Patent number: 6824383Abstract: A method includes the step of extinguishing a flame fired from a burner in a reaction zone upon determining that a sensed combustion chamber temperature is at or above the auto-ignition temperature of a fuel. A subsequent step is performed before the sensed combustion chamber temperature drops below the auto-ignition temperature. The subsequent step provides a flow of the fuel through the burner and into the combustion chamber through a reaction zone outlet. This initiates diffuse combustion of the fuel by auto-ignition in the combustion chamber in the absence of a flame fired from the burner in the reaction zone.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2003Date of Patent: November 30, 2004Assignee: North American Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Bruce E. Patent number: 6824420Abstract: There is provided an electric connector for simplifying the structure of the cable holding mechanism without using a special cable holding piece, reducing the number of man-hours by simplifying the operation of attaching the cable holding mechanism to a connector housing. The electric connector with a cable holding mechanism comprises a plug proper having a plurality of connector terminals fitted therein at an inner opening thereof and a cable drawing face from which wires connected to the connector terminals is drawn out, a cover cap to be fitted to the plug proper in a state where the cable drawing face is covered therewith and the cable is drawn outside, and a cable holding mechanism formed on a wall face of the cover cap. The cable holding mechanism is made up of two vertical grooves each having a width in which a flexible strip-like piece of a cable bundling piece is inserted at a position in the vicinity of a cable drawing opening formed at the inner face of the cover cap.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2002Date of Patent: November 30, 2004Assignee: J.S.T. Patent number: 6824421Abstract: While an operation of fitting a male connector housing (10) and a female connector housing (20) on each other is being performed, a connection locking piece (28) is disposed between elastic arms (32). The elastic arms (32) are prevented from elastically deforming inward or in a closing direction. Consequently an interference between a protection wall (29) and an outward projected part (37) is maintained, and the connection locking piece (28) interferes with an inclined surface (36A). The interference securely prevents the pressing operation of a fit-on detection member (30) forward from being performed. When the male connector housing (10) and the female connector housing (20) are normally fit on each other, the connection locking piece (28) is disposed away from the inclined surfaces (32A) and (36A). Thus, there is no interference between the protection wall (29) and the outward projected part (37) and between the connection locking piece (28) and the inclined surface (36A).Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2003Date of Patent: November 30, 2004Assignee: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventor: Hiroyuki Oka
