In one example, the loading indicator includes an elastic shaft disposed within a compartment in the rear section of the barrel and a feeler portion coupled to the elastic shaft, wherein the elastic shaft is loaded to cause the feeler portion to project into the cartridge chamber and wherein the loading of the elastic shaft allows the feeler portion to be displaced when a cartridge is placed into the cartridge chamber. The example implementation further includes an indicator element adjacent the feeler portion and coupled to the elastic shaft, wherein the indicator element projects from the cartridge chamber when the feeler portion is displaced by a cartridge.

Each ring airfoil projectile is coupled to a sabot, the ring airfoil projectile and sabot mounted to a housing in a cartridge form. The cartridge has a length which is less than its diameter. The launcher includes a receiver defining a cartridge receiving area and a tubular passage through which the ring airfoil is launched from a fired cartridge. The launcher includes a trigger mechanism for firing a cartridge. The launcher includes an ejector for ejecting the housing of a spent cartridge from the receiving area and a loader for loading a new cartridge into the receiving area. The cartridge may be loaded from a magazine connected to the receiver.

The cylinder includes a main cylinder body and a removable cylinder cap. The main cylinder body includes a number of chambers, each of which having a projectile portion, a propellant portion and a primer portion. The cylinder cap includes a number of captured firing pins positioned therein. During operation, the cylinder cap is allowed to axially translate relative to the main cylinder body. A method of muzzle-loading the cylinder of the invention using modern smokeless gunpowder and a primer is also provided and is facilitated by the provision of a loading plate.

Abstract: The present invention advantageously provides a shotgun sight system to assist a one-eyed shooter. The shotgun sight system is comprised of a front sight and a back sight. The sights are raised above the top of the shotgun barrel to allow an increased field of view below the barrel to shooters with the habit of closing one eye. The front sight is comprised of a front vertical plate mounted to a channel that may be coupled to the ribbing of a shotgun. A cylindrical sight is coupled along the top end of the front vertical plate. The back sight is further comprised of a back vertical plate mounted to a channel that may be coupled to the ribbing of a shotgun.

Abstract: A fishing rig for live bait is disclosed. The rig comprises a leader to which is attached a hook and a hook line. The hook line is configured so as to comprise an adjustable loop to which a second hook is attached. By adjusting the size of the loop the length of the hook line is also adjusted. The invention makes it possible to optimize the hook line for all sizes of bait fish. In addition, because the bait fish is attached directly to the strike hook, a sport fish taking the bait has a high probability of taking the hook as well. Other embodiments are disclosed which include a plurality of adjustable loops and hooks.

In response to a periodic reminder issued by the central administrator, a person manually inspects each inspection station about the predefined inspection area for signs of pest infestation. Each inspection station comprises a housing having a transparent portion on at least one side thereof. The housing is able to receive a pest attractant or food source. The housing also has openings therein to allow a pest to access the area where the pest attractant or food source is able to be received. In this manner, the person can inspect any received pest attractant or food source via the transparent portion of the housing.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing Diesel grade fuel of plant origin by transesterifying a refined vegetable oil in a homogenous phase with a C1-C4 alkanol in the presence of an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent with a boiling point of 40-200° C. and a catalyst to form a first polar phase comprising glycerol by-product and a first apolar phase comprising transesterified fuel, non-transesterified vegetable oil, and aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent, separating the first polar phase and the first apolar phase, and refining the fuel from the first apolar phase, wherein the C1-C4 alcohol is used in an amount selected from the group consisting of: a stoichiometric amount; and an excess not exceeding 30% of an stoichiometric amount, and the aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent is used in an amount of at least 0.2 parts by volume relative to the unit volume of the refined vegetable oil.

Abstract: Metal oxide-containing dispersions and methods of producing the same are provided. Generally, dispersions according to the invention comprise respective quantities of surfactant, metal oxide, and carrier. Methods according to the invention generally comprise providing a quantity of metal oxide particles of having a desired size suitable for being dispersed in a carrier with the aid of a surfactant. If necessary, the metal oxide particles may be mixed with the carrier and then undergo a pulverization step whereby the average particle size is reduced to the desired level, or the metal oxide particles may be pulverized prior to addition of the carrier. Dispersions made in accordance with the present invention generally exhibit excellent stability in that the metal oxide particles remain suspended in the dispersion for at least about one month.

