The interior bushing unit receives a rotatable shaft, has a second outer diameter of I, which is less than D, and a height J, which is less than H. The expanding unit extends from within the upper control unit and between the outer and interior bushing units with protrusions below the outer and interior bushing units. The locking mechanism is interconnected to the upper control unit. The inventive Halloween costume comprises several garment member portions which completely define the appearance of the Halloween character. The insulative material is disposed over at least a portion of the first garment base member portion. Another portion of the costume comprises a venting material which functions as a ventilator for the Halloween costume. At least one decorative member is secured to the Halloween costume. Abstract: A jewelry displaying arrangement uses a knot of a necktie as a support for a stone, medallion, or other article displayed on the necktie. This arrangement relies on a foundation shaped and sized as a stylized triangle or trapezoid so that it fits into the folds of the necktie knot. The foundation may be formed from a thin sheet of material having the surface shape of a necktie knot, and may have two or more legs extending upwardly from a base portion adjacent which the ornament, or other item to be displayed, is attached to the foundation. These legs provide the foundation with a wide enough upper end so as to prohibit the foundation from falling through the knot. The ornament may be attached to the foundation by any of a number of methods so that when the ornament holder is worn the ornament protrudes or drops below the knot into a visible position.

Abstract: A glove with electrodes comprises a pair of flat electrodes 3, 4 which are disposed with a space therebetween on the surface of the palm side of a glove body 2 which is made of an electrical insulating material, an operation panel 30 which is fitted in the vicinity of the wrist on the back or the palm of the glove body 2 to control to supply electricity to the flat electrodes 3, 4, and lead wires 5, 6 which are fitted to the glove body 2 and electrically connect output terminals 40 of the operation panel 30 and the respective flat electrodes 3, 4. The respective flat electrodes 3, 4 are touched with a little space between them to a portion of the human body, and a current is passed to the portion for treatment. Thus, the glove body 2 can be put on one hand only to easily treat from a wide area to a small portion by passing a current to any portion of the human body.

Abstract: A friction control article including a backing layer having a first surface with an array of at least 100 upstanding stems per square inch and a second surface. At least a portion of the upstanding stems is an elastomeric material and the stems have an aspect ratio of at least 1.25. The first surface has a static coefficient of friction when dry of at least 0.6 and a static coefficient of friction when wet within 20% of the static coefficient of friction when dry. The first surface has a peel strength and a tensile strength of substantially zero when engaged with another slip control article. The first surface has a relatively high shear strength when engaged with another slip control article. The high shear forces are due primarily to the frictional properties of the elastomeric materials, not a mechanical interlock of the stems, such as on a mechanical fastener.

Abstract: Protective helmet comprising a two piece shell, an electric motor and impeller useful for creating a positive environment in the head space, and a filter for removing particulates and other substances. The impeller introduces atmospheric air into an air channel defined by two detachably attached shell pieces. The air is pushed through a particulate filter in the air channel and then through at least one aperture into the head space. A heating element may be used to heat the air flow.

Abstract: A thermal lining includes a first layer, a second layer overlappedly attached to the first layer in an edge to edge manner to form a construction pocket between the first and second layers wherein the construction pocket is shaped and sized for receiving in a storage compartment of a wear, and a cooling agent, having water absorbing ability, disposed in the construction pocket to form a heat insulation layer between the first and second layers. Therefore, the wearer is able to soak the thermal lining into the water, in such a manner that the water is permeated through the first layer into the construction pocket and absorbed by the cooling agent therein. The cooling agent with the water absorbed therein is adapted for receiving heat energy and gradually releasing the heat energy by evaporating the water, so as to provide the cooling effect for the wearer.

The shutter plate has apertures conforming in dimension and position to the vent openings so that that the apertures are in substantial alignment with the vents when the shutter plate is in a first position. The shutter plate is selectively moveable so that the vents are opened or closed.

The front and lateral lens are fixedly adhered by an L-shaped or T-shaped leak-proof gasket of a soft material with high diaphaneity so as to prevent a crack or water leakage between the lenses due to a bump or impact.

A bending promotion portion is formed on a groove bottom between neighboring convex portions. The bending promotion portion is composed of a small bend protruding from the face side, and the cover is freely bent as to be convex on the face side.

The urine collection device includes a urine collection receptacle for receiving a fluid from a human. The urine collection receptacle may be coupled to a reservoir with a conduit. The reservoir may be a disposable plastic bag having markings for determining the amount of urine contained in the bag. The urine collection receptacle may have multiple configurations and may be configured to receive urine from a female or male human, or both. The urine collection device may also include a pump for pumping urine from the urine collection receptacle to the reservoir without components of the pump contacting the urine being pumped.

