Abstract: Garments may include targeted vent or heat retention zones including openings or heat insulation areas in the fabric of various different sizes. The locations and sizes of these openings or heat insulation areas, at least in part, may be determined based on a thermal profile of a body from which the garment is designed. For example, openings or heat insulation areas of a larger size may be provided in the garment at locations where the body typically releases a large amount of heat, and openings or heat insulation areas of smaller sizes may be provided at other locations, e.g., where the body releases less heat. Several thermal profiles may be collected and used to develop a collection of opening patterns, e.g., corresponding to specific body characteristics, body types, and/or ultimate end uses for the garment. Custom patterns may be determined and used in garments specially designed for individual users.

Abstract: A flexible nursing reminder bracelet fabricated from an elastomeric compound is reversible to indicate right and left and includes at least one movable time marker to indicate either total daily nursing time, finish time of the last nursing session, or start time of the next nursing session. One side of the bracelet is marked “RIGHT”; the other side, “LEFT”. If the outside indicates “RIGHT”, the indication can be changed to “LEFT” simply by flipping the bracelet inside-out. It can be returned to indicate “RIGHT” by flipping it again. The right and left indicators on the bracelet remind a nursing mother of which breast to use when initiating a feeding session. The flippable nature of the bracelet allows the nursing mother to keep track of this information on a single wrist. The flippable nursing reminder bracelet also has time indicators that can be read from either side.

The surface comfort device comprises an inflatable bladder having a shape and size to substantially cover at least one support surface of a shaped body support device so as to conform to and provide a comfort layer to the body support device. According to one embodiment, a self-sealing valve is coupled to a port of the inflatable bladder, and is constructed and arranged to enable all of inflation, deflation, and comfort control of the surface comfort device.

Abstract: An inflatable bed includes an inflatable main chamber having a top panel, a top cover attached to the top panel of the main chamber to define a sealed chamber between the top cover and the top panel, and a padding provided in the sealed chamber. The padding provides a solid cushion between the person and the main chamber, so that when a person sleeps on the bed, the person actually lays on the padding and not the top panel of the main chamber.

Abstract: A system and method for maintaining an air inflation mattress configuration sufficient for patient support and comfort. Infrared illumination levels are measured within individual or groups of inflated mattress chambers. A staggered approach to illumination monitoring of chambers or sections to eliminate crosstalk between the infrared sensors is carried out. Distributed microprocessor controllers established in a network configuration utilizing controller network protocols reduces the wiring and connections necessary for the assembled system. Various mattress cushion construction techniques, such as sewing and or RF welding methods, are used for the creation of individual chambers utilizing specific types of IR translucent, transparent or reflective materials. The construction of the cushions and bladders in the system includes the use of various types of fabrics with low to high air loss qualities as required.

Abstract: A full length mattress pad is provides improved patient support for all parts of the user's body through provision of a support surface supplement for use with existing support surfaces, such as for use on top of a conventional mattress or hospital bed. The pad has a body of resilient material having a relatively flat, planar lower surface for being received on top of the existing support surface, and has a length at least generally the same as that of the mattress, or at least long enough to support the full length of a user. An inclined upper surface is defined by the body of resilient material, and has a plurality of different longitudinal sections. The plurality of different longitudinal sections collectively define a predetermined angle of inclination for the inclined upper surface which is relatively constant along the entire length of the body of resilient material relative to its planar lower surface.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an aqueous composition for dry cleaning and/or degreasing textiles and/or leathers, which composition is natural and biodegradable. The dry cleaning composition of the invention comprises in particular essential oils and surface active agents, it is etherizable and micronizable, and its ingredients are exclusively of vegetable origin. The invention also relates to a method of dry cleaning and/or degreasing textiles and/or leathers implementing the above-described aqueous composition, the method comprising a succession of stages of tumbling the textiles and/or leathers in a leaktight enclosure, wherein one of the stages consists in impregnating the textiles and/or leathers with a small quantity of an aqueous composition by means of pneumatic atomization at a size no more than 50 ?m, for a limited duration, and at a temperature of about 35° to 45° C., until the total weight gain is about 5% to 70%.

Abstract: The present invention provides for a method of dosing treating agents into a washing machine in particular sequences so that only one treating agent is dosed at one time. This avoids interaction of incompatible treating agents as well as provide for better cleaning as now one treating agent can perform without interference from other treating agents typically found in washing machines.

Abstract: A drum type washing machine and a method of detecting laundry weight thereof that is capable of calculating a ratio of input voltage applied to a motor through phase control until the motor reaches a determined number of rotations to accurately detect the weight of laundry or the amount of eccentricity of the laundry received in a drum connected to the motor. The drum type washing machine comprises a motor for rotating a drum, and a control unit for controlling the number of rotations of the motor depending upon a washing operation and calculating a ratio of input voltage applied to the motor, i.e., a modified voltage value, to determine the weight of laundry received in the drum. The weight of laundry received in the drum is accurately detected in steps, and therefore, water consumption is reduced, and a uniform washing operation is performed.
