Abstract: Two rotating parts (11, 15) rotatably fitting on an axle (10) which passes through the opening (9) surrounded by the frame (4) are provided in a rectangular frame (4), the first rotating part (11) surrounding the elongated second rotating part (15) in a fork-like manner. The first rotating part (11) and the second rotating part (15) may each assume two fixed positions 180° apart, in which they are locked to the frame or to the first rotating part (11). By turning the rotating parts (11, 15), the outside of the jewellery element (2) can be changed. Jewellery elements can also be combined to form chains, which can be used, for example, as watch straps.

Abstract: The invention includes a method and an arrangement for influencing the flow of glass melts in a controlled way during the transfer from the melting furnace to a processing process. The simultaneous generation of electric and magnetic fields generates a force in the glass melt which boosts or inhibits the melt flow and acts substantially in the same direction as or in the opposite direction to the main direction of flow. It is in this way possible to control the melt flow without affecting the temperature of the melt. Consequently, the invention is suitable in particular for the accurately controllable feeding of a homogeneous glass melt to a glass production process.

One preferred embodiment, of several, has an outside diameter in close tolerance to the inside diameter of a kingpin lock device. In addition, the holder is easily insertable into the kingpin lock device. The diameter of the hole in the holder is sufficient to allow a metal tongue to be inserted from the kingpin lock device through the hole in the holder. Then a key in the lockpin device is removed leaving the lock device secured to the holder. In addition, the holder has a metal plate perpendicularly welded to the cylinder part. Then bolts are used to secure the holder to another metal surface. The surface could be the underside of a trailer or box or in a storage compartment behind the cab of a tractor.

Abstract: This invention discloses a process which when properly used, automates the hydrostatic testing of casing and/or tubing in a will. An electronic processor with programmable logic provides diagnostics, alarming, and process automation functionality to the process. Current downhole tools and pumps can be used to insure conformance to API specifications, however the processor would sense that a specified target pressure has been reached and start an internal clock. After a specified period of time, the pressure would again be analyzed and compared to the original start pressure. If the decline is within specified limits, one alarm is given and recorded. If the decline in pressure is above the limits, another type alarm could he displayed, heard, and recorded. A PLC can also be incorporated to perform such tasks as starting the pump, closing and opening surface valves, and stopping the pump.

Abstract: A system for making extensional measurements on a sample includes an armature, a motor drive shaft, a moveable cylinder, and a fixed cylinder. The motor drive shaft is attached to the armature. The moveable cylinder is mounted on the armature. The sample is stretched between the moveable cylinder and fixed cylinder by the rotation of the moveable cylinder around the axis of the fixed cylinder and rotation of the moveable cylinder about its own axis. The resistance of the sample produces a torque on the moveable cylinder and the fixed cylinder. The torque is measured on the moveable cylinder or on a transducer shaft attached to the fixed cylinder. The system is adaptable to a commercial rotational rheometer.

Abstract: A system for treating process fluids delivered to an electrochemical cell stack is described. The system includes a treatment unit capable of treating and imparting a first range of temperatures to a process fluid that includes the freezing point of water. A filter removes ice particles larger than a particular size formed when the first temperature unit imparts a temperature to the process fluid low enough to cause ice particles to form.

Abstract: A characterizer for determining the shape of a probe tip for an atomic force microscope and methods of fabricating and using the characterizer. The characterizer includes a micromachined crystalline structure with opposed edges separated by a width suitable for characterizing a dimension of the probe tip. At least one of the opposed edges overhangs an undercut region of the micromachined crystalline structure by an overhang distance that is greater than one third of the width. The probe tip is scanned across the edges of the characterizer for shape determination. The characterizer is formed by serially deep reactive ion etching and anisotropic etching (100) single crystal silicon. The opposed edges may be oxidation sharpened for use in profiling a bottom surface of the probe tip.

Abstract: A condition of impaired speed and torque control of a parallel electrically variable transmission due to factors beyond nominal modeling and estimation errors is diagnosed under low speed operation. The transmission includes at least one electric machine and a motor torque controller for regulating the transmission input speed and output torque. The motor torque controller includes an open-loop control path based on predetermined torques and accelerations and a closed loop control path based on input speed error. The presence of a larger than expected closed-loop correction magnitude, combined with low output speed and one or more other conditions is used to diagnose a condition of potential torque error, in which case the transmission control is altered to prevent unwanted operation.

Abstract: The pressure gauge is designed for operative engagement with a gas pressurized system such as a pneumatic tire. It includes a housing having a pressurized gas inlet orifice and a cylindrical bore formed within the housing. A pressure reactive piston is slidably engaged within the cylindrical bore, and a resistance means is disposed within the cylinder to provide a resistive force to the movement of the piston. A calibration rod is disposed proximate the piston, whereby movement of the piston will cause movement of the rod. A pressure indicator bar, which is threadably engaged to the rod, provides an indication of the pressure level of the gas. The calibration rod has a user accessible end, and rotation of the rod causes a calibration adjustment of the pressure indicator bar due to the threaded engagement of the rod with the pressure indicator bar.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus for testing a plurality of on/off solenoid valves and a plurality of proportional solenoid valves of an automotive transmission. The apparatus includes an on/off valve switch for each of the on/off solenoid valves and a series of preset current switches for each of the proportional solenoid valves. An on/off solenoid circuit is electrically connected to the on/off valve switches and includes a plurality of outputs for connection to the on/off solenoid valves. In response to actuation of the on/off valve switches, the on/off solenoid circuit is operable to generate electrical actuation signals for transmission through the outputs to the on/off solenoid valves, respectively. Proportional solenoid circuits are electrically connected to the series of the preset current switches, respectively. Each proportional solenoid circuit has an output for connection to one of the proportional solenoid valves.

Abstract: A measurement body is provided with a sub-outlet arranged between a U-turn portion of a bypass passage and a main outlet. The sub-outlet includes a first sub-outlet positioned on a path of air, which flows on the inside of the bypass passage, and a second sub-outlet positioned on a path of air, which flows on the outside of the bypass passage. The respective sub-outlets open in a sidewall surface of the measurement body along the thickness-wise direction. However, the first sub-outlet and the second sub-outlet are arranged in different positions with respect to the flow direction of measurement air. With this structure, a substantial length of the bypass passage can be adjusted in accordance with positions of the first sub-outlet and the second sub-outlet, so that compensation of intake pulsation is enhanced in accuracy. Thereby, measurement error caused by influences of intake pulsation can be reduced.
