Abstract: The present invention relates to a peach tree, Prunus persica, and more particularly to a new and distinct variety characterized by a medium size, vigorous, hardy, self-fertile, productive and regular bearing tree. The fruit matures under the ecological conditions described in mid July, with first picking on Jul. 16, 2003. The fruit is very large in size, sweet and acidic in flavor, globose with some tipping on the apex in shape, clingstone in type, yellow with significant red bleeding in flesh color, mostly red in skin color, and extremely firm to non-melting in texture. The present variety was the result of a nectarine by peach hybridization.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for providing alternate current paths to a junction through different sets of gate controlled SCRs coupled to the junction. The method starts with the step of initiating a switch from an active set of SCRs to an inactive set by removing a gate signal from two parallel connected, opposite sense current carrying SCRs which in combination carry AC current in either direction. Removal of the gating signal is often initiated, for example, in response to an indication that one alternating current source is faulty so that a switch to a second source is initiated. Current is then sensed through the two SCRs of the active set to determine a current carrying state for each of those two SCRs. After the state of the current carrying SCRs is determined the current carrying state of the SCRs is confirmed during a delay time period.

Abstract: A video camera mounted on a parking enforcement patrol vehicle and connected to a computer near the operator. The system is driven along a patrol route where parked vehicles are governed by a posted time limit. The system enforces the local parking regulation by automatically determining whether or not each parked car has been parked longer than the posted time limit. Violations are detected by applying a License Plate Recognition algorithm to the images. Each license plate number is time-tagged, geo-referenced and entered into a local database. When the patrol vehicle re-traces the patrol route after the posted parking time limit has expired, the database is searched to flag vehicles that were observed at the same location during the previous circuit and therefore in violation of the parking regulations. When the system detects a parking violation, it prints a parking citation that the operator affixes to the offending parked vehicle.

A combiner combines the generic-chip-code signal and the plurality of spread-spectrum-processed signals. A receiver-generic-chip-code generator generates a replica of the generic-chip-code signal. A generic mixer recovers the carrier signal from the spread-spectrum-communications signal.

Also described are novel pharmaceutical compositions suitable for use in such methods of treatment.

Abstract: A bone mill for preparing the second-stage opening in crestal bone surrounding the gingival surface of a dental implant in a jawbone is tubular in form and has teeth with a negative rake on an end surface and the adjacent side surface for forming a shaped opening to the implant. The side surface of the mill near the end surface is tapered to the desired shape of the opening. A guide pin fixed in the implant mates with an opening in the bone mill to center the mill relative to the implant.

Abstract: An octagonal container is formed from corrugated paperboard with overlapping flaps for eliminating gaps in the container bottom wall. Prestretched polypropylene straps are automatically applied to the container when in its flattened condition for providing girth support to the container when in its erected condition. The straps are positioned from the lower portion of the container side walls at ever increasing distances from each other for limiting container bulge when carrying products having varying effects on the container. With such an arrangement of straps, economically and environmentally desirable single and double wall corrugated paperboard can be used where typically triple wall and laminated paperboard containers are used.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for controlling the propulsion and steering of a machine. The machine includes a hydrostatic system that drives a pair of ground engaging traction devices. An electronic controller receives operator signals indicative of a desired travel speed and direction, and determines a desired rotational speed of the ground engaging traction devices. The electronic controller produces command signals indicative of the determined speeds to regulate the speed of the ground engaging traction devices to the desired speed.

Abstract: Design and implementation of an ‘Auto Multi-Project Server System’, which automates the tasks of Project Management Coordination, for organizational work-group team members. The ‘Auto Multi-Project Server’, referred to as AMPS, consists of a core piece of software running on a host server computer system and interacting with a messaging system such as electronic mail, fax etc. Once the AMPS system is configured for the work environment, all interactions with it by work-group team members is via messages. First the AMPS system compiles multi-project plans into a multi-project database, and tracks the ownership of projects, tasks and resources within the plans. Second the AMPS system performs automatic checking of resource requests, if resource availability limits are exceeded then resources are re-allocated to projects based on priorities, and project plans are accordingly changed Third the database is processed periodically to send out reminder follow-ups and project status reports.

Abstract: A military or police helmet system 20 has a flexible plastic liner 24 mounted to the wearer's head 26 by a strap assembly 28 . A ballistic shell 30 with a shallow front wall is fastened to the liner 24 and an eye shield assembly 32 is pivotably mounted to the liner for movement between a deployed position and a retracted position between the shell and the liner. The liner has a rear segment connected to a cap segment, with cut-out slots which allow the liner to apply pressure to the wearer's neck. A chin strap is slidable on two stiff side straps which have curved segments allowing the chin strap to move with the user's jaw. A protective face guard assembly 34 engages with the liner and has openings covered by resilient sheets which permit a marksman feel a rifle stock through the face guard.

