  • Patent number: 7163097
Abstract: A clutch assembly 100 is provided for a motor having an armature shaft and a worm shaft having a worm constructed and arranged to engage a gear. The clutch assembly includes a clutch housing 112 including a race surface 132; a cam 117 coupled to the worm shaft; follower structure 122 operatively associated with the cam; a clutch plate 114, and a clutch coupler 118 associated with the clutch plate, the cam, and the follower structure. The coupler is coupled to the armature shaft for rotation therewith, such that rotation of the coupler rotates the clutch plate, the cam and follower structure, and thus the worm shaft. During a back drive condition of the motor, when torque is transmitted to the worm shaft and thus to the cam, the cam is constructed and arranged to causes the follower structure 122 to contact and exert pressure on the race surface 132 thereby preventing rotation of the worm shaft.

  • Patent number: 7163099
Abstract: Storage device with variable storage capacity. The storage device includes an input area, an output area, a continuous conveying element connecting the input area to the output area. The continuous conveying element is guided by guide elements in a looping manner from the input area to the output area, whereby the continuous conveying element defines a multi-layered storage area adapted to store products and a multi-layered return area adapted to be free of products. The multi-layered storage and return areas are arranged side by side and change in length depending on a state of fullness of the storage device while an overall length of the continuous conveying element remains generally constant. At least one storage layer of the multi-layered storage area and at least one storage layer of the multi-layered return area is arranged on a common horizontal plane. This Abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 7163102
Abstract: Disposable packaging, comprising a container (1) that defines a main compartment (2) and at least an additional compartment (3). The container (1) is bowl-shaped and is closed on the upper side by a film, or by a cover, in order to prevent the main food component contained inside the main compartment (2)—from coming out. Moreover, the additional compartment (3) is closed by a slidable sealing system of the cylinder-piston type. In the closure position of the piston, which is formed by a plug (14), the food component contained in the additional compartment (3) cannot mix with the food component located in the main compartment (2), whereas in the opening position of the plug (14), the dressing/seasoning may leak from the additional compartment (3) through lateral apertures of the plug (14), at the time the user turns over and shakes the packaging.

  • Patent number: 7163104
Abstract: A tray for a semiconductor device and the semiconductor device are disclosed in which the resist of the semiconductor is not easily separated from the substrate. A tray for semiconductor device has a support section formed as a pocket for carrying the semiconductor device, a pair of first protrusions formed on the opposite sides of the support section, and a pair of second protrusions formed on the opposite sides of the tray on the surface side reverse to the surface side where the support section are provided. The second protrusions are arranged in spaced relation to and in the same direction as the first protrusions. The interval between the first protrusions is larger than the interval between the second protrusions, so that in the case where the tray receives a shock, the semiconductor device comes into contact with the second protrusions earlier than with the first protrusions, thereby making it difficult for the resist of the semiconductor device to come off.

  • Patent number: 7163121
Abstract: A bond joint and process of bonding metal parts to one another to form seamless, hollow metal articles, particularly made from beryllium. Tooling is assembled to the parts, prior to hot pressing, to cause pressure to be applied to flanges that extend peripherally from the parts. The parts, assembled together with the tooling, are then subjected to hot isostatic pressing of the flanges at a temperature of about 1700° F. to 1750° F., and at a pressure of about 2000 psi to 2500 psi, for around 3 hours. The tooling surrounding the metal parts functions to limit the amount of compression of the flanges. Articles formed by this process are particularly useful in space flight applications because they are formed of a homogeneous material. This means that the articles can operate under high pressure despite being subjected to temperature cycling. Strength of the bond joint is enhanced because no filler metal is used.

  • Patent number: 7163123
Abstract: The present invention overcomes many of the shortcomings inherent in previous containers for packaging potato chips and/or crisps, corn based chips and/or crisps, cookies and the like. The improved implosion-resistant container of the present invention utilizes flowing geometries mechanisms which allow a hermetically sealed container to smoothly change its geometric shape thereby adjusting its internal volume in response to changes in environmental conditions. These volumetric adjustments compensate for changes in environmental conditions thereby avoiding the random buckling and deformation inherent in current packaging techniques which detracts from the commercial presentation of the container. The improved container of the present invention may also include a variety of other stress dissipating mechanisms that counteract the forces causing thermo-plastic container deformation, implosion and loss of seal integrity.

  • Patent number: 7163133
Abstract: A manufacturing apparatus, for moving sliders for opening and closing mating zipper elements along the mating zipper elements, includes a roller and a projection. The roller rotates about an axis substantially perpendicular with a path of a film including the mating zipper elements and contacts the film as the film moves in the film path at a speed equal to the speed of rotation of the roller. The projection rotates about an axis at a speed different than the rotational speed of the roller, with the projection rotating into proximity to the moving film along predetermined lengths of the film so as to be contactable with sliders mounted thereon. The projection comes into contact with sliders positioned along the mating zipper elements of the predetermined lengths of film and pushes those sliders along the mating zipper elements to respective registered positions.

Abstract: The object is the capability of providing a method of manufacturing mounting boards that enables extensive adoption of a stacked structure at a low cost. As a solution, in the method of manufacturing a mounting board in which a mounting board is manufactured by mounting a first electronic part 11 and a second electronic part 12 each having a solder bump in its bottom plane on a substrate 3 in stacked plural levels, after the first electronic part 11 is mounted on the substrate 3 that has been fed with solder, the solder bump 18 of the second electronic part 12 is mounted on the electrode 17 provided on the upper plane of the first electronic part 11, and thereafter the substrate 3 is heated in a reflow step to solder-bond the first electronic part 11 to substrate 3 along with solder-bonding the second electronic part 12 to the first electronic part 11. By such process, a stacked structure can be applied to a wide variety of electronic parts at a low cost.

Abstract: An axially elongated cylindrical tool has a protrusion at a lower end thereof which is inserted into a metallic work piece substrate under pressure during rotation of the tool and displacement thereof in one direction. Mixing of a matrix of metal and particles by the protrusion occurs within a stir zone underlying the substrate surface which is thereby treated by dispersion of the particles therein in response to rotation of the tool. Influx of the hard particles into the work piece substrate is effected during said mixing by the rotating tool.
