Abstract: A fluid flow nozzle is formed by a plurality of adjacent L-shaped channels forming successive channel pairs. Each channel has a linking member joined to a radial member. Each linking member is welded to an adjacent linking member forming a contiguous surface of linking members. Each radial member is oriented approximately perpendicular to a first side of the contiguous surface. A circumferentially enclosed chamber is formed on a second side of the contiguous surface. Each radial member is laser welded to a jacket at a distal end of each radial member. The jacket is oriented approximately parallel with the contiguous surface and separably spaced from the contiguous surface by the radial members. Each radial member forms one of a plurality of flow chambers between its adjacent radial member, the jacket and the contiguous surface. The flow chambers advantageously contain fluid in the event of a radial member rupture.

  • Publication number: 20050166400
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a forged article including a surface. The method includes defining a negative tooling pattern based on the surface and providing a tooling set having an anvil and a top and bottom die. An upper surface of the bottom die conforms to the negative tooling pattern. When the tooling is assembled the anvil extends through the bottom die and defines an axis. Additionally, the bottom and top dies cooperate to define a die cavity. A hollow blank is placed on an anvil and into the die. In a single stroke, the hollow blank is pressed between the top and bottom dies in a pressing direction that is parallel to the axis. During the pressing, the blank initially flows in the pressing direction to form the surface of the article. Thereafter, the blank flows in a direction perpendicular to the pressing direction to fill the die cavity.

Abstract: A door or other entryway component of synthetic resin composite construction and closely resembling the appearance of stained real wood. Skin portions of doors and other structures have a surface layer of clear gel coat resin molded to include the texture of a wood grain surface. A subsurface layer adjacent the clear gel coat layer is of pigmented gel coat resin. A structural support layer of the skin is of reinforced resin. Skins of a door or similar article are mounted on frames, and dense micro porous resin foam is provided between the skins to form a solid structure such as a door. Moldings retaining glass panels in openings defined in the door or similar structure are attached to the skins by adhesively fastening the moldings to the skins. Fasteners mounted in the moldings so that there are no plugged holes in the exterior surfaces of the moldings are used to locate the moldings properly with respect to the skins by inserting the fasteners into predrilled holes in the skins.

Abstract: An identification device has a band and a non-reusable tamper-resistant fastening arranged to join opposite end regions of the band to fasten it around a limb of a user. A transponder circuit and antenna are attached to the band, so that they are responsive to a received wireless signal. In response to the received wireless signal, the transponder emits a wireless signal representative of information pre-stored in the transponder. An electrically conductive continuous loop on the band couples to the transponder and forms an electrically continuous path along substantially the entire length of the band. The conductive loop also serves as an extension of antenna, so that the transponder is thus arranged to become inoperative and disable the transponder if the loop is broken.

Abstract: A label holder includes a front panel, a back panel connected to the front panel with a common bottom edge, said front panel and the back panel forming a cavity. The back panel is constructed to have a resilient rearward curvature that flexes to flatten against the shelf. The label holder further includes a retainer structure extending rearwardly from the back panel. The retainer structure includes a spring clip configured to resiliently clamp the label holder to the shelf. When mounted to the shelf, the shelf in combination with the retainer structure causes the flexure of said resilient rearward curvature to provide secure attachment of the label holder to the shelf.

Abstract: A holder for a label includes a cover panel having a front surface, a rear surface, an upper end, and a lower end. The holder further includes a body panel having a front surface, a rear surface, an upper end, and a lower end. A hinge connects the lower end of the cover panel with the lower end of the body panel wherein the cover panel includes an upper portion which is disposed at an acute angle in relation to a plane of a remainder of the cover panel. The rear surface of the cover panel and the front surface of the body panel define a pocket therebetween for selectively accommodating an associated label.

Abstract: Disclosed is a unitary sheet-like merchandise labeling article that has a labeling tag flatly conjoined along a unifying flat bond zone with a flexible elastic layer that extends away from the tag and includes an elastic fastening loop. The loop sides that define the loop are wider than the thickness of the elastic layer. Further, the flexible elastic layer that extends away from the tag has a thickness greater than the thickness of the tag and has a dispersion zone adjacent the unifying flat bond zone. The dispersion zone allows dissipation of elastic loop in-line stretching forces sufficiently to reduce transmission of such forces into the bond zone.

Abstract: A tip-up fishing device includes a cross frame having a horizontal section that spans a hole cut in the ice and a vertical section that supports a spool of fishing line down in the hole. A trip device operates to release a spring elastic flag pole when a fish strikes the line. The flag pole springs upright and is caused to depress a push-button transmitter switch mounted on the frame. The switch sends a signal to a remote receiver which generates an alarm signal to alert the fisherman.

Abstract: A fishing bait delivery system is disclosed. The system has a remotely controlled bait delivery vehicle, a fishing pole assembly, and a remote control for controlling bait delivery vehicle. The bait delivery vehicle has a fishing bait holder that holds a baited end of a fishing line until the baited end is released at a desired location. The fishing bait is secured to the fishing pole assembly via the fishing line. The fishing pole assembly is made up of a conventional fishing rod and reel. The fishing bait can be natural, living or deceased, or artificial. For live bait, the bait delivery vehicle can include a live bait well. In various embodiments the release of fishing bait may be automated. The system can use fish finding technology, wherein the bait delivery vehicle includes a fish finding sensor which transmits data to a fish finder viewer.

Abstract: The spinner bait blade is an elongated, flat strip having a twisted portion and a tail portion. The elongated twisted portion is twisted about its own longitudinal axis from a front to a back of the twisted portion. The tail comprises a continuation of the flat strip of material beyond the back of the twisted portion that extends at an angle away from the longitudinal axis. The spinner bait blade may be attached to a conventional spinner bait frame, or to an L-shaped frame. The speed of rotation when the blade is drawn through the water creates the illusion of solid, moving bait, and enables the lure to be used as a spinner bait, a buzz bait, or a surface popper.

A disposable cartridge has two sections which mate together to form a container for a roll of adhesive trapping medium. The cartridge sections are opened and spread apart to fit beneath the UV lamps. A motor indexes the adhesive medium so that some unused portion is always available for trapping insects until the roll is exhausted. The spent roll is then rolled into one cartridge section externally; and the two cartridge sections are coupled together to encase the spent roll for disposal.
