Abstract: An adjustable shim for positioning a closure unit in a rough opening. The closure unit includes a frame with a perimeter edge and at least one longitudinal recess in the perimeter edge. The adjustable shim includes an attachment member adapted to releasably couple with the longitudinal recess and at least one deformable leg having a first end and a second end coupled to the attachment member. An elongated member is coupled to the deformable leg in a compact configuration. Displacement of the elongated member in a first direction deforms the leg into an expanded configuration. The adjustable shim in the expanded configuration creates opposing forces simultaneously acting on the perimeter edge and the rough opening sufficient to suspend the closure unit in the rough opening. A method and system for installing a closure unit in a rough opening using the adjustable shim is also disclosed.

Abstract: A fire barrier component has an outer sleeve retaining and protecting a fire stop material therein which is preferably compressed. The outer sleeve when exposed to a fire condition partially fails and the fire stop material forms the fire stop barrier. The fire stop material if compressed expands and can cooperate with adjacent components to form an effective fire stop barrier. The firestop barrier component can be factory made and used in complete fire barrier systems, or the component can be used as part of a specific field application. The component may be sold in longer lengths and cut as required to meet a particular application. Conventional saws work satisfactorily in cutting of the component while maintaining the performance of the component when exposed to a fire condition.

A cluster hanger clip is provided to securely hold a cluster of grapes by the stem, in order to cut, carry, and transport the cluster with minimal or no touching of the grape berries. A grape harvesting vehicle which moves between the rows of grapevines in the vineyard, includes grape conveyors, on which the hanger clips are suspended, either temporarily or permanently. The conveyors convey the grape clusters to packers at packing stations on the platform. The packers segregate the grape clusters and pack the clusters into boxes. A palletizer stacks the boxes on pallets in a bin. The platform can change configuration for use in the vineyard, and for travel on the highway.

Abstract: A method of fabrication of a rocket engine nozzle assembly using pressure brazing generally includes initially assembling a rocket engine nozzle liner into a rocket engine nozzle jacket for a rocket engine nozzle assembly. The rocket engine nozzle assembly may then be sealed. Prior to pressure brazing the rocket engine nozzle assembly, pressure brazing parameters may be determined. The pressure brazing may be performed with the determined pressure brazing parameters to complete the fabrication of the rocket engine nozzle. The rocket engine nozzle assembly may include a rocket engine nozzle jacket and a rocket engine nozzle liner having a plurality of channels, with the space between each channel defining a land, and the rocket engine nozzle liner having at least a pair of endlands disposed at each end thereof. The rocket engine nozzle liner is bonded to the rocket engine nozzle jacket by the endlands being bonded to the nozzle jacket and the lands being pressure brazed to the nozzle jacket.

Abstract: A power plant comprises a gas turbo group with a heat transfer apparatus, for example a recuperator for the preheating of the combustion air, arranged downstream of the turbine in the smoke gas path of the gas turbo group. A smoke gas purification catalyst is arranged downstream of at least part of the heat transfer apparatus, at a point at which the smoke gas is already cooled as a result of heat exchange to an extent such that irreversible damage to the catalyst due to overheating is avoided. On the other hand, the point is selected such that a temperature necessary for maintaining the catalytic smoke gas purification is ensured. In a preferred embodiment, a temperature measurement point is arranged, at which the temperature of the catalyst or of the smoke gas flowing into the catalyst is determined, so that this temperature can be regulated by means of suitable regulating actions.
