  • Patent number: 6868799
Abstract: A ramp assembly for a pontoon boat, or the like, on which a boat user can come and go from the pontoon boat without having to get wet. A cylindrical float, rotatably attached to the free end of the ramp, keeps it and at least one user thereon afloat. Moreover, the float acts like a roller during docking, enabling one to move the ramp, in its extended position, up and onto the shore at most beaches. The ramp assembly comprises a support structure attached to the underside of the boat and a ramp including a platform which is slideably connected to the support structure by a shaft. Bearing blocks suspend the shaft and the platform, which is pivotally connected thereto, horizontally between a pair of rails. Riding on elongated bearing surface tracks mounted within the rails, the bearing blocks allow the platform to be easily extended outwardly from the support structure for use or, alternately, retracted into it for storage. The platform can be readily extended or retracted, as needed, manually.

  • Patent number: 6868800
Abstract: The inductively coupled plasma source and antenna geometry are significant factors in determining plasma and process uniformity inside the chamber. Growing demands for processing larger and larger wafers or LCD substrates and providing higher and higher degrees of plasma uniformity challenge the current ICP type antenna designs and push development of sources. Branching RF antenna, featuring a plurality of major and minor branches, provides improved coverage of processing area, reduced standing wave effect, improved uniformity of inductively coupled electromagnetic field, more uniform plasma production, and more homogeneous processing conditions throughout the whole processing area.

  • Patent number: 6868803
Abstract: A heated pet enclosure which allows for a heated area for a pet to lie upon during the cold weather seasons. The shelter utilizes its design to allow for the heating components to be packaged, shipped and displayed at the retail store utilizing minimum space. More specifically, the space which is wasted in a two piece plastic pet enclosure when an inverted roof section is placed in an upright base section, has now been designed and utilized to hold the necessary components for the heated pet enclosure. This new packaging innovation allows the heated pet enclosure to be packaged, shipped and displayed in a single grouping instead of multiple packaging.

  • Patent number: 6868805
Abstract: A combustion chamber for a chiller includes a burner and igniter which are maintained in the horizontal position. The horizontal positioning is implemented by a steel casting, which includes a thick flange portion. The thick flange portion is between the combustion chamber and the outside surface, therefore keeping the outside surface cooler. The steel casting has a mitered extension of the combustion chamber, which allows for more efficient heat transfer. By orienting the burner and igniter in the steel casting in the horizontal position, one eliminates prior art ceramic annular cooling devices. The horizontal orientation enables the overall height of the generator to be decreased and also allows for easy access during installation and maintenance of the burner and igniter.

  • Patent number: 6868809
Abstract: The control of the coolant flow is accomplished through valving or by adjusting the pumping speed of a water pump and a water motor, or a combination of all three elements. During normal operation, where engine cooling is not required, the speed control coupling maintains a slow and constant water pump speed at all engine-operating speeds. The valve is maintained to stop coolant flow from entering the radiator while allowing coolant to flow through a heater. If engine cooling is required, the valve is actuated such that coolant is circulated to the engine and through the radiator. If air conditioning is required, the speed control coupling simply increases the water pump speed and the fan speed while the valve is set to bypass coolant flow to the engine. If air conditioning and engine cooling are required, the valve is actuated to allow coolant flow to the engine.

  • Patent number: 6868822
Abstract: A non-reciprocating engine comprising a hollow cylindrical shaft driver (13) located in a cylindrical stator cavity (14) of a stator. A number of expansion chambers (43) form between the outer wall of the shaft driver, the stator wall and movable dividers (25) which extend from the stator to bear on the shaft driver. The expansion chambers expand and contract during operation of the engine. An output shaft passes centrally through the stator cavity and shaft driver and has offset bearings (34) which bear on the inside surface of the shaft driver. Inlet ports in a removable inlet end plate of the stator allow pressurised air or air/fuel mixture, for example, to be introduced into the expansion chambers. Sequential expansion and contraction of the chambers around the circumference of the shaft driver causes a combination of orbital and rotational movement of the shaft driver and consequential rotation of the output shaft.

The battery supplies electricity to an electronic controlled device such as a fuel pump for starting the engine. When the engine (1) carries out a rating operation, electricity is supplied from the generator (22). When the engine speed in a low speed range, only a pump (15) is driven. When the engine speed is exceeds the low speed range, the pump (15) is stopped, and an injectors, (10) and (27) are driven to be prevented from lapping over each other. When the engine speed reaches a high-speed range, the pump (15) is again driven. Electricity consumption at a time of starting is restricted by driving the electronic controlled devices at different timings until the engine (1) operation becomes self-sustaining.

  • Patent number: 6868835
Abstract: A multicylinder internal combustion engine has a valve chamber containing a valve train for opening and closing intake valves and exhaust valves, and decompression mechanisms. First, second and third cylinders are arranged in a row parallel to an axial direction parallel to the axis of a camshaft. An exhaust cam for opening and closing the exhaust valve, which is opened and closed by the decompression mechanism, for the second cylinder is not coincident with respect to the axial direction with an abutment end of the exhaust valve with which a rocker arm driven by the exhaust cam comes into contact, and is coincident with respect to the axial direction with the decompression mechanism. Thus, a space for placing the decompression mechanism is secured while suppressing increase in the length of the camshaft and in the longitudinal size of the valve chamber. Consequently, the internal combustion engine can be formed in compact construction.

Abstract: A suction jet pump for delivering fuel from a tank to the internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle is driven by fuel flowing back from the engine and delivers fuel from a tank into a collecting receptacle of a fuel delivery unit. The suction power of the pump is not limited by the propulsive jet lying against the housing wall so that the entire propulsive jet surface is no longer available for the entrainment of fuel, as in the prior art, but instead the fuel is aspirated from intake openings, which are disposed opposite each other in pairs. This permits the suction power to be noticeably increased.

  • Patent number: 6868837
Abstract: An engine system includes an engine, a fuel system that communicates with the engine, and a controller that communicates with the fuel system. The controller controls a first quantity of liquid fuel to the engine at a first A/F ratio and a second quantity of vapor fuel to the engine at a second A/F ratio during a predetermined period after start-up. The liquid and vapor fuel mixture has a third A/F ratio. The controller determines an available A/F ratio of vapor fuel within the fuel tank and performs a comparison with a target A/F ratio range. The second quantity is set to zero if the A/F ratio of the vapor fuel is outside of the target A/F ratio range. The controller adjusts the first and second quantities based on a comparison between an exhaust A/F ratio and a target exhaust A/F ratio.
