Abstract: A method of forming a matrix assembly for use in forming creases or score lines in card-like material. The method comprises providing a steel strip, treating an upper surface of the steel strip with a resin adhesive, extruding one or more plastic material strips onto the metal strip to define a longitudinal channel and heating the assembly so formed to cure the resin adhesive and adhere the plastic material to the metal strip. The present method obviates the need to perforate the metal strip and therefore a thinner steel strip is obtained.

Abstract: A thread cutting milling tool comprises a shank with a working portion formed with a recess for receiving a thread cutting insert. The thread cutting insert has one edge formed with a line of thread-form teeth of identical profile. The thread cutting teeth project laterally for cutting engagement with a work-piece while the tool spins about its axis. The tool also orbits within or about a work piece, and in one orbit of the tool in a helical cutting path relative to the work piece a number of complete turns of the screw-thread are formed which is equal to the number of teeth of the insert in engagement with the work-piece. A secondary cutter carried on the thread cutting milling tool provides for formation of a pilot portion or counter bore on the work piece at an end of the screw thread. The pilot portion or counter bore provides for alignment of a threaded member which is to engage the screw thread.

  • Publication number: 20060150394
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for assembling, tuning and testing motor vehicles. Automobile factories are provided with assembly lines, along which components are delivered to an automobile that is to be produced, are assembled and, if necessary, further processed by humans or robots. At the end of the assembly lines, the automobiles under production are continuously advanced on wheels by means of apron conveyors with chain, rope or belt drives. These apron conveyors may be embedded in the floor and may engage either the left, the right or all the wheels of the automobile. If only one apron conveyor is used, the automobile rolls on the other two wheels. The aim of the invention is to create a device for assembling motor vehicles, which may be installed anywhere in a flat hall without modifying the ceiling or floor and is transportable.

Abstract: Ceramic adhesive is applied inside the slots of an electric machine squirrel cage rotor prior to casting or insertion of rotor conductors. This heat-resistant insulation provides superior electrical insulation that is also mechanically rugged, thus enabling casting of squirrel cage rotors by die or cost-effective consumable pattern casting. The consumable pattern cast copper rotors are electrically well insulated, thus minimizing rotor losses. The ceramic insulation in cast rotors enables longer conductors to be cast by thermally insulating the molten metal from the cooler laminations. The ceramic insulation in fabricated rotors withstands the high temperatures of end ring attachment.

The drive gear is enmeshed to a second gear which, in turn, is coaxially connected to an encoder disk. The encoder disk has spaced-apart fins around its outer periphery. As the wheels turn and the encoder disk rotates, the fins and openings between the fins pass between an emitter and a receiver. The emitter and receiver are linked to a controller which calculates the distance traversed by the wheels based upon the number of fins that pass between the emitter and receiver, or with an active counting system (ACS). The controller also includes functions to establish start and stop points for a measurement and an easy means for dividing a measured distance into equal parts or segments and a means for marking the boundary points that define the segments when the measuring device is rolled back across the measured distance. The device can be used on both planar and non-planar surfaces.

Abstract: When drying a web-formed material, the web-formed material is passed, in contact with a gas-permeable dryer screen, through a drying plant. One or more fans blow hot process air against, and through, the web-formed material in order to dry it. A chamber, surrounding the fan or the fans, has a limiting surface that is essentially parallel to the surface of the web-formed material. This limiting surface has an opening that extends essentially across the whole width of the web-formed material. A distributing member, in the form of an arcuate perforated, sheet-formed element, placed outside the chamber, covers the opening completely. With the distributing member a first flow of process air is divided into a large number of jets, distributed over essentially the whole of the angular area that faces the web-formed material.

Abstract: A method for detecting the presence of a synthetic fabric load during an automatic drying cycle in an automatic dryer avoids premature termination of the automatic drying cycle and ensures that the synthetic fabric items are dried according to a user's desired dryness level. The presence of the synthetic fabric load is detected by determining a duration of a first heating cycle, determining a duration of a second heating cycle, and determining the presence of the synthetic fabric load based on the durations of the first and the second heating cycles.
