Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus mounted to a mold for injecting air into a mold cavity and removing exhaust from the mold cavity. The apparatus includes a needle rotation restrictor adapted to fit into a counter bore of a blow cylinder body, where the needle rotation restrictor has a hole through which a needle can pass. The blow cylinder body is mountable to the mold and has a conduit to the mold cavity and an interface for interfacing with the mold. The interface of the blow cylinder body has a counter-bore for containing the needle rotation restrictor. The apparatus further includes a needle having a cross-sectional shape adapted to restrict rotation within the hole of the needle rotation restrictor and passing through the conduit of the blow cylinder body. The needle rotation restrictor is rotatably positioned within the counter bore prior to engagement of the blow cylinder body with the mold.

Abstract: A stator core extends along a longitudinal axis and includes a yoke, and a plurality of radially-inwardly projecting teeth separated by intervening slots. A radially innermost portion of each tooth initially includes a pair of legs separated by a recess disposed therebetween. The conventional tooth tips are unformed in the first stage, thereby defining an increased-size slot opening for allowing the insertion of an enlarged stator winding, which has a width (e.g., diameter for a round conductor) substantially equal to the width of the slot itself. In a second processing stage, after the core itself has been manufactured and wound with stator windings, the legs are cold-formed in order to form tooth tips, which define a reduced-size slot opening to provide an improved magnetic flux path and provide a wire retention function. A high slot fill stator design is provided, which allows and enables higher generator efficiencies and output for a given package size.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for fabricating compliant spring contacts for use in, for example, IC packaging and interconnection between multi-layers in stacked IC packages and electronic components. Internal stresses generated within an formed film are released to cause the film to buckle and/or bow away from a supporting terminal. A thin stressed metal film layer is selectively broken away from the substrate of the supporting terminal allowing the stressed metal film to take on a bowed and/or spring-like shaped through minute deformation based on a release of the internal stresses. The resultant thin compliant spring contact can deform a small amount as the spring contact is then pressed against a compatible mating contact surface in an overlying layer.

Abstract: A device (1) for measuring the relative orientation according to at least one degree of freedom for two objects, including a constraint generator (10) suitable for causing a goniometric sensor (40) to move in a plane, having the function of measuring the variation of relative orientation of the two objects in this plane. The goniometric sensor (40) is arranged in a housing (41) that crosses longitudinally the constraint generator (10), which has high flexional stiffness in a first longitudinal plane (?) and a low flexional stiffness in a second longitudinal plane (?) orthogonal to the first (?) . The sensor measures rotations in a plane and the constraint generator induces a rotation in that plane. With the device (1) a data suit (50) can be made for measuring the movement of limbs of an individual. For example, arranging three devices (10a, 10b, 10c) in series, but capable of measuring angles in orthogonal planes, the rotation can be measured of the arm (76) with respect to a shoulder (75) of an individual.

Abstract: Motorized indexed measuring head for a machine for measuring three-dimensional coordinates. Comprises one, two or more re-orientable elements to orient a probe feeler according to a plurality of indexed orientations. The orientable elements are guided in their rotation and sliding movements by undercut bushings and undercut shafts. The arrangement of the undercuts allows an accurate guiding in the rotation movement without impairing the indexing accuracy.

Abstract: A gauge (100) for measuring wear of a trailer kingpin (10) provides, for each of the base (20) and shank (30) parts of a kingpin, two contiguous slots (118 and 120, and 114 and 116, respectively), one slot (118, 114) sized to indicate sufficient wear to warrant scheduling replacement or rebuilding, and the other, more lateral slot (120, 116), sized to indicate failure due to excessive wear. In described embodiments, the two pairs of contiguous slots (118 and 120, 114 and 116) are joined in the middle of the gauge (100) by an entrance area (112). A respective kingpin base (20) or shank (30) that does not pass, at its widest point, from the entrance area (112) into the respective slot (118, 114) has not worn to the point of warranting replacement or rebuilding. Embodiments of the kingpin gauge (100) may also have spaced apart open slots (141, 142) for measuring the length and trueness of a kingpin along its vertical axis (50).

Abstract: The device 1 for positioning the measuring element of a measuring apparatus comprises a traverse 14 on which the measuring element is arranged. The device further comprises a track 11 on which bearings 12, 13 run, and on which the traverse 14 is held by means of bearings 124, 125. The measuring element of the measuring apparatus can be positioned radially in relation to the track 11 and along the track 11. The traverse 14 comprises multiple components, wherein the components 141, 142 of the traverse 14 are interconnected with one or several bearings 143, or the components 141, 142 of the traverse 14 are held inside each other so as to be telescopically slidable. Radial positioning takes place in that the angle ?14 between the components 141, 142 of the traverse 14 is changed or in that in the case of a telescopic traverse 14, which constitutes a chord in the track 11, the length is altered.

The screen layers are preferably diffusion bonded to each other. These multi-layer screens produce drier micropellets exiting the dryer and reduce banding of the micropellets and plugging of the dryer screen outlet holes.

The original pharmaceutical substances are dissolved in a solution or suspended in a suspension, which is sprayed through an atomizing nozzle and frozen in a cold gas phase or liquid nitrogen atomized directly in the spray-freeze chamber or gas jacket at the same time (for cooling purposes). The particles are freeze-dried at roughly atmospheric pressure in a down-stream fluid flow with exit filter thereby to remove moisture entrapped on or inside the frozen particles. The system has applicability for forming other powders.
