Abstract: A level with magnetic device relates to a measuring instrument. That level includes a case body and a bubble cell on the case body, and it is characterized in that the cross section of the bottom of the case body, being the location of the reference plane, has a profiled shape, and furthermore by this is constituted a profiled slot on the bottom of the case body, a magnet is placed inside the profiled slot on the bottom of said case body, an elastic retaining bracket is pressed on top of the magnet, and the shapes of that elastic retaining bracket and the profiled slot are complementarily matched. That level solves the problem of instability of precision of the contemporary level with magnetic device, and it is widely applicable in the level industry.

Abstract: An attachment for a carpenter's speed square is disclosed. The attachment comprises a C-shaped channel for accepting in slidable engagement a flange of the speed square. An extension extends from a first side of the C-shaped channel generally parallel to an axis thereof and terminates at a distal end thereof. A plurality of thumb screws are included to fix the C-shaped channel rigidly to the speed square. In use, the attachment is slid onto the flange of the speed square and a saw is brought into contact with the speed square such that a base plate of the saw abuts a fence edge of the triangular base. The C-shaped channel is extended towards the saw until the distal end of the extension contacts a surface of a saw blade. The plurality of thumb screws are then tightened. As such, the distal end of the extension extends a distance d away from the fence edge, the distance d corresponding to the distance between the surface of the saw blade and a fence contacting edge of the saw base plate.

Abstract: Multi-pane glazing units have their internal cavity vented to atmosphere by way of one or more venting apertures that are plugged by porous ‘breathing’ plugs of predetermined permeativity, to permit controlled equalization of cavity pressure with the atmosphere. The provision of two such apertures permits the admission of a flow of demoisturizing air or other gas, to de-mist the glazing unit. The plugs permit the outward transfer of moisture from the unit cavity, and may control the rate of cavity pressure change. The outer glazing pane may be thicker than the inner pane, to better withstand wind gusts. The venting apertures may be through the glass or the unit peripheral seal.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method for targeting hunting or sports weapons, where a shooting person fires a number of shots. The invention also concerns an auxiliary device for performing the method. There is provided an adjusting bench for use by adjusting sights when targeting rifles, including a support holder in which the rifle is fastened with a support holder of rotary seated mainly about a horizontal and a vertical axis, whereby it becomes possible to fix the rifle directed towards the sighting point on a target provided at the distance at which the rifle is targeted. After determining and possibly marking a mean impact point on the target, it will thus be possible, while holding the rifle in the adjusting bench, to perform an accurate adjustment of the sights and simultaneously to follow the movement of the sight while operating the sight adjusting means.

Abstract: An accessory mounting device for use with firearms is disclosed. The mounting device includes a first pin having a first head and a second pin having a second head, wherein the second head projects radially beyond the second pin only on one side of the second pin. The device further includes first and second apertures to receive the first and second pins, respectively, and a first undercut associated with the first aperture, wherein the first undercut is compatible with the first head and a second undercut associated with the second aperture, wherein the second undercut is compatible with the second head. Also included is a spring-loaded locking device attached to the second pin and a handle associated with the spring-loaded locking device. The handle moves the second pin against the force of the spring axially in the direction of the second head so that when the second pin is turned by the handle, the second head pushes against the force of the spring on the second undercut.

In addition, apparatus such as a nut/bolt combination, screws, pins, or rivets is operatively associated with the first strut for attaching the first strut to a waterfowl decoy such that the horizontal planar surface of the stabilizing plate is positioned substantially horizontally when the stabilizing keel is attached to a decoy and oriented for use. The stabilizing plate may include a vertical planar surface which is positioned normal to the horizontal planar surface. Similarly, in certain embodiments the first strut may include a first planar strut surface. The first planar strut surface and the vertical planar surface may be parallel when the stabilizing keel is operatively oriented, together forming a vertical face which is perpendicular to the horizontal planar surface of the stabilizing plate.

Abstract: A device and method for baiting a hook with bait, such as a worm. The device is a band engageable body with a rod extending from one end. The distal end of the rod has a hook engaging notch and the other end of the body has a leader engaging notch. In use, a hook is placed in the rod notch, and tension is applied to the leader to secure the hook in place and the leader is placed in said leader engaging notch to maintain such tension. Bait is then forced over the entire hook to generally encapsulate the same. Tension on the leader is released and the encapsulated hook is removed from the hook notch.

Abstract: An insect trap is provided that is constructed of a precut sheet of foldable material. The sheet includes vent slots and adhesive layers over selected solid exterior areas. One or more base score lines extend across the mid-portion of the sheet to divide the sheet into first and second side walls. A flap score line extends across the upper sheet width to define a flap section and lateral score lines extend along the longitudinal extent of the sheet inward from the sheet opposing lateral edges, to define end wall parts. The trap is assembled by folding inwardly the end wall parts and rotating together the first and second side walls about the base score lines. The side walls are held together by rotating the flap section about the flap score line and securing it to corresponding upper portions of the adhesive layers.

Abstract: A packaging apparatus for cut flowers includes an elongated body having a closed base and an upper portion with an open top that extends from the base. The base serves as a reservoir for water and supports the apparatus an upright orientation. Strips of flexible material are secured to the top of the upper portion of the body and function as handles. In operation, the apparatus is filled with water and one or more flowers. The water assists in forcing the body into a generally cylindrical shape having a flat bottom and also functions as a weight that further supports the body in its upright orientation. The cut portions of the stems of the flowers thus have the advantage of being positioned in a reservoir of water during later transportation and the upper portion provides space to safely accommodate the stem, leaves and petal portions of the flower(s).

Abstract: This invention is a device for irrigating tree seedlings and other small plants, to ensure that said plants stay moist in the critical few weeks following their planting. The device uses a bag, approximately 1 gallon capacity, constructed of biodegradable plastic, such as cornstarch, which slowly degrades into the soil so as to not leave residue in the planting field. The bag has a top filling opening with an adhesive sealing flap, and contains a multi-layered disk which acts as a passive valve which permits the slow drip-release of water from the bag over a 2-3 week period following planting. The multi-layered disk is made of two layers of thin plastic, a layer of special laboratory filter paper, and a layer of adhesive-sided gasket material which attaches said disk to said biodegradable bag. The design of the hole patterns in the layers of the disk, and the assembly and precise compression of said layers during manufacture, result in a device that produces the desired slow-release flow characteristics.
