Abstract: A process for hydro-entangling a layer of fibers into a web includes the steps of conveying a web from a supply to lie against a traveling hydro-entangling fabric. A layer of fibers is deposited onto a traveling forming fabric, the forming fabric supporting the fiber layer from below. The forming fabric and the hydro-entangling fabric converge at a combining location where the forming fabric and hydro-entangling fabric orient and travel adjacent each other such that the fiber layer and web are sandwiched between the forming fabric and the hydro-entangling fabric with the fiber layer supported from below by the hydro-entangling fabric and web. The forming fabric is separated from the fiber layer after the web and overlying fiber layer are supported from below by the hydro-entangling fabric and the hydro-entangling fabric is conveyed through a hydro-entangling station to hydro-entangle the fibers into the web.

Abstract: A system and method are described for ballizing and measuring a workpiece bore hole. In one embodiment, a ballizing unit having a distal end removably coupled to a ballizing member moves the ballizing member from a first position within the bore hole to a second position. A metrology unit having a distal end removably coupled to the ballizing member moves the ballizing member from the second position back to the first position. A sensor detects a force exerted on the ballizing member by the workpiece at a third position, which is located between the first and second positions.

Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for installing a seal is provided. The method is preferably applied to install a lip seal onto a clutch shaft of a hydraulic clutch assembly. The clutch shaft defines a lip seal groove adapted to receive the lip seal. An installation cone and a driver are provided to facilitate the installation of the lip seal into the lip seal groove. The driver is hollow and generally cylindrical, and includes a plurality of angular fingers. The installation cone is initially placed over an end portion of the clutch shaft. Thereafter, the lip seal is placed onto the installation cone. The driver is then pushed over the installation cone such that the angular fingers engage the lip seal and push the lip seal into the lip seal groove without seal roll-over.

Abstract: A machine reaming tool comprises a reaming head or interchangeable head (1) and a shaft (2), wherein the interchangeable head (1) is of one piece and may be exchanged, and in the axial direction and at each location, thus including means for the exchange adaptation, is thinner than a maximal thickness hmax, wherein this maximal thickness hmax is computed in millimetres from a diameter D1 of the interchangeable head in millimetres as hmax =6 mm+(1/10)·(D1?12 mm). On account of this, a guide portion (18) for cutters of the reaming head (1) becomes very much shorter than usual, but despite this ensures an adequate quality of machining. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the interchangeable head (1) in a plane shaft-side end-face side end-face (15) comprises cutout (11) for the centring fastening on the shaft (2).

The method includes positioning the driver blade above the piston body, inserting the driver blade into the groove in order to form an assembly of the driver blade and the piston, supplying a brazing metal onto boundary positions between the protrusions and the boss, and heating the assembly at a temperature above a melting point of the brazing metal so that molten brazing metal is flowed downwardly into spaces between the boss and the driver blade and the driver blade becomes fixed to the piston by brazing with the brazing metal.

Abstract: A commutator is made loading prefabricated metal conductor segments into a die assembly. The die assembly includes a first and second inner die and an outer die, wherein spacer strips of the outer die define the air-insulation gaps. The first step is filling of the first molding compound into intermediate spaces present between each of two adjacent conductor segments, the spaces being bounded radially outwardly by the spacer strip and radially inwardly by a rib of the first inner die, then removing the first inner die; followed by inserting the second inner die to define the contour of the support member to be molded. The last step is injecting the second molding compound into the die under pressure, in the course of which the first and second molding compounds are cross-linked and cured by pressure and heat of the second molding compound.

An upper gap layer is formed on the lower gap layer, the upper gap layer being made of the non-magnetic material. A resist layer is formed on the upper gap layer, and the resist layer is removed from an end surface. The upper gap layer not covered with the resist layer is removed, while exposing a new film surface by removing a surface oxidation layer of the resist layer. A return path layer is formed by plating on the exposed lower gap layer, the upper gap layer, and the resist layer through the plating underlayer.

Abstract: During the production of a lithium microbattery, the electrolyte containing a lithiated compound is formed by successively depositing an electrolytic thin film, a first protective thin film that is chemically inert in relation to the lithium, and a first masking thin film on a substrate provided with current collectors and a cathode. A photolithography step is carried out on the first masking thin film in order to create a mask for selectively etching the first masking thin layer, and the first protective thin layer and the electrolytic thin film are then selectively etched in such a way as to form the electrolyte in the electrolytic thin film. This technique enables the electrolyte to be formed by photolithography and etching without causing any damage thereto.
