Publication number: 20070005323Abstract: Hardware logic for generating breakpoint signals based on state changes in observed (“tagged”) hardware resource of a design under test is automatically generated and added to the simulation model of the design under test. These breakpoints halt simulation when a user programmable event, such as an assertion, test-case failure, or trigger occurs. Allowing the end-user to define the register values used in comparison to or timing of tagged resources, results in breakpoints that can be created, changed, enabled, or disabled without rebuilding the simulation model. Because the breakpoint logic is in-circuit, it takes full advantage of the acceleration made possible by hardware simulators, while providing an interactive environment for both functional hardware verification and software development on the simulated hardware mode.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2005Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventors: Aaron Patzer, Joseph Perrie, Steven Roberts, Todd Swanson

Publication number: 20070005325Abstract: An arrangement is provided for using a precision space (“p-space”) to represent s-parameters when analyzing/simulating a circuit/network. The p-space is one dimensional with a value range corresponding to the value range of s-parameters. The p-space is divided into multiple slots where the number of slots may depend on the permissible precision of s-parameter values. A mapping relationship between s-parameters and p-space slots may be obtained by partitioning an s-parameter matrix. Based on the mapping relationship, p-space representations of original s-parameters may be generated through a forward projection process from s-parameters in a two-dimensional matrix to the one-dimensional p-space. During the simulation process, a p-space representation may be projected back to original s-parameters in a matrix based on the mapping relationship.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2005Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventors: Jian Gong, Changhong Dai

Method for production of a system for representation of an electrical network, and use of the method
Publication number: 20070005326Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention is a method for producing a system for describing an electrical network. An output signal of the electrical network is sampled at a frequency that corresponds to the Nyquist criterion for the input signal to the electrical network. A model with a memory is developed for the output signal, which is sampled at a low sampling rate, with this model approximating the output signal. The model is then transformed by suitable interpolation to an interpolated model with a memory. The interpolation results in the model created in this way providing a good approximation to an output signal which is sampled at a high frequency. The resultant system can be used for predistortion.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2006Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventors: Heinz Koppl, Peter Singerl -

Publication number: 20070005328Abstract: A hardware and software co-simulation method for non-blocking cache access mechanism verification is provided. The method is applied for cache access mechanism verification. First, at least one way buffer is added into the software modeling, then the hardware and software modeling are simulated. Wherein, the hardware modeling issues a trigger event for reading request when one ‘outstanding miss’ occurs. At this moment, the software modeling stores the data of the address to be accessed into a way buffer. When the hardware modeling obtains the data from the main memory, it issues a trigger event for reading completion, and causes for writing the data from the way buffer into the data memory of the software modeling. The verification result of the software simulation is compared with the verification result of the hardware simulation.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2005Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventor: Kuen-Geeng Lee

A rule is satisfied when a keyword from the first of the semantic classes is in a syntactic relationship with a keyword from the second of the semantic classes. The syntactic relationship can be any one of a plurality of syntactic relationships.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2005Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventors: Agnes Sandor, Aaron Kaplan

Publication number: 20070005344Abstract: A system for retrieving documents related to a concept from a text corpus includes a set of stored semantic classes which are combinable to express the concept each class including a set of keywords, each set of keywords including at least one keyword. Syntactic rules are applied to identified text portions which include one or more of the keywords. A rule is satisfied when keywords from the first and second semantic classes are in any one of a plurality of syntactic relationships. A concept matching module identifies text portions within the text corpus which include one or more of the keywords, for applying the syntactic rules to the text portions, and for identifying those text portions which satisfy at least one of the rules. Documents to be retrieved may include at least one of the identified text portions.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2005Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventors: Agnes Sandor, Aaron Kaplan

Publication number: 20070005345Abstract: An approach of constructing Chinese language couplets, in particular, a second scroll sentence given a first scroll sentence is presented. The approach includes constructing a language model, a word translation-like model, and word association information such as mutual information values that can be used later in generating second scroll sentences of Chinese couplets. A Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is used to generate candidates. A Maximum Entropy (ME) model can then be used to re-rank the candidates to generate one or more reasonable second scroll sentences give a first scroll sentence.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2005Publication date: January 4, 2007Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Ming Zhou, Heung-Yeung Shum

Publication number: 20070005346Abstract: A mobile terminal apparatus that considers intervals between key input operations when characters are input, and, when there is an interval grater than a certain period of time between operations, or when a shift is made to different character input, reads aloud the voice corresponding to the stored input character and reads aloud only the character the user needs to check. In this apparatus, when other characters are continuously input by the same key input within a predetermined time, character selection fixing section 201 updates the stored content in present candidate storage section 202, outputs the updated candidate character to display control section 204 as a displaying character and displays the updated candidate character on liquid crystal display section 103. At this time, the voice corresponding to the displaying candidate character is not reproduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2004Publication date: January 4, 2007Applicant: MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.Inventors: Shinji Ueda, Hiroyuki Motozuka, Tomohiro Imai

Publication number: 20070005348Abstract: An device for analyzing an audio signal to obtain an analysis representation of the audio signal includes means for calculating a neural activity pattern over time resulting at nerve fibers of an ear model based on the audio signal and means for processing the neural activity pattern to obtain as an analysis representation a sequence of time information describing a temporal position of consecutive trajectories, wherein a trajectory includes activity impulses on different nerve fibers based on the same event in the audio signal. An inventive device for analyzing the audio signal provides an analysis representation of the audio signal generating information characteristic for the audio signal in an especially efficient way. The analysis information generated in the inventive way may for example be advantageously used for an automatic recognition of an audio signal content for example in the form of speech recognition.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2005Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventor: Frank Klefenz

Publication number: 20070005349Abstract: AC-3 is a high quality audio compression format widely used in feature films and, more recently, on Digital Versatile Disks (DVD). For consumer applications the algorithm is usually coded into the firmware of a DSP Processor, which due to cost considerations may be capable of only fixed point arithmetic. It is generally assumed that 16-bit processing is incapable of delivering the high fidelity audio, expected from the AC-3 technology. Double precision computation can be utilized on such processors to provide the high quality; but the computational burden of such implementation will be beyond the capacity of the processor to enable real-time operation. Through extensive simulation study of a high quality AC-3 encoder implementation, a multi-precision technique for each processing block is presented whereby the quality of the encoder on a 16-bit processor matches the single precision 24-bit implementation very closely without excessive additional computational complexity.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2006Publication date: January 4, 2007Applicant: STMICROELECTRONICS ASIA PACTIFIC (PTE) LTD.Inventors: Mohammed Absar, Sapna George, Antonio Alvarez-Tinoco
