Abstract: To provide a fixing device for a steering device capable of tilt adjustment and having a very simple cam structure. The fixing device includes a fixed bracket; a movable bracket; a lock bolt that passes through the fixed bracket and the movable bracket; a main drive cam, through which the lockbolt passes, and that is fitted to rotate freely; and a driven cam, through which the lock bolt passes, and that is fitted unrotatably. Cam operation parts are formed on the main drive cam and the driven cam respectively. Cam operation parts on both sides are always in contact with the other side while the main drive cam and the driven cam separate and come close in the axial direction, and the diameter of the driven cam is larger than the diameter of the main drive cam.

The stem including a clamp portion that defines a fork-receiving aperture having a size and a first flange that is integrally-formed as part of the clamp portion and extends from the clamp portion. A second flange is integrally-formed as part of the clamp portion and extends from the clamp portion. The second flange is spaced apart from the first flange and a first clamp interface member is in contact with the first flange. A second clamp interface member is in contact with the second flange such that movement of one of the first clamp interface member and the second clamp interface member toward the other of the first clamp interface member and the second clamp interface member reduces the size of the fork-receiving aperture.

Abstract: This invention related to an improved cam mechanism of low vibration air driven screwdriver, in particular, applicable to the clutch for the electric or pneumatic screwdriver in an effort to reduce the vibration to the minimum. The orbital surface of the cam body provides three segments of cyclic stroke, each stroke comprises the top dead point and the bottom dead point and each segment further contains four phases stroke, namely phase stroke A, phase stroke B, phase stroke C and phase stroke D. Each stroke of the orbital surface forms a recess for the catch ball to move. These two new designs are intended to reduce the vibration to the minimum and to cut the production cost in one way and to increase the friction area between the cam body and the ball so as to elongate the service life span in other way.

Abstract: A Powered Lower Bobbin Feed (“PLBF”) system is disclosed for improving the operation of deflector type rotary braiding machines, such as the Wardwell Rapid Braider. The PLBF eliminates or reduces the impulsive tension spikes set up by the deflection and feed process in current rotary braiding machines by uniquely controlling the lower bobbin filament feed. These tension spikes result from: the rapid rotational acceleration and deceleration required of the lower bobbin as a result of the feed process; the lever arm tension control and bobbin ratchet mechanism; and the shape of the filament deflector surface. Such failure limits the operating speed of rotary braiding machines, the minimum size of filament that can be braided effectively, or the ability to maintain the quality of the braid produced. By eliminating or reducing these spikes, the PLBF therefore can increase the working speed of circular braiding machines and improve the uniformity of braided filaments generated by such machines at a given speed.

The flow rate of fluid from reservoir 13 into annular chamber 7 is restricted by the radial gap between bolt 10 and high pressure cylinder 3. The cross sectional area of both annular chamber 7 and vent 11 are greater than that of the radial gap between bolt 10 and high pressure cylinder 3 therefore fluid cannot enter annular chamber 7 at sufficient rate to cause a pressure rise in annular chamber 7 thus seal 8 is isolated from fluid at pressures above its safe operating range. Abstract: The invention relates to a split piston for an internal combustion engine, comprising an upper piece, connected to a lower piece, by means of a screw connection. The screw connection comprises a tubular connector piece, mounted on the underside of the piston upper piece with an external thread, a spacer sleeve with an external and an internal thread and a support rib formed on the lower piece of the piston with an internal thread. The upper piece can thus be screwed to the lower piece, by means of the connector piece, the spacer sleeve and the support rib. The spacer sleeve acts as a compressing body and the connector piece as an extending body, to generate the mechanism tension necessary for fixing the screw connection.

Abstract: An improved control scheme is set forth for an adsorption process that removes water and carbon dioxide (CO2) from a feed gas using a hybrid of both temperature swing (i.e. TSA) and pressure swing (PSA) to regenerate the adsorbent. The control scheme comprises adjusting the quantity of heat to be provided by the regeneration gas as a function of temperature data taken within a strategic portion of the water selective adsorbent zone. The strategic portion corresponds to the location for the desired transition from regeneration by temperature swing, to regeneration by pressure swing. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, said quantity of regeneration heat is also adjusted as a function of the water content of the feed gas.

Abstract: A cover-driven book production method and system are disclosed. The method of cover-driven book production includes providing a plurality of book covers. The book covers can be identified using, for example, a scanner. A book block can then be retrieved from a book repository based on the identified cover. After performing raster image processing (RIP) of the book block, copies of the book block can be printed. Finishing can be accomplished by binding the printed book blocks to the book covers using an in-line binder or off-line binder.

Abstract: Biogas released from landfills and sewage treatment plants is freed of siloxane contaminants by passing the biogas through a bed containing activated alumina, which absorbs the siloxanes. When the activated alumina becomes saturated with siloxanes, the absorption capability of the activated alumina can be recovered by passing a regeneration gas through the bed of activated alumina. A system containing two or more beds of activated alumina can use one bed to remove siloxanes from biogas while one or more of the other beds are being regenerated.

Abstract: A system and method for passive hypoxic training provides a person with a low oxygen (hypoxic) environment. Oxygen sensors automatically monitor and control oxygen levels to maintain the altitude desired. CO2 levels are monitored and CO2 is eliminated so that the air a person breathes is substantially clean and fresh. Exposure to a high altitude environment produces physiological changes in a person's body, which becomes more efficient at absorbing and transporting oxygen. Using the present method and system, athletes obtain the benefits of sleeping at a simulated altitude in the user's own home for six to twelve hours, rather than traditional altitude therapies in which athletes spend two to three weeks at high altitude before an athletic competition to obtain similar benefits. This system allows for “live high train low” altitude training that has been shown in controlled studies to provide superior benefits to “live high train high” training.

Abstract: The invention relates to a miniaturized facility for storing and/or enriching molecules and/or atoms, especially for us in a miniature gas-phase chromatograph, and to a method for producing such a miniaturized facility. The invention provides a facility which facilitates an effective sample enrichment in miniaturized analyses devices, especially miniature gas-phase chromatographs. The facility comprises a compartment (1) filled with a loading agent (2) that consists of carbon nanotubes and/or carbon nanofibers or contains the same. The facility can be easily produced by microsystem engineering methods and requires little energy. The invention also relates to a method for producing such an enrichment facility.

Abstract: A filter element, including a filter body having an inflow side and outflow side, the filter body being constructed in layers, at least one layer including granular adsorbents and at least one further layer including activated carbon fibers. The filter element may be used in a filter system which ensures optimum utilization of the load capacity of the filter element used in that a first layer, which includes activated carbon fibers is assigned to the inflow side and a second layer, which includes granular adsorbents, adjoins this layer on the outflow side. A filter system includes the filter element.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for preparing a beverage by injection of water through a capsule containing a substance to be dissolved and/or to be extracted. The device comprises at least one water-injection system for introducing water inside the capsule. The injection system can be switched in order for a selection to be made between at least two different modes of wetting the substance so as to adapt wetting in accordance with the type of capsule and/or with the nature of the substance contained in the capsule. The invention aims to propose a device suitable for the preparation of a wider range of beverages, foaming or non-foaming, from substances to be extracted and/or soluble substances.
