Publication number: 20070074931Abstract: According to OSHA, ladder falls account for over twenty thousand workplace injuries and as many as 36 deaths per year. Many people who use ladders in the home for painting, changing light bulbs, etc . . . describe feeling unbalanced, wobbly, and nervous, especially when standing on A-frame ladders. Many ladder falls occur simply because the user loses his balance on the higher steps. Adding a sturdy grip or rail to the ladder would help users maintain their balance. Users prone to vertigo or unbalance may derive more security from the existence of the safety grip. The invention comprises a sturdy bar attached to the frame of a ladder and extendable above the top of the ladder. The bar is extendable by means of two hollow tubes attached firmly to the frame of the ladder, through which both ends of the bar can slide. A locking mechanism enables the safety bar to be extendable to different heights above the ladder. The safety bar is made of a sturdy material such as metal, plastic, wood, or strong aluminum.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 5, 2005Publication date: April 5, 2007Inventor: George Armondo

Publication number: 20070074968Abstract: A system and method is provided for using an ionized physical vapor deposition (iPVD) source for uniform metal deposition having uniform plasma density at relatively low (5 mTorr) and relatively high (65 mTorr) operation. Magnet structure is combined with an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) source to shift the plasma toward the chamber periphery during low pressure operation to enhance uniformity, while plasma uniformity is promoted by randomization or thermalization of the plasma at higher pressures. Accordingly, uniformity is provided for both deposition and etching in combined sequential deposition-etch processes and for no-net-deposition (NND) and low-net-deposition (LND) deposition-etching processes.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2005Publication date: April 5, 2007Inventor: Mirko Vukovic

Publication number: 20070074970Abstract: The present invention comprises an apparatus for manufacturing a sputtering target that has a crucible for holding a liquid material. The crucible has a discharge opening. A positioning mechanism is mounted adjacent the crucible. A substrate is held by the positioning mechanism. The positioning mechanism moves the substrate such that the material is deposited onto the substrate. A method of manufacturing a sputtering target is also disclosed. The method includes melting an material and discharging the material through a nozzle. A substrate is moved adjacent the nozzle such that the material is deposited onto the substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 19, 2006Publication date: April 5, 2007Applicant: CP Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Clifford Purdy, Gregory Howard

Publication number: 20070074974Abstract: The application of anti-corrosion base coating by cataphoretic painting (KTL) is well known in manufacturing automobile body parts. However, the cataphoretic paint can penetrate only incompletely or possibly not at all into the gap in the contact areas of the components joined to each other. This type of gap is conventionally sealed following cataphoretic painting, in order to ensure corrosion protection for the entire assembly. The present invention makes it possible to dispense with the sealing in the production of an assembly of joined conductive components and nevertheless to ensure a sufficient corrosion protection. By introducing topographic changes in the components projecting from their surface in the known contact areas and then joining these components, they are spaced apart by the projecting topographic changes in such a manner that during cataphoretic painting the paint wets the entire surface of the assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 16, 2006Publication date: April 5, 2007Inventors: Wolfgang BECKER, Alfred Fuchs, Klaus Goth, Markus Knoeller, Dirk Lindenau, Claus-Dieter Reiniger, Daniel Zauner

Publication number: 20070074976Abstract: A method for determining a fatigue status of a growing crack in a substrate. An electrochemical sensor device is provided and includes an electrode formed from a stainless steel mesh. The electrochemical device has a bottom surface that contacts the substrate. The bottom surface is coated with an adhesive layer, and a release paper is attached to the adhesive layer. The release paper is separated from the adhesive layer, thereby exposing the adhesive layer. The electrochemical sensor device is secured to the substrate by bringing the adhesive layer in contact with the substrate and thereby forming an electrolyte cavity bounded in part by the substrate. The adhesive seals the bottom surface of the device to the substrate in order to prevent leakage of electrolyte from the cavity. The cavity is filled with the electrolyte.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2005Publication date: April 5, 2007Inventors: Monty Moshier, William Berks
