Abstract: A magneto-generator, a method of manufacturing the same and a resin molding die for manufacturing the same. In the magneto-generator, a guard ring is omitted with the performance of the magneto-generator being enhanced. The magneto-generator is manufactured by making use of a resin molding die (21) having an outer peripheral surface (21d) to be positioned in opposition to an inner peripheral surface of a flywheel (11) and projections (21a) provided in the outer peripheral surface (21d) for holding a plurality of magnets (12) at predetermined positions, respectively. The magnets (12) are positioned and held stationarily at predetermined positions by the aforementioned projections, respectively, and spaces defined between the resin molding die (21) and the inner peripheral surface of the flywheel (11) are filled with a resin. After hardening of the resin, the resin molding die (21) is detached from the flywheel (11).

  • Patent number: 7178222
Abstract: Insulating layers are formed on both sides of a multilayer film, and bias layers are formed in contact with at least portions of both end surfaces of a free magnetic layer. The bias layers are formed so as not to extend to the upper surface of the multilayer film. In this construction, a sensing current from electrode layers appropriately flows through the multilayer film, and a bias magnetic field can be supplied to the free magnetic layer from the bias layers through both side surfaces of the free magnetic layer. Furthermore, the magnetic domain structure of the free magnetic layer can be stabilized to permit an attempt to decrease instability of the reproduced waveform and Barkhausen noise.

  • Patent number: 7178223
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a movable contact unit includes manufacturing a movable contact, sticking the movable contact to a base sheet made of insulating resin, and applying demagnetization to the movable contact so that the residual magnetic flux density is smaller than the operation magnetic flux density of the magnetic sensor. In manufacturing the movable contact, elastic metal plate material is processed into a downwardly opening dome shape to form the movable contact. In a method of manufacturing a switch panel, the movable contact unit is overlaid on a wiring board having a contact, including pair an outer fixed contact and a central fixed contact, that corresponds to the movable contact so that the lower end of the outer periphery of the movable contact is mounted on the outer fixed contact.

  • Patent number: 7178224
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for making drainage elements in a vertical manner. In one embodiment, a vertically disposed hollow rotatable mandrel with a screw-threaded flight is used for guiding a length of perforated pipe and filling an annular space between the pipe and a cylinder of mesh material secured at one end to the pipe with aggregate. A hopper is used for directing the aggregate into the space between the mandrel and a cylindrical outlet of the hopper. A motor for driving the mandrel may be reversed at a slower speed than the forward speed to stop delivery of aggregate and to allow time for the upper end of the cylinder of mesh material to be severed and secured to the pipe to form a drainage element as well as to allow severance of the pipe. In another embodiment, the perforated pipe is driven through the hopper and the aggregate flows under gravity into the mesh sleeve.

  • Patent number: 7178233
Abstract: A process for producing a printed wiring board-forming sheet comprising a resin sheet having a through hole in the thickness direction and a metal chip inserted in the through hole. The sheet is produced by placing a resin sheet and conductive metal sheet in this order on a die base having a die hole, performing punching from the conductive metal sheet side to form a punched hole in the conductive metal sheet and to form a punched hole in the resin sheet and inserting the punched conductive metal chip in the through hole of the resin sheet whereby the front and back surfaces of the sheet can be electrically connected to each other. If the conductive metal chip is so inserted that its tip protrudes from the surface of the sheet, and if a large number of such substrates are laminated, electrical connection in the thickness direction can readily be made by virtue of the protruded conductive metal chips and a multi-layer board can be readily produced.

  • Patent number: 7178247
Abstract: An improved spoon apparatus and method includes a handle portion carrying a spoon bowl portion. The spoon bowl is clutched non-rotationally to the handle portion during a scooping motion to load the spoon bowl with food. At the initiation of the food scooping motion, essentially immediate clutching of the spoon bowl to the handle portion is effected by a fine-dimension ratchet structure of the inventive spoon. However, as soon as the scooping motion is completed by clearing of the spoon bowl from the food, the bowl portion is unclutched from the handle portion and becomes freely pivotal like a pendulum so as to remain level from side to side irrespective of rotation of the handle portion as a user moves the loaded spoon to the user's mouth. A unique combination of gravitationally induced torque as well as a gravitational force vector are utilized to effect unclutching of the spoon bowl from the handle portion.

Abstract: A tape measure includes an automatic blade extension mechanism. The tape measure allows a user to draw and lock a blade using only one hand, when measuring a dimension of an object, thus allowing the other hand to be freely used in a workplace where several operations must be carried out. Therefore, the tape measure allows the user to simultaneously perform a cutting operation, a hammering operation, a marking operation, etc. during the measuring operation. Thereby, the tape measure of this invention is convenient to use, and increases work efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7178259
Abstract: An electronic measuring device is disclosed which includes a pair of wheels connected to an axle that passes through a drive gear. The drive gear is enmeshed to a second gear which, in turn, is coaxially connected to an encoder disk. The encoder disk has spaced-apart fins around its outer periphery. As the wheels turn and the encoder disk rotates, the fins and openings between the fins pass between an emitter and a receiver. The emitter and receiver are linked to a controller which calculates the distance traversed by the wheels based upon the number of fins that pass between the emitter and receiver, or with an active counting system (ACS). The controller also includes functions to establish start and stop points for a measurement and an easy means for dividing a measured distance into equal parts or segments and a means for marking the boundary points that define the segments when the measuring device is rolled back across the measured distance. The device can be used on both planar and non-planar surfaces.

Abstract: An air dryer and process employs a jet engine for producing high quality dried products. A turbofan jet engine in an air-drying system uses both thermal and non-thermal air-drying. The turbofan jet engine is housed within an air distribution chamber for directing exhaust air and bypass air from the jet engine into a product drying tube, where it is dried through a combination of thermal drying from heat content in an engine exhaust, and by the kinetic energy of air flowing past the product traveling through the drying tube, that may include a physical impediment for retarding retard the speed of the product solids flowing in the air stream through the tube.

Abstract: The ambient air clothes dryer is an automated device providing axial flow of unheated ambient air through the dryer drum. The dryer may include different drum drive systems, timer and/or humidity detector controls, and a configuration utilizing a separate, portable fan for temporary, removable installation with the dryer housing to provide airflow through the drum. The ambient air dryer greatly reduces energy requirements for drying laundry when compared to conventional heated air dryers, and is quite effective in warm and/or dry climates. The ambient air dryer is portable and may be used indoors or outdoors. The device may be configured to use twelve-volt power from a motor vehicle for use in camping. When used indoors, the device may be placed with a heat source (heat register, etc.) to draw warm air through the drum while humidifying the air as it passes through damp laundry in the drum.