Abstract: An auxiliary toilet seat includes a seat portion that is positionable on top of a toilet stool rim. Such a seat portion has an integrally disposed flange extending rearwardly from the opening. The apparatus includes a back portion pivotally connected to the flange that has a front surface including a plurality of resilient support members extending forwardly therefrom and a horizontally disposed support plate extending rearwardly therefrom. A rigid fastening member including opposed end portions is positioned through the support plate for effectively securing the toilet seat to the toilet stool. A plurality of arm rests are connected to the back portion wherein such arm rests are movable along a plurality of arcuate paths and a linear path. The arm rests include a plurality of elongated support portions and a plurality of couplings operably connected to the support portions.

The plug lid is dropped into a notch formed in such a way that the circumferential edge of the plug lid becomes lower than the bottom surface of the bath tub. The packing closely contacts a packing close-contact surface narrowed from the bottom surface of the notch in a downward direction. The bottom part of the notch is formed into the horizontal plane and the plug lid is supported while it is not inclined under application of weight (such as a hydraulic pressure or an artificial pressure applied by a user) and the packing is protected from unnecessary crushing force.

A spa structure includes a compartment defining a location that receives a device to be used in conjunction with a spa, and a surface coupled with the compartment and matching a shape of a skirt of the spa. The surface can form a section of the skirt of the spa when attached to the spa. The skirt section can be attached to the spa by being raised under a lip of the spa and can be secured with battens and screws. The skirt section can form exterior steps providing access to the spa and can have a sinusoidal shape. The skirt section can include an integrated lifting mechanism that serves as a support when in a nested position.

Abstract: There is disclosed a fluidic spa tub nozzle having a fluidic oscillator with diverging sidewalls and a cooperating mode-change member for changing the mode from an oscillatory swept jet mode to a straight jet mode and positions thereinbetween. The fluidic oscillator has an inertance loop formed by groove plates secured to the top and bottom walls of the fluidic oscillator.

Abstract: A soap container with a lid that is designed to attached to a typical faucet that is opened and closed via a valve that is opened or closed by moving a handle a quarter of a turn. The soap container apparatus is preferably rectangular in shape having a plurality of holes at short axis end and an attachment mechanism at the other end short axis end. The plurality of holes is designed for draining the water left from the use of the soap. The attachment mechanism of the soap container is provided with a groove shaped and sized according to its insertion in the external upper section of the threaded shaft of the valve that permits said valve to opened or closed. The soap container with a lid is fixed to the faucet of the type mentioned above by a flat lid and female threaded ridge round shaped fixing element.

The mechanisms for the center legs and the end legs are configured to move the legs from a generally horizontal folded position between the seat and subseat when the sofa-bed is in the folded position to a generally upright position beneath, respectively, the subseat and seat when the bed is in the unfolded position.

A periphery of the through hole being enclosed by is a soft protrusion. A head portion of a bed is formed with an enclosing trench with a configuration with respect to the protrusion. A via hole is formed in the enclosing trench. A fan is installed within the hole. The enclosing trench is tightly engaged to the protrusion so that the wind out of the fan flows into the bed cushion from the through hole. Then the wind is vented out of the bed cushion surface from the vents.

A frame is fixedly attached to the central section and extends longitudinally outward from opposite sides thereof. The tabletop further includes a support system connected to the frame for supporting a patient thereon. At least a portion of the frame and support system is located within the beam projection area when the tabletop is mounted in the medical therapy or diagnostic system and the portion of the frame located within the beam projection area is formed from substantially non-metal components.

Abstract: A bariatric treatment system providing a comprehensive array of therapeutic services for the morbidly obese patient is disclosed. The treatment system generally comprises a stable bed frame upon which is mounted a low air loss therapeutic mattress system. Integrated hardware and software controls provide such therapies as pulsation, percussion, rotation, cardiac chair and Trendelenburg. Means are disclosed whereby the bariatric patient may safely and comfortably enter and exit the bed with relative ease. The bed is adaptable for transport within a hospital, including such features as a TRANSPORT MODE wherein the bed's lateral axis is minimized and battery backup to maintain necessary therapies during patient transport. A plurality of control means are disclosed for simplification of caregiver workload and ease of patient utilization.

Abstract: A technique and apparatus for integrally connecting a precast or prefabricated deck to a girder. A connection structure and method for connecting a precast or prefabricated deck to a girder, makes it unnecessary to form shear pockets in the deck and to remove existing shear connectors already installed to the girder, and makes it possible to easily adjust an elevation of the deck and to obtain excellent structural integration between the girder and the deck. The connection structure includes at least one rod shaped elevation adjustor inserted through the deck to support the deck spaced apart from an upper surface of the girder at a predetermined interval. A length of the rod shaped elevation adjustor projected toward an upper face of the girder can be changed to allow the deck to be supported. At least one shear connector is inserted through the deck.

Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning a substrate is provided. The apparatus comprises a plurality of rollers adapted to support a substrate in a vertical orientation, a scrubber brush adapted to contact a substrate supported by the plurality of rollers, and a sonic nozzle positioned at an elevation below the elevation of the scrubber brush and adapted so as to output a sonicated fluid spray that contacts a beveled edge or a major surface of the substrate such that fluid having sufficient sonic energy to harm the scrubber brush will not contact the scrubber brush.

Abstract: A drying apparatus has a support frame mounted on a handle. A drying spool is rotatably mounted on the support frame and has a web of liquid absorbent material which is incrementally scrolled from the drying spool onto a take-up roller during use of the apparatus. A user grips the handle on the support frame to move the apparatus back and forth over a wet floor surface with the web in contact with the floor surface to dry the floor surface. Indexing means is provided for incrementally advancing the drying web from the drying spool to the take-up roller to advance the wet web onto the take-up roller. On the forward stroke the web is held immobile to dry the wet floor surface as it is pushed over the wet floor surface. On the reverse stroke the indexing means releases the take-up roller to wind the wet web portion onto the take-up roller and pull a dry portion of web from the drying spool at the start of the next forward drying stroke.

Also included on the joint assembly is a supplemental handle protruding from an outer surface of the joint body. The joint assembly and supplemental handle allow the user to clean under a bed or a desk without having to bend his/her back too much. Therefore, the user is not easily fatigued even when he/she cleans under the desk or bed.

Abstract: An adjustable eccentric axle caster assembly for a pallet truck is provided. The adjustable caster assembly includes an eccentric axle, a caster wheel mounted on the eccentric axle, and a fastener for securing the eccentric axle to provide a desired caster wheel position. Additionally, a method of adjusting the eccentric axle caster assembly is provided.

Abstract: A closer device for a gate such as a swimming pool gate has relatively rotatable arms (for connection respectively to a gate and gate post), the arms being connected to a closer body having an axis parallel to the hinging axis of the gate on the gate post. The closer body has an elongate piston mounted within cylindrical gas chambers on respective sides of the piston and a relief profile on the exterior of the cylinder to engage with respective mounting elements for the arms whereby, upon relative rotation of the arms responding to gate movement, the piston moves axially within the gas chambers and a spring within the body urges the piston towards the position corresponding to a gate closed position. A gas controller permits unrestricted opening of the gate and control of closing speed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a hold-open apparatus for controlling the position of a door, preferably a screen door or storm door. The apparatus is used in conjunction with a piston assembly and can maintain a door in a predetermined open position, such as about 45° to about 100° in relation to a closed position. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus can automatically lock and/or unlock when the door reaches predetermined positions. The apparatus advantageously can be retrofitted to existing door assemblies.

The flexible neck hinges one clip body component with respect to the other clip body component while enabling the rigid connection to remain stationary with respect to both clip body components.

Abstract: A container for retaining articles includes a pliable sack and a closure attached to an opening of the sack. The closure includes a substantially flexible member having a pair of anchors and a substantially rigid member having a pair of pivotal seats. Each of the pivotal seats is adapted to receive a respective one of the anchors of the flexible member. The closure is positionable between a closed position in which the flexible member is substantially proximate to the rigid member and an opened position in which the flexible member is substantially separated from the rigid member. The closure may be configured to have a generally circular shape when in the opened position and a generally crescent shape when in the closed position. The seats may be configured to slidably receive the anchors to minimize complexity in the manufacturing process. Each of the rigid and flexible members preferably has a unitary construction to further reduce manufacturing costs.

Abstract: A burial casket with a through-fitting on a curved corner of the casket has a hole in the curved corner of the casket with a rim that has a convex outer surface and a concave inner surface. The through-fitting disposed within the hole has a body portion with a through hole along an axis and a concave, shape-conforming shoulder portion. The shoulder portion is in contact with and conforms to the convex outer surface of the rim of the hole. A neck portion of the through-fitting extends axially from the shoulder portion and through the hole. The neck portion has a radially-outwardly extending integral flange portion that conforms to and is in contact with the concave inner surface of said hole substantially around an entire periphery of the hole. The body portion is integral and in one piece or is an assembly of inner and outer tubes. The integral flange is formed by directing a shape-conforming crimping tool against a concave, shape-conforming end face of the neck portion of the through-fitting.