Preferably, the harness uses five pieces of webbing, namely, two curved webbing shoulder straps, two identical leg straps, and a subpelvic strap. The harness can also have a spreading back pad which helps to keep the shoulder straps from riding up onto the neck of the wearer.

A protective garment for a hazardous environment is made from the fluid-impervious sheet and has a breathing apparatus, which comprises elements inside the protective garment, elements outside the protective garment, and a tube connecting the inside and outside elements. The tube penetrates the region outlined by the elastomeric grommet and fits tightly through the elastomeric grommet, which provides a fluid-impervious seal around the tube.

One horizontal tube exits from the tee connector to accept water from the conventional water feed valve. The second horizontal tube feeds into a reservoir mounted on a valve which is open on top and attached to an arm of a ball float. The third vertical tube passes down into the water overflow pipe inside the box container. A nylon cord attached to the side of the valve body passes through a ring located at the bottom of the box container to the flushing lever. The high vacuum for exhausting the foul air is created by a powerful air handler apparatus connected externally outside the toilet room, and controlled by the conventional wall mounted Light/fan switch or a remote RF switch.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for freeing an obstruction from a plumbing fixture using a flexible diaphragm. The diaphragm is constructed of flexible membrane and is adhered to a top ring of the plumbing fixture. The diaphragm is operated by allowing air into the space between the diaphragm and the wastewater through an air valve and then pushing and pulling the diaphragm to create forces of air that dislodge the obstruction.

Abstract: A waste transfer system includes a toilet bowl, a discharge pipe, and a hopper. The hopper is positioned between the toilet bowl and the discharge pipe. A first valve is disposed between the toilet bowl and the hopper. A second valve is disposed between the hopper and the discharge pipe. A source of fluid is in communication with the hopper for pressurizing the hopper to a predetermined pressure. A method of transferring waste through the waste transfer system includes the step of opening the first valve to permit the passage of waste from the toilet bowl to the hopper and subsequently closing the first valve. The method additionally includes the step of pressurizing the hopper while the first and second valves are closed. The method further includes the step of opening the second valve to thereby force the waste from the hopper into and through the discharge pipe.

A first closure fasts the base cover layer and the middle cover layer; and a second closure fasts the middle cover layer and the top cover layer together whereby an integral high-profile sleep system is provided with an upper air sleep surface which can be adjusted to provide optimum sleep posture. An inverted seam secures the top panel to the border portion of a mattress cover to eliminate bumps and creases found in conventional welted top seam. Manufacturing costs may be reduced by eliminating the need for an expensive table-mounted tape edge closure machine and/or skilled operators, since the inverted seam may be flay sewn with a conventional sewing machine or even hand-stitched. Alternatively, a conventional tape edge machine can be used with less-skilled labor and or reduced tape/welting material, as all of the stitches and welting are hidden inside the mattress by the inverted seam.

Rotation of the wing screw serves to increase or decrease resilient pressure on the wiper arm.

A biasing mechanism is provided for biasing the upper body not to fall down toward the second body due to the weight thereof and keep it at an arbitrary position between the open and close positions. The biasing mechanism includes a spring member and applies a first biasing force to the upper body by linearly stretching the spring member. When the upper body is in the vicinity of the lower body, the biasing mechanism further generates a second biasing force to be applied to the upper body by bending the linearly stretched spring member.

Abstract: A securing device includes a body adapted to securely connect to the primary plate and two arms vertically extending out from two opposite ends of the body. Each of the arms has an assembly hole to adapt to align with opposite ends of a tubular connector of the primary plate so that when the shaft extends into the tubular tube, the two arms are secured to the shaft. When a radial force is acting on the shaft, the force is compromised by the two arms of the securing device such that damping of the screen is minimized.

In the opened position, the primary jointing frame and the secondary jointing frame are pivotally moved and extended to open pivotally move the container cover away from the container body to form a wide opening angle with respect to horizontal. In the closed position, the primary joint frame and the secondary jointing frame are pivotally moved to receive in the storage cavity through the sliding slot so as to pivotally move the container cover to close the storage cavity.

The first and second components interfere each other to rotate synchronously. An elastic component is disposed between the lower portion of the cylinder body and the bottom face of the third component.

At least one pre-assembly leg is secured to the shank at a predetermined offset distance from the head. A lower head having a bore formed therethrough so that it may be received over the shank of the fastener is secured to a distal end of the at least one pre-assembly leg and actuates the pre-assembly leg so as to double the pre-assembly leg upon itself and simultaneously bias it into contact with the first object, thereby securing the fastener within a bore formed through the first object in the predetermined orientation.