Abstract: The fire log comprises an organic fibre base that is over-saturated with vegetable cooking oil. The vegetable oil is contained and sealed therein by a casing made of the vegetable wax. More specifically, the fire log is over saturated with 65%-75% by weight of vegetable oil. The vegetable oil is used vegetable cooking oil. The organic fibre base represents about between 20%-30% by weight and consists of compressed paper-based products such as cardboard, newsprint and recyclable paper. The vegetable wax casing represents about between 1-5% of its weight. In another aspect of the present invention, the organic fibre base is made of broken fibres and interstices, and the vegetable oil is infused therein while these fibres are dilated from their natural states. In yet another aspect, the organic fibre base is formed in a perforated cylinder whereby a bark-like appearance is imprinted on its surface.

Abstract: A new type of landscape edging device, namely RIM EDGING, is invented for mulching around the base of a tree and lawn/mulch edge control. The present invention, RIM EDGING, is a plurality of sections of concrete block that are connected together in a rim-like configuration. Each section comprises a recessed top surface, a wrap-around flange along the inner circumference, and joint connectors for coupling with one another. These design features along with the sturdy construction make the RIM EDGING more effective than the existing edging devices available today for (a) better care of trees, (b) better lawn/mulch edge control, (c) reduced yardwork, (d) reduced cost and maintenance of landscape edging, (e) enhanced appearance of the landscape.

The performer reduces coking in associated fuel cells and other parts of a fuel cell system.

Abstract: An impact resistant tilt window assembly includes a window frame with side jambs that have legs that extend in the direction of the exterior of the frame, an upper sash, a lower sash that moves vertically and tilts inwardly and tilt latch assemblies that are positioned on the lower sash, each tilt latch assembly includes a latch bolt with a nose end that includes a notch that is sized to engage the associated jamb leg when the lower sash is in a vertical orientation. The notch has an interior leg that moves along an interior side of the jamb leg and an exterior leg that extends behind an exterior side of the jamb leg and moves along the jamb leg when the sash moves vertically. The window assembly may further include U-shaped reinforcing inserts that are positioned within the jambs such that the tilt latch assemblies engage the inserts when the lower sash is in the closed position.

The actuator is moveable to an unlocked position wherein the rotor assembly is disengaged from the keeper, and is further moveable to a tiltable position wherein the connector retracts the latch bolt from the master frame.

Abstract: A horizontal door assembly is provided using a gas spring as a lifting mechanism for the door leaf. A special bracket having a number of pivot pin openings is employed to rotatably couple the gas spring to the door frame, whereby different lifting forces can be applied to the door by the user of the door by adjusting the position of the gas spring in the bracket. A brace is also provided to support the bracket and gas spring to enhance operation of the door. A resilient material such as EPDM is used to decelerate movement of the door leaf to the open position and provide a stable door leaf when in the open position. Sections of the door assembly are provided with screw studs to facilitate on-site construction and packaging and shipping of the door assembly.

Nib end fits within retaining member to secure gutter clip and gutter in place along the eaves. L-portion fits between the gutter and building where an additional piece of board is included in the construction. The gutter clip is scored between the back portion and L-portion allowing separation, such as when no additional piece of board is found along the eaves.

Abstract: An insect barrier is variable in peripheral dimensions, and can be adapted for installation into a catch basin opening having a ledge to support a grate cover. The barrier frame consists of substantially planar corner members and side members, each having respective channel portions. A corner member is comprised of two female connectors, which have an inner and outer folded tab. The side member is comprised of two male connectors having flanges for interfacing with the tabs of the corner members. The male connector of the side member is placed into the female connector of the corner member, during assembly of the closed frame to define an opening. The inner and outer folded tabs of the female connector can be compressed into the flanges of the side member to secure, via friction, the connection between corner and side members. The assembled frame is completed such that adjacent respective channel portions abut to form a continuous channel.

Each panel has a plurality of service conduits extending therethrough for passing all of the service requirements for the building, e.g. electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, vacuum etc, without having to cut or drill through the existing structure. Each vertical wall panel has upper and lower connector blocks for mating with the horizontal ceiling and base panels, respectively. The connector blocks also align the service conduits of the wall panel with the service conduits of the ceiling and base panels.

Fluid that leaks between the roof and the formed coved piece may drain via gravity down the elongated angular member and into an interior channel where it is drained off the trailer. Fluid that leaks between the first partial H-channel and the elongated angular member drains through the J-channel of the elongated angular member to the front or rear and off of the trailer.
