  • Publication number: 20050034306
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a sectionally reinforced member made of a tubular hollow profile (1) made of metal. For sectional reinforcement of the hollow profile (1), a sleeve (3) made of metal is slid onto the hollow profile (1) and on the entire area of the section to be reinforced is bonded with bonding agent (2), so that the wall of the tubular hollow section (1) and the sleeve (3) as a result of the bonding agent (2) form a bond. In order to facilitate sliding the sleeve (3) onto the hollow profile (1), the sleeve (3) is enlarged by heating, and/or the external dimensions of the hollow section (1) are reduced by cooling. Forming the hollow section (1) comprising the sleeve (3) into a member takes place prior to a finishing additional treatment step for the purpose of curing the bonding agent (2).

Abstract: The illuminated safety razor has a substantially transparent handle and a razor head adapted to hold a razor blade cartridge. A high-intensity LED disposed in the razor head illuminates the area to be shaved. The LED may be molded within the razor head in various orientations dependent upon the contour of the razor head and the desired lighting effect. The handle open at the rear end, is adapted to receive at least one battery. A threaded end cap engages the opening, abutting the battery and contains a micro-pushbutton switch. Depressing a waterproof diaphragm covering the rear of the end cap toggles the switch, supplying a voltage to the LED, thereby illuminating the razor and the area to be shaved.

  • Publication number: 20050034308
Abstract: Apparatus for supporting a coaxial cable, or the like, and effecting cutting and stripping operations to remove a portion of one or more layers which concentrically cover a central conductor. A single blade, having a circular cutting edge, is moved in an orbital path about the cable with rotary motion of a motor translated to orbital motion of the blade through a plurality of plates relatively movable on crossed, linear, roller bearings and a shaft eccentrically affixed to the motor with the shaft and motor axes at an acute angle to one another. The shaft extends through a spherical bearing mounted in one of the plates, thereby translating nutational motion of the shaft to orbiting motion of the plate which is directly attached to the blade. A unique clamping assembly includes a pair of jaws having respective gear racks engaging a single pinion gear on a motor output shaft for linear movement of the jaws by equal distances in opposite directions.

Abstract: A utensil for scooping, scraping, measuring, pouring and serving includes a main body having a generally flat bottom and side walls extending up from the bottom to a top edge in surrounding relation to an interior reservoir. The top edge is preferably tapered in thickness to provide a scraping blade which generally conforms to and seals against the surface of a bowl, dish, pan or the like to thoroughly scrape and remove a substance therefrom. A pour spout formed with a non-drip lip extends from one of the side walls, along the top edge, and allows the scooped substance to be easily poured into a storage container without spilling the substance. A handle extends from the main body and, in a preferred embodiment, is offset towards the pour spout side to reduce the likelihood of contact of the user's fingers with the substance when the top edge opposite of the spout is used to scrape and scoop the substance.

Abstract: The drywall measuring tape is a tape measure extendably contained within a housing, including a laser light source, such as a laser diode, located on each side of the housing. Each laser light source projects a focused light beam perpendicular to the extended tape measure, and in a plane parallel to the housing base. Thus, when the tape measure is extended across a wall with the housing base flush against the wall, one of the laser light sources projects a reference spot onto the ceiling, while the other projects onto the floor. This allows a measurement to be taken horizontally across a wall in reference to a point on the ceiling or floor. Additionally, the drywall measuring tape includes a T-square bracket on the housing base, disposed so that the drywall measuring tape can be quickly aligned with a surface edge for measurement perpendicular to the surface edge.

Abstract: An identification tag includes a marker portion having first and second faces and first and second inside surfaces. Personalized identification indicia are applied to at least the first face, and a pocket assembly is attached to the first inside surface. The pocket assembly has an opening to receive a card bearing personal identification information, and other information. An attachment mechanism connected to the marker portion operates to secure the identification tag to a bag, a piece of luggage, or other personal belonging.

Abstract: A self cleaning trigger stop connector & trigger connector for semi-automatic firearms that have an enclosed striker assembly. Incorporated into firearms without any structural changes, the trigger stop connector is designed to increase firing speed and prevent a fulcrum effect caused when a trigger mechanism travels a distance beyond the point of firing of the firearm, thus increasing target precision when discharging the firearm, a hole designed to self clean the trigger stop connector or trigger connector and trigger bar during operation, lessen the trigger pull weight and act as a reservoir for lubricants to increase reliability of the pistol. The single tab trigger stop connector, replacing a multiple leg or common non trigger stop connector, is designed with a specific contact point to prevent over travel of the trigger bar when operating in cooperation with the trigger of the firearm.

Abstract: A gun barrel that can be used to fire projectiles. The gun barrel may be used in satellite-launching operations, in artillery operations, or in fire-fighting operations. The gun barrel has an outer support layer, an inner support layer lining the bore of the gun barrel and a compressible material disposed between the outer support layer and inner support layer. The support layers may be steel, and the compressible material may be concrete. In one embodiment, the breech portion is made of a metal, for example, steel, and the remainder of the gun barrel is made of an inner support layer an outer support layer and a layer of compressible material therebetween. The gun barrel of this invention is less expensive to make and lighter than a similarly-sized gun barrel made of steel, while being sufficiently strong to launch large projectiles.

Abstract: An improved tip-up flag device having a generally disk-shaped housing with a plurality of raised portions on the upper surface thereof which are substantially hollow to create corresponding cavities on the underside. A retaining and releasing assembly, connected to a reel spool assembly, is rotatably mounted in the housing for movement between a retracted position and an in-use position. When retracted, the reel spool assembly fits to be at least flush within one of the cavities. Other of the raised portions form a handle, an integrated tackle compartment and a flag securing post. The height, size and positioning of each of these raised portions is such that multiple devices may be evenly stacked and held against one another for convenient storage and transport.

Abstract: The disclosed apparatus can be adapted to work in most fishing lures. The apparatus allows the manufacture to adjust the sound(s) emitted by said fishing lure over a wide range, from several thousand hertz down to tens of hertz or lower. The hertz produced by one embodiment of the apparatus can be lowered to the point that the targeted game fish can interpret the action induced into the fishing lure by the disclosed invention more as movement of the fishing lure rather than sound emitted from the fishing lure. The apparatus obtains the energy it requires to operate from the movement of the fishing lure. One embodiment of the disclosed invention comprises a generic shell (top water fishing lure shell), a tuning fork and a pendulum. The stem of tuning fork is mounted to the inside wall of the shell, the pendulum is rotatably mounted to the interior wall of the shell in such a manner as to allow the weighted end of the pendulum to strike the tuning fork while the fishing lure is in use.

Abstract: A one-piece tubular ferrule affixed to a first rod section end with a first rod section end fit and bonded into a tubular opening coaxial with the rod section. A wrap such as a thread may also tighten the ferrule around the first rod section end. A second ferrule tubular opening coaxial with the first opening removably receives a second rod section end therein. The second ferrule tubular opening is uniformly lined with a pliant, mildly adhesive liner secured to the opening inner wall. The liner then engages the second rod section end in retaining it in the ferrule until withdrawn under pulling force of removal. The second rod section end typically is prepared with a thread wrap around its circumference to provide a nonsmooth surface that provides an improved engaging surface for the mildly adhesive liner to grasp.
