Abstract: In an exhaust gas purifying apparatus for a diesel engine having a diesel particulate filter (DPF) provided in an exhaust pipe, a temperature of the DPF is indirectly detected (presumed) to prevent an over-heat of the DPF during a re-generation operation thereof. For that purpose, the DPF is hypothetically divided into multiple cells, the temperature at the respective cells is presumed based on a heat budget of the cell, and the maximum temperature among those multiple presumed temperatures is controlled to be lower than a predetermined value.

Abstract: An apparatus for preventing a filter for purifying exhaust gas emitted by a vehicle diesel engine from overheating is provided. The filter filters particulate matter in exhaust gas. Particulate matter that is accumulated in the filter through filtering is burned and purified by executing a temperature increase process in which the filter is heated. The apparatus includes an electronic control unit as overheat prevention means. During the temperature increase process, the overheat prevention means executes an increase process for increasing the flow rate of exhaust gas when the filter is likely to overheat. As a result, the filter is effectively prevented from overheating.

Abstract: In an assembly including a diesel engine, a fluid coupling connected to the flywheel of the diesel engine, a comminuting machine and a conveyor for feeding the comminuting machine, a fluid coupling module is common to various output power train assemblies. Slip speed of the fluid coupling between impeller input and runner output shafts is measured, and modulates or regulates the process feed rate of the conveyer. An electrically actuated control valve acts as an oil flow diverter valve directing oil into the fluid coupling impeller when a signal to engage the coupling is given, and in response to a signal from an over-temperature sensor when the temperature of circuit oil leaving the element exceeds a preset set point value, diverts the oil to a reservoir, thereby permitting the impeller and runner cavity to evacuate, which separates the engine from the load.

Abstract: Power plant and process for the generation of electric energy through forced wind power. The plant includes a self-standing vertical structure, anchored to the ground, featuring a suitable diameter and height. Through this structure a powerful airflow operates one or more wind generators which is/are located inside. The plant is provided with several air inlets at the bottom, and an outlet at the top for discharging the air and at least one wind generator interposed between the afore-mentioned inlet-outlet. The tangible difference in the air density and temperature between high and low altitude generates a positive air flow moving from the bottom to the top and operates the internal generators regardless from the presence of winds or air flows. Suitable heating devices are located at the chimney bottom and boost the natural draught effect. A microprocessor controls the heating means in order to achieve a constant temperature at the air inlet and consequently a constant speed and a constant electric output.

One embodiment of the insulating assembly provides a wicking material layer adjacent the cooled surface that, in combination with transporting and evaporating structures, removes the condensate from the vicinity of the cooled surface and allows for its evaporation into the ambient gas surrounding the exterior surface of the insulating assembly. Another embodiment provides for exposing the condensate to an internal conditioned gas stream to provide for evaporation that does not necessarily utilize an exterior surface. Abstract: The disclosed invention relates to a distillation process for separating two or more components having different volatilities from a liquid mixture containing the components. The process employs microchannel technology for effecting the distillation and is particularly suitable for conducting difficult separations, such as the separation of ethane from ethylene, wherein the individual components are characterized by having volatilities that are very close to one another.

Abstract: A pendant comprises a pedestal, an ornamental-piece hanging portion from which an ornamental piece is hung, and a chain-threading hole through which a chain is threaded. The pedestal includes a rolling member which rolls in vertical direction smoothly. The wheel can be positioned within the pedestal, or adjacent an outer surface of the pedestal. The wheel rotates vertically (i.e., about an axis which is generally perpendicular to a plane of the pendant, and which is generally horizontal when the pendant is worn), thereby decreasing coefficient of friction between the connecting surface and the skin or the closing of the wearer. That is, when the pendant is worn, the wheel touches the skin and rotates in order to prevent the ornamental piece from turning up or down.

Abstract: The present invention significantly modifies “The Overflow Process”. It includes a method and apparatus for measuring glass flow rate and maintaining a constant glass flow rate. It also embodies design features and methods that support and stress the forming apparatus in a manner such that the deformation that results from thermal creep is corrected, thus minimizing the effect of the thermal creep on the thickness variation of the glass sheet. The present invention also embodies design features that change the process from a single step (combined flow distribution and cooling) to a two step process; step one being flow distribution and step two being cooling.

Abstract: The invention concerns a reaction chamber comprising a first container (1), a second container (4) connected to a conduit (6), an outer tube (3) emerging into the container (1), an outer tube (8) emerging into the conduit. The container (1) is designed to receive a sleeve glass, and the container (4) a core glass for optical fiber. The method for using said chamber, after vacuum sealing in (3a) and (8a), and heating the chamber at a sufficient temperature for melting the glasses, the chamber being in the position represented with the tube (3) in vertical position, consists: in a 180° anti-clockwise rotation about an axis perpendicular to the figure. The sleeve glass flows into the tube (3) while the core glass remains confined in the container (4); cooling the tube (3), then returning to the original position; part of the sleeve glass, maintained in liquid form in the center of the tube (3), drops into the container (1); carrying out another 180°, rotation, but clockwise.

Abstract: A drum type washing machine including a tub installed in a cabinet is disclosed. The drum type washing machine includes a drum performing washing, a motor rotating the drum, bearing housings having bearings to support a rotation shaft, a suspension connected to the bearing housings and the cabinet to mitigate vibration generated during rotation of the drum, a bracket installed to the bearing housings to form the rear side of the tub, and a gasket installed between the bracket and the tub to seal the tub and to prevent vibration from being transmitted from the bracket to the tub. Volumes of the tub and the drum can be easily increased without increasing the volume of the cabinet. Even when the volume of the washing machine is changed, only one of the tub and the bearing housings, which is not applicable to the drum type washing machine having the changed washing capacity, is selectively replaced. Thus parts can commonly used in various drum type washing machine having different volume.
