Abstract: A gas turbine engine. The engine is based on the use of a gas turbine driven rotor having a compression ramp traveling at a local supersonic inlet velocity (based on the combination of inlet gas velocity and tangential speed of the ramp) which compresses inlet gas against a stationary sidewall. The supersonic compressor efficiently achieves high compression ratios while utilizing a compact, stabilized gasdynamic flow path. Operated at supersonic speeds, the inlet stabilizes an oblique/normal shock system in the gasdynamic flow path formed between the rim of the rotor, the strakes, and a stationary external housing. Part load efficiency is enhanced by use of a lean pre-mix system, a pre-swirl compressor, and a bypass stream to bleed a portion of the gas after passing through the pre-swirl compressor to the combustion gas outlet. Use of a stationary low NOx combustor provides excellent emissions results.

Abstract: A gas turbine engine with a single stage combustor includes an external premixer to provide premixed fuel/compressed air to the combustor as well as compressed air for dilution; and an automatic controller to provide feedback control of the compressed air flow and fuel flow to the premixer in accordance with actual power versus power demand. The fuel/compressed air mixture is combusted in a combustor and the combustion gases and dilution air are expanded in a turbine. The engine further includes a bleed valve under control of the controller for diverting sufficient compressed dilution air past the turbine to induce increased fuel flow and compressed air flow to the premixer for delivery to, and combustion of, the combustor to compensate for the power deficit due to the bled air, to provide selected minimum premixer exit velocities during engine operation.

The garment has a cylindrical layer of fabric having an inner layer having a first free-end and a first edge, an outer layer having a second free-end and a second edge and a junction to join the first edge to the second edge. The second free-end is connected to the first free-end and the second edge is connected to the first edge during the knitting process to form a completed two-ply garment. The method provides turning the second series of courses outside of the first series of courses while the second series of courses is joined by held loops to the first series of courses at a junction. The method further includes knitting a second free-end to a first-free end using held loops from the second series of courses to form a completed two-ply garment.

Abstract: The present invention is a laundry machine for reusing detergent components contained in waste wash water. Water stored in an outer tub 5 during washing process and rinsing process is discharged from the outer tub 5 and introduced into a water storage tank 17. By energizing an anode 19 and a cathode 20 to electrolyze the water stored in the water storage tank 17, organic materials are deposited and separated and at the same time detergent components are separated and floated up. The separated detergent components are stored in a detergent container 30, which are supplied into the outer tub 5 and reused during the washing process of the next washing.

Abstract: A theft deterrent device includes first and second jaws pivotally connected to one another and pivotally movable between open and closed positions. The jaws form in the closed position an interior chamber and a through passage for receiving therethrough a portion of an article of merchandise. A lock slide is slidable within the interior chamber between locked and unlocked positions and lockable by a lock in the locked position to secure the first and second jaws together in the closed position. The lock slide includes lock hooks which lockably engage lock hooks of the second jaw. The lock slide includes locking and unlocking ledges which a resilient, magnetically attractable lock finger of the lock respectively engages in the locked and unlocked positions. An externally accessible thumb grip operatively engages the lock slide to move it between the locked and unlocked positions. An EAS tag is disposed within the device.

Abstract: Disclosed is a tubular lock. The lock comprises an inside knob, an outside knob, and a two-stage latch bolt mechanism interconnecting the inside and outside knobs. Using a key to insert a spindle into a cam, and turning the spindle to dispose vertically with left and right clamping members fitted in a recessed portion of a fastening sleeve from both sides will align indentations of the left and right clamping members, thereby opening the lock. In the locked stated, a turning of the key causes the latch bolt mechanism to enter into one of two positions. In one position the spindle is disposed horizontally, the left and right clamping members are spaced in the recessed portion of the fastening sleeve, and the indentations of the left and right clamping members are not aligned, thereby deactivating a handle for preventing an unauthorized opening of the lock from occurring.
