Abstract: A folding knife includes a handle and a blade attached thereto and configured to rotate between an open position and a closed position. A locking element is coupled to the handle, while a pawl is coupled to the blade and configured to engage the locking element as the blade rotates to the closed position, such that the blade is locked in the closed position thereby. Opening pressure on the pawl causes it to release the locking element and also causes the blade to rotate from the closed position toward the open position. The knife blade may include a flicker positioned to extend from a back portion of the handle when the blade is in the closed position. The pawl is coupled to the flicker such that pressure on the flicker causes the pawl to release the locking moves the blade toward the open position. The folding knife may also include an opening assist mechanism.

Abstract: Reciprocating blade system for knives, employed in order to achieve a highly effective cutting action without dragging upon the object to be cut. The invention concerns a reciprocating blade system for knives characterized by a blade with curved or arc-shaped cutting edge capable of oscillating or swinging relative to the support whereto it is fixed by any means enabling said movement such that the cutting edge can operate a reciprocating rolling movement on the object to be cut when the handle is pushed backwards and forwards in the manner of a standard knife. In the embodiment represented in FIG. 1, the blade (1) has an arc-shaped cutting edge (5) and is fixed to a support rod (3) extended by a handle (4), through a pin (2) which enables its oscillation along the arrows (7) and (7bis).

Abstract: Several different types of spring-loaded holders. The first type is a cam-based holder which can activate a cam action for holding a stack of art sheets. The second type is a toggle holder which can be toggled between a closed position for holding a stack of art sheets and an open position for loading and unloading said art sheets. Such holders can be installed in a picture frame for holding a stack of art sheets of varied thicknesses. These holders can be further modified and used in a variety of holding boards including fun boards, bulletin boards and poster boards. A one-piece injection molded stretcher with grid will increase the strength of the stretcher and allow thinner stretcher to be used. It is proposed that a framed art ensemble be sold in a retail store. Each ensemble comprises a frame with the present holders and a plurality of matching art sheets of standard sizes.

Abstract: An indicia for marking on an object, such as a cartridge case, for representing selected information, such as identification indicia identifying the firearm that discharged the cartridge, and methods and apparatus for generating, imprinting and reading the identification indicia. An indicia includes a multi-dimensional array of encoded marks, including encoded marks determined by spectral encoding variables representing the selected information wherein each spectral variable is spectrally distinguishable from others of the spectral variables representing variables, and an encoded pattern of the encoded marks is determined by algorithmic transformation of the selected information. An indicia may also include hologram related artwork. An indicia may be an encoded hologram multi-dimensional barcode, an encoded hologram or an encoded concentric circular barcode and may be formed of a single indicia or as an array of indicia.

Abstract: The invention concerns an adjustable recoil pad for a small arm, in particular, a rifle, with a base plate that can be adjustably affixed to a stock part of the small arm, a bottom plate which is adjustably mounted on the base plate, and at least one end part that can be affixed to the bottom plate. A simplified adjustment with a large number of adjustment possibilities is made possible in that the bottom plate is arranged so it can swivel about a transverse axis on a connecting piece, which is displaceably guided via guide elements on the base plate, and can be affixed in a desired position by at least one retaining screw.

Abstract: An animal repellant system which includes triggering means for detecting the presence of animals within a particular area and generating signals indicative thereof. The animal repellant system includes a controller operable to receive the signals generated by the triggering means and to issue command signals responsive thereto, and deterrent means for effectuating a repellant component of the animal repellant system in response to the command signals issued by the controller, thereby dissuading the animals from entering the particular area.

Abstract: A fish chum and/or fish scent dispenser device is described which provides a means to distribute scent into the water so as to attract fish to the proximity of the fisherman and to specifically attract fish to baited hooks or to the lure being used by the fisherman. A typical implementation is that of a dispenser 20 attached to fishing lines 19A and 19B, using swivel-type mechanisms 18A and 18B to prevent fishing line twist, which dispenser includes front and rear finned units 11A and 11B, a main fish scent or chum holding cavity 1, and an access door 8. Fish scent or chum material, located in main cavity 1, may be rapidly or slowly dissolved in the water, depending on the speed of rotation, the size of holes 6, and the type of scent material used, as dispenser 20 is pulled through the water or as the force of the water, for example, without limitation, currents or waves, react against fin units 11A and 11B, causing dispenser 20 to spin or rotate.

Abstract: A fishing tackle component has a portion useable to receive a noise making mechanism, which can be a depression. The noise making mechanism is a rattle mechanism, including a capsule containing at least two rattle elements. The rattle elements may have a minimum curvature that is greater than a maximum curvature of the capsule, allowing the rattle elements to move freely inside the capsule. Consequently, the capsule does not have acute angles or areas of extreme curvature in which the rattle elements can lodge disabling the noise. The rattle mechanism is mounted to the receiving portion, such as in the depression. As the lure is moved through the water, the rattle mechanism at least sporadically produces a noise regardless of the speed or trajectory of the tackle component in the water.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a method of manufacturing autohesion thread such that a smooth surface is offered, the cutting thereof is easy, filaments composing thread are not frayed in cutting, and additionally drainability are superior, and then plural kinds of filaments can be combined. The invention provides a method of manufacturing a line of fusion thread characterized in that plural filaments comprising thermoplastic resin are paralleled, twisted and/or braided if desired, and subsequently drawn under heating at a draw ratio of less than 1.0 to thereby substantially fuse the adjacent filaments to be subsequently drawn under heating at a draw ratio of more than 1.0.

Abstract: A chumming device is provided, comprising a container member defining an interior chamber adapted to contain a chum substance, and a dispersion mechanism operably engaged with the container member and configured cooperate with the container member to receive a flow of water thereby. The water flow provides an associated hydrodynamic force at least about the dispersion mechanism. The dispersion mechanism is further configured to cooperate with the container member such that the chum substance is extracted from the interior chamber of the container member and introduced directly into the water flow via the dispersion mechanism in response only to the hydrodynamic force. Associated systems, devices, and methods are also provided.
