With the NC processor, the Y-axis cutting tool is mounted on a sliding base above an X-axis table in a way allowed to move back and forth in a Y-axis direction, while a grinding unit is installed in close proximity to the sliding base. A slider moves back and forth in synchronized relation with rotation of a work spindle to first let the Y-axis cutting tool cut the workpiece into a preselected contour, and then cause a buffing material of the grinding unit to grind a work surface of the workpiece into a high-quality surface finish in conformity with a programmed contour while the workpiece remains held intact in a chucking device.

A strain gage portion is simultaneously formed on each of all the diaphragms. The fixing plate is then disassembled from the jig. In this step, the substrates with the strain gage portions, i.e., strain-detecting devices, are separated from the fixing plate.

    Abstract: The present invention is a device for printing an outline of an opening to be cut in a wall to facilitate the installation of a GEM electrical box in the wall. The outline is substantially rectangular having a first and second set of sides. The first set of sides is shorter than the second set of sides and includes a semi-oval portion located at the middle of each side. The second set of sides have a semi-oval portion located at the end of each side. The device includes a rubberstamp configured to print the outline on the wall, and also includes a handle and a pair of levels for locating (leveling) the device prior to imprinting the outline on the wall. The rubberstamp can includes an inking means for replenishing ink to the rubberstamp. The device can also include a spring assembly so that the rubberstamp can initially be located at a position on the wall without imprinting the outline on the wall, but will print the outline on the wall upon the application of pressure to the rubberstamp.

    Abstract: A lumber drying kiln employs outside air pressure uses a flexible collapsing bag or cover alone or in combination with walls. The collapsing bag seals against a base to maintain the vacuum. The air pressure against the flexible top keeps the lumber layers from warping or cupping during drying. The lumber stack has alternating layers of hot plates or stickers separating layers of lumber. A bag having an open bottom and made of nylon-reinforced rubber or other strong flexible material is placed over the wood and sealed to the stainless steel platform. A vacuum pump is connected with the bag by means of a manifold and operated to remove air from the enclosed lumber stack, the vacuum strengthening the seal between the base and the bottom of the bag. This chamber design is easily scaled up or down to provide a desired drying capacity.

In accordance with the process a feed pulp is delivered to a jet drier. The jet drier singulates and dries the feed pulp. The singulated and dried fibers are collected from the jet drier. The feed pulp may be treated with a treatment substance. The jet drier may be maintained at negative pressure. The product fibers may have low knot count, a low fines count, as well improved kink, curl and twist. The apparatus for carrying out the process may include a pretreatment station for supplying the treatment substance, a pulp feed device designed for pulp, a pulp feed device designed for pulp and foam suspensions, and/or a fiber separation station having a vacuum conveyor.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an insole for footwear. The insole comprises a top foil and a bottom foil in between which a number of cavities are formed containing liquid or gel. The top foil and/or bottom foil are equipped with fabric which in the plane of the fabric has a tensile strength that is higher than the tensile strength of the top and/or the bottom foil. Thereby, the fabric prevents creep of the plastic of which the top foil and/or the bottom foil usually are made. Preferentially, the fabric is joined with the foil such that the fabric extends on the outside or at least to the outside the foil. Thereby, the fabric constitutes a layer between the sole and the bottom of the footwear and, respectively, between the sole and the foot or the sock/stocking on the foot. Thereby, it is possible to select the frictional conditions such that the sole lies firmly in the footwear and such that the foot slides easily on the sole in order to reduce the formation of heat to the foot as a result of friction.

The display may also include a light emitting source and a filter for selectively changing the color of light emitted into the container.
