  • Publication number: 20050251933
Abstract: To permit below-dock level end-loading operations and to limit accidental freefalling of a dock leveler's deck, a dock leveler includes a unique support mechanism that employs one or more safety legs with an integral or operatively connected lip deflector. The support mechanism can be selectively moved to a deck-supporting position for freefall protection or moved to a lip-deflecting position for below dock level end-loading operations. In the deck-supporting position, the safety leg prevents the deck from falling an unsafe distance. In the lip-deflecting position, the lip deflector guides the descending motion of the dock leveler's lip extension plate so that the lip, while hanging pendant, can bypass and descend below a set of lip keepers.

Abstract: A pit dock leveler having a base frame secured to a loading dock pit and a dock platform pivotally connected at one end to the base frame and pivotally connected at its opposite end to a dock platform lip that pivots between a downward hanging position when the dock leveler is not in use and an extended position substantially co-planar with the dock platform when the dock leveler is in use, whereby the dock platform lip spans and compensates for the space and height differentials between the loading dock and a transport vehicle, wherein the improvement comprises, the dock platform having a plurality of independent segments arranged adjacent one another, each segment being formed from a single metallic sheet having two opposing ends and two opposing side edges, with the opposing side edges first bent downwardly at right angles and then bent inwardly in mirror image relationship, forming two opposing C-channels from the single metallic sheet, with each segment being separately and pivotally connected at one end

Abstract: This invention provides a guiding apparatus 10 for use in operating a pool cleaner. The apparatus 10 includes a housing configured for connection to a hose of the pool cleaner. The housing has front and rear parts 12, 14 configured to pivot in relation to each other about a zone of contact between the front and rear parts 12, 14. The apparatus 10 also includes a driven member having a ratchet 20 and an arm 22 housed within the housing and arranged to be driven by the to and fro motion of the hose. The apparatus 10 further includes a transducer housed within the housing, connected to the driven member, and adapted to transduce motion of the driven member to motion to be imparted to pivot the front and rear parts 12, 14 in relation to each other in order to influence movement of the body of the pool cleaner.

Abstract: A cleaning apparatus (20, 200) that includes a conductive path (84, 208, 212) from an article (24, 216) being cleaned to a ground (88, 220). The conductive path allows a static electrical charge present on the article to be drawn off the article so as to reduce the likelihood the article will be damaged by the static electrical charge. In one embodiment, the electrical path includes an electrically conductive brush (36). In another embodiment, the electrical path includes at least one contact (224, 228) spaced from a cleaning member.

Abstract: An apparatus for unclogging a toilet with the sliding mechanism allowing for easier operation. The sliding mechanism easily allows movement of the snake within the handle. The sliding handle is in a locked position when the snake is not in use. The rubber air tube, when plunging, does not allow water to enter. There is a reducer connecting the plunger to the stationary handle. There is a hollow nipple inside the reducer which connects to the lower end of the rubber tube. The snake goes through the nipple and up the hollow tube to the sliding mechanism. The top end of the rubber tube is connected to the sliding mechanism. The top end of the snake is threaded through the sliding mechanism, and there is a locking device on the top of the sliding mechanism connected to the snake. This is helpful for new “low flow” toilets.
