  • Patent number: 6920665
Abstract: The invention is a floor care appliance such as vacuum cleaner having a pivoting valve arrangement for maintaining suction from the appliance housing to the suction nozzle. A valve is provided for sealing off suction to the suction nozzle when the housing is in the upright or off the floor mode position. When the housing is in the upright position maximum suction is directed to the accessory hose. When the housing is moved to the floor mode maximum the valve is moved to the open position and suction is directed to the suction nozzle for floor cleaning. The valve is located in a valve body assembly pivotally connected over the rear duct of the suction nozzle. The valve body is partially located in the housing and pivots with the housing. A roller and cam arrangement cause the valve located in the valve body to move back and forth between the open and closed positions.

Abstract: An offset tape measuring tool marked with standard English measurements includes integrated indicia for quick determination of distance between bends for a given offset depth and offset angle when installing conduit. Additional indicia may be included for the measurement of the shrinkage of the conduit with respect to the specified offset depths and angles. The integrated invention may be part of a standard tape measure strip to provide a convenient multi-purpose tool. Although the tool eliminates any external calculations or table reference typically necessary when bending conduit to clear an obstacle, it still provides an optional reference card for unique bends.

  • Patent number: 6920703
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide a microstructure drying treatment method by which a substrate having a microstructure has a fine pattern of less than 30 nm and a large-caliber substrate of 100 mm or more can be dried uniformly and in a short time without generating pattern collapse, and its apparatus and its high pressure vessel. The present invention is a microstructure drying treatment method of introducing a fluid that is gas at normal temperature and pressure and is liquid under high pressure inside a high pressure vessel in which a substrate having a microstructure in a state immersed in or wet with a rinsing liquid in a liquid or supercritical state. The method forms a specific gravity difference between the rinsing liquid and fluid inside the high pressure vessel and collects the rinsing liquid to the upper side or lower side of the high pressure vessel by changing at least one side of the temperature and pressure of the fluid and changing the specific gravity of the fluid.

  • Patent number: 6920714
Abstract: An automatic jigging device (10) that may be secured to a rod (16) of a fishing pole (12), thereby imparting action to a fishing lure, and broadly comprises an actuator (22) attached to the rod (16) and a controller (24) for controlling the actuator (22). The actuator (22) preferably includes a rotating assembly (28) for causing the vibration, a housing (32) for containing the assembly (28), and a rod mount (34) for securing the housing (32) to the rod (16). As a motor (30) rotates the assembly (28), the assembly's (28) offset center of gravity causes the actuator (22) to vibrate. The rod mount (34) preferably comprises one or more clips having an internal diameter approximating the rod's (16) external diameter. Thus, the actuator (22) may be firmly seated onto the rod (16), but not the handle (14), of the fishing pole (12), thereby leaving the handle (14) unobstructed.
