Publication number: 20060032667Abstract: The present invention is directed to a power supply apparatus in which a battery and a circuit wiring board or boards are electrically connected by using lead terminals. The lead terminal (3) is adapted so that thickness of a welding portion (3a) is caused to be thinner than the thickness of a conductive portion (3b). Thus, current for welding flows to much degree in a thickness direction so that electric resistance of the welding portion becomes large, and heat based on the electric resistance also becomes large. From this fact, welding nugget (63) can be enlarged. As the result of the fact that large welding nugget is formed, the lead terminals are welded to terminal portions (37a) of the battery (2) with high reliability.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2004Publication date: February 16, 2006Applicant: SONY CORPORATIONInventor: Bunya Sato

Publication number: 20060032670Abstract: Provided are connection structures for a microelectronic device and methods for forming the structure. A substrate is included having opposing surfaces and a plurality of holes extending through the surfaces. Also included is a plurality of electrically conductive posts. Each post extends from a base to a tip located within a corresponding hole of the substrate. An additional substrate may be provided such that the base of each post is located on a surface thereof. Additional electrically conductive posts may be provided having tips in corresponding holes of the additional substrate. Optionally, a dielectric material may be placed between the substrate and the posts.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2004Publication date: February 16, 2006Applicant: Tessera, Inc.Inventors: Belgacem Haba, Masud Beroz, David Tuckerman, Giles Humpston, Richard Crisp

Publication number: 20060032671Abstract: The invention relates to a cutting device for sinking a cut hole in the ground, having a support on which are mounted in rotary manner about in each case one cutting wheel rotation axis at least two cutting wheels, at least one cutting wheel drive mechanism for the rotary driving of the cutting wheels on the support and a drive mechanism for the rotary driving of the support together with the cutting wheels about a support rotation axis directed roughly parallel to the sinking direction. The invention also relates to a method for producing a cut hole in the ground.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2005Publication date: February 16, 2006Inventor: Maximilian Arzberger

Publication number: 20060032672Abstract: A flexible lateral drilling shaft is disclosed, having a concentrically nested arrangement of two or more coil springs of which the winding direction of at least one of the springs is opposite to another of the springs. The shaft is included within a lateral drilling tool which includes a deflection assembly having roller bearings to assist the deflection of the flexible shaft. Once inserted into a wellbore, increasing pressure applied to the shaft will cause the opposing springs to stiffen against each other, providing sufficient strength to support the drilling of a lateral drainhole within the wellbore. Further, the spring is wound from a steel wire having a specific noncircular profile to improve the strength characteristics of the shaft without increasing the bending stress during deflection.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2005Publication date: February 16, 2006Inventors: Gordon Latos, John Person

Publication number: 20060032673Abstract: A drill bit and seal assembly therefor include a seal gland, an elastomeric sealing seal disposed in the seal gland and having a dynamic sealing surface and a static sealing surface, and at least one auxiliary elastomeric annular seal member disposed between the static sealing surface of the sealing seal and the seal gland. The auxiliary annular seal member serves to prevent relative movement of the sealing seal relative to the surfaces of the seal gland and to permit sealing seals of various cross-sections and shapes to adapt to and function with a conventionally sized and shaped gland. The auxiliary annular seal member is sized and configured and its material properties selected so as to impart the appropriate squeeze to the sealing seal to provide the desired contact pressure and footprint. Choice of the appropriate auxiliary seal member may permit the same sized seal to be employed in seal glands of differing sizes.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 16, 2004Publication date: February 16, 2006Applicant: Smith International, Inc.Inventors: Zhou Yong, Sudarsanam Chellappa

Publication number: 20060032674Abstract: A roller cone drill bit may include optimally designed bearing structures and cutting structures. The roller cone drill bit may include three cone assemblies rotatably mounted on respective spindles via respective bearing structures. Each cone assembly may have a respective cutting structure with a minimal moment center located along each respective axis of rotation. Each respective bearing structure has a center point located proximate each respective minimal moment center.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2005Publication date: February 16, 2006Inventors: Shilin Chen, Ping Sui
