configuration which enables efficient cleaning of edge portions of a floor that are adjacent to a wall or other vertical surface. A cleaning head portion of the housing has intersecting sidewalls which extend at right angles to each other enabling one sidewall to face the edge of a floor while the other sidewall faces the lower edge of an adjacent wall. The air intake opening is angled to extend into both of the angled intersecting sidewalls of the cleaning head. The rotary brush carries bristles which protrude through the air intake opening at both of the sidewalls of the cleaning head and at the intersection between the sidewalls.

Abstract: A slider (10) is provided for use with an elongated channel (12) having a pair of spaced apart side walls (14, 16) interconnected by a base wall (18) and an upper wall (20, 22) projecting from each side wall spaced from and generally parallel to the base wall. The slider has a body portion (30) defined by a top surface (32), bottom surface (34) and plurality of side surfaces (36) interconnecting the top and bottom surfaces. The slider also has a plurality of axial slots (42) extending between the top and bottom surfaces adjacent each side surface and a plurality of lateral slots (52) extending between each of the side surfaces and the respective axial slot (42) for allowing the side surface to flex and bias the slider between the side walls of the channel (12). The slider (10) further has a plurality of raised ridges (44) projecting from each of the top and bottom surfaces for flexing and biasing the slider between the upper walls and the base wall of the channel.

Abstract: A strap-form tie which makes use of self-engaging back-to-back hook and loop material (hooks on one of the tie and the loop component on the opposite surface), with a special tab on one end to facilitate wrapping. The tie overlaps itself and attaches to itself, adjusting to the diameter of the object(s) being enclosed. The tie is untied simply by peeling it apart, and it may be re-used repeatedly. This novel design makes practical many new uses for strap-form ties.

Abstract: A worm drive clamp comprises a worm drive member and a unitary strap and housing member. The worm drive member has a cylindrical body with a thread, a pawled portion below the body, and a head suitable for turning by a driver such as a hex nut driver. The worm drive member is situated in a chamber defined by the housing. The bottom wall of the housing has a ratcheted recess that interacts with the pawled portion to prevent counterclockwise rotation of the drive member. As the strap is passed upwards through a slot in the housing, grooves on the strap engage the thread of the worm drive member so that the strap is drawn upwards as the worm drive member is rotated clockwise.

Abstract: The invention is a mating film. The mating film comprises a base sheet having a first major surface. A plurality of generally parallel ridges project from the first major surface. The ridges comprise a stem portion attached to the base sheet and generally upright from the base sheet. A head portion of each ridge is spaced from the first major surface and extends generally laterally from the stem portion so as to define a lateral distance. The center of each stem portion of each ridge is spaced from the center of each adjacent ridge stem portion by a distance greater than about 2 times lateral distance defined by the head portion.

Abstract: A buckle including a buckle release system for releasing a parachute canopy from a harness. The buckle comprises a lock lever, a manual release lever, a spring biased catch, and a latch positioned in a frame. A slide member is provided. The slide member operates to hold the latch in the locked position, and prevents a buckling member from being released from the buckle when the buckle is in a locked position. In the open position, a spring moves the slide and the buckling member out of the frame, thereby releasing the buckling member from the buckle.

Abstract: The present invention provides for a method of cold drawing polymeric yarns suitable for use in implantable medical devices, such as vascular grafts. The method of the present invention produces cold drawn polymeric yarns that have a substantially uniform linear density and a highly oriented molecular structure as well as good lubricity, non-thrombogenicity and biocompatibility. In one embodiment of the present invention there is provided a method of cold drawing multi-filament PTFE yarns include the steps of maintaining the PTFE yarn at a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the yarn, drawing the yarn at such temperature over a first roller rotated about its axis at a first speed and a second roller rotated about its axis at a speed faster than the speed of the first roller to a selected denier and to increase molecular orientation; and twisting the drawn yarn.

Abstract: A continuous casting and hot rolling apparatus for the parallel production for a multiplicity of rolled shapes, wire and rod of circular, oval and polygonyl cross section in which a continuous caster or flow shaper produces initially a plurality of discreet strands which continuously are fed to a hot rolling line and then can be diverted, if desired to a universal rolling unit in which pairs of strands are rolled alternately in vertical and horizontal rolls. The unit may be driven by a common motor and can have drive shafts for the respective stands located at the vertices of an isosceles triangle.
