  • Patent number: 7207574
Abstract: A stabilizer bar for controlling the roll of an automotive vehicle has left and right sections, each provided with a torsion rod and a torque arm. The torsion rods are aligned along a transverse axis and attached to a structural component of the vehicle, while the torque arms are connected to the left and right control arms of the vehicle's suspension system. In addition, the bar has a coupling between the torsion rods of the two sections for controlling the torsional stiffness of the bar. The coupling includes a rotor fitted to one of the torsion rods and a housing fitted to the other torsion rod, with the housing receiving the rotor, such that a cavities exist between the rotor and housing. Both the rotor and housing carry vanes, that alternate so that the vanes of the rotor are located between the vanes of the housing. The cavities contain a magneto-rheological fluid.

  • Patent number: 7207575
Abstract: A rear tractor suspension for a tractor includes a suspension arm pivotally coupled to the chassis of the tractor, and a hydraulic cylinder coupled to the suspension arm to support it. The hydraulic cylinder conveys only longitudinal forces in a first mode of operation in which the suspension is not substantially loaded. When a substantial load is placed upon the suspension and the suspension arm begins to bend within normal operational and design limits, the hydraulic cylinder counteracts the load applied to the suspension, the torsional moment it produces, and the torsioning of the suspension arm by automatically applying a counteracting torsional moment to the suspension arm.

  • Patent number: 7207583
Abstract: A spacer apparatus for insulating a beam bushing assembly of an axle/suspension system from direct metal-to-metal contact with the vehicle frame hanger on which the assembly is pivotally mounted. In one embodiment, an integrally-formed one-piece apparatus includes a spacer disk portion and collar portions, whereby the collars provide a complementary fit of the spacer apparatus on the bushing assembly mounting tube, and generally prevents or minimizes relative movement between the spacer disk and bushing assembly. In other embodiments, one or more load dissipation structures mounted on or forming a part of the beam and/or its bushing assembly prevent substantially non-planar surfaces of the assembly from contacting a spacer disk by increasing the bearing area of those surfaces which contact the disk. These apparatus generally eliminate excessive wear or damage to the spacer disk and possible resulting damage to the axle/suspension system.

  • Patent number: 7207584
Abstract: An auxiliary power system for a bicycle having a motor (10) attached to the bicycle flame (22) by thin clamps (30), which can be arranged in a variety of positions to avoid disturbing the control cables. Power is delivered on demand via a sprocket driving a single freewheel (180) attached to a modified left crank (200). The gearbox (20) may be attached to the frame by means of a quick-release system. A bushing (600), (700), (820) may be used instead of a modified as a means of mounting the freewheel to the crank axle. (720), (610), (850b). To prevent accidental simultaneous braking and triggering, triggering the system is accomplished by placing the trigger switch (430) so that the rider's fingers must disengage the brake in order to engage the motor. Accidental triggering may be prevented by placing a trigger switch on each handle and wiring them in series so that both switches must be engaged to obtain power.

  • Patent number: 7207595
Abstract: A side airbag apparatus includes an airbag, an inflator and a limited thickness portion. The inflator supplies gas to the airbag. When the airbag is inflated and deployed, the limited thickness portion limits the inflation of the airbag such that the thickness of a portion of the airbag corresponding to an elbow portion of an occupant on the seat is less than the thickness of the remainder of the airbag with respect to the measurement between the occupant and the body side portion. The airbag includes an inflation portion that entirely surrounds the limited thickness portion and is inflated with gas from the inflator. • Patent number: 7207597
Abstract: When a gas generating agent 9a inside a first combustion chamber 5a is burnt, a gas generating agent 9b is prevented from being burnt by function of a metal thin plate 11 closing a communication hole 10 with a second combustion chamber 5b. A cup 1190 having a hole 1191 is covered on an igniter 1112, and the flame thereof advances into a transfer charge 1116 straightly in a narrow width. The ring is shaped to receive a sealing gasket and has two side faces wherein each side face is shaped to frictionally engage one of the tubular members to thereby prevent relative axial rotation between the tubular members. The invention is also directed to a coupling including a locking ring. The tubular members are generally coaxially arranged such that the sealing faces face each other. The coupling comprises a sealing gasket captured between the sealing beads for sealing the coupling, wherein the frictional surfaces engage the sealing gasket to prevent relative rotation between the tubular members.

Abstract: A mechanical pipe joint, restraining gasket, and method for restraining pipe spigots within adjacent bell sockets. The restraining gasket is composed of two axially-separate components: a sealing portion and a restraining portion made of a plurality of arcuate locking members. The restraining gasket and a gland surround an outer surface of the pipe spigot. The mechanical pipe joint is formed as the pipe spigot is inserted into the bell socket and the gland is axially attached to the bell socket so that the restraining gasket is held between: the gland, an inner surface of the bell socket, and the outer surface of the pipe spigot, so as to provide a fluid seal in the joint and urge the locking members into contact with the outer surface of the pipe spigot, axially restraining the pipe spigot within the bell socket.

Abstract: The invention relates to a coaxial two-component cartridge, with an outer tube and a separate inner tube, both of which tape at one respective end into a respective neck, wherein the inner side of the neck of the outer tube and the outer side of the neck of the inner tube are each provided with locking elements that can be moved into engagement with each other, for a coaxial introduction of the inner tube into the outer tube, such that they fix the inner tube relative to the outer tube coaxially and in a predetermined axial position. The coaxial two-component cartridge distinguishes itself in that the locking elements of the neck of the outer tube are formed by a plurality in the axial direction of successive channels, and the locking elements of the neck of the inner tube are formed by a plurality in the axial direction of successive ribs integral with the neck, and the outer diameter of the neck of the inner tube including the ribs is at least as large as the clearance diameter of the channels.
