Publication number: 20070101873Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a jam detection and safety system for machines prone to jamming, such as a baler. In particular embodiments, the system is implemented in a horizontal baler having a shear bar and a hydraulic ram that advances material being baled past the shear bar into a compression chamber. The system includes a strain gage mounted on the shear bar and a controller that is electrically connected to the strain gage. The controller receives strain signals from the stage gage and compares the strain of the shear bar to a predetermined strain threshold corresponding to a jamming condition. If the strain exceeds the predetermined threshold, the controller automatically deactivates the ram, such as by disconnecting line power from the baler and/or by turning off the control power of the baler.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2006Publication date: May 10, 2007Inventors: John Etherton, John Powers, Eugene McKenzie, Kenneth Means, Brad Newbraugh

Publication number: 20070101890Abstract: The invention consists of initial part (2B), which at the lower side is made in pyramid form and is part of mine activating mechanism (1). At its screwing into mine body (3), ampoule (D2) containing the aggressive matter is broken by the sharp point, the matter spills and comes to initial part (2B) that gets immersed in it. The aggressive matter slowly corrodes the walls of initial part (2B) and, when it corrodes them through, it mixes with the initial explosive placed inside initial part (2B), soaks it and neutralizes it, in such a way the initial explosive looses its explosive properties, and the mine cannot be activated any more. Cylindrical housing (D) serves for placing ampoule (D2) and retaining the aggressive liquid after breaking ampoule (D2).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2004Publication date: May 10, 2007Inventor: Boris Pervan

Supporting leg section (110; 40) is attached to a predetermined position of the main frame to support the main frame in a substantially horizontal orientation at a predetermined height. The main frame and supporting leg section are provided as separate component parts. Sewing machine frame is constructed by attaching the supporting leg section to the main frame. Because the main frame is constructed of the upper and lower support members integrally joined via the joint member, the main frame and the supporting leg section can be transported to a predetermined assembling place before the supporting leg section is attached to the main frame. Thus, the main frame and the supporting leg section can be transported efficiently at low cost.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2004Publication date: May 10, 2007Applicant: Tokai Kogyo Mishin Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Ikuo Tajima

Publication number: 20070101916Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-needle sewing machine capable of preventing twisting (twining) associated with the oversupply state of a second thread element owing to abrupt lowering of a thread take-up arm even when the vertical reciprocation speeds of the needle bar and the thread take-up arm are increased to raise the efficiency of sewing. In the thread passage of a machine unit, at least on the depth side of the position of the through hole of the thread take-up arm located at the bottom dead center, a recess is formed so that the second thread element 43a that is pulled using the through hole of the thread take-up arm, is lowered abruptly and is in an oversupply state can be deflected therein, a beaten thread receiving face 53a is provided therein, and jump preventing faces 54a are provided on both sides of the receiving face to make the beaten portion 43a of the second thread element come into contact therewith and to prevent the second thread element from jumping.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2006Publication date: May 10, 2007Applicant: Kabushikikaisha BarudanInventor: Kiyoyuki Ishihara

Publication number: 20070101917Abstract: An embroidery module (1) is provided that is attached (docked) to the base plate (29) of a sewing machine (27) and supplied with power and control commands from the machine electronics. A free space (33), which permits the insertion of tubular work pieces around the free arm (31), is created between the embroidery module (1) and a front end of the free arm (31). The embroidery module (1), with or without an embroidery hoop support (13), can remain docked for all sewing, embroidery, and quilting work on the sewing machine (27).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2006Publication date: May 10, 2007Applicant: FRITZ GEGAUF AGInventors: Michael Konig, Andre Stucki, Markus Muller

Publication number: 20070101918Abstract: A method of generating embroidery data for controlling stitching out by an embroidery machine. The method comprises simulating a position of a needle on an embroidery workspace and updating the needle position in response to an input control signal. A series of stitch time points is generated and embroidery data defining a stitch is generated. The data defining a stitch being dependent upon the needle position at a corresponding stitch time point and at a preceding stitch time point.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2006Publication date: May 10, 2007Applicant: VSM Group ABInventors: Andrew Kaymer, Andrew Wyatt, Martin Tatar

Publication number: 20070101919Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for steering a ship. The use of a non-circular wheel enables an operator, such as a captain of a ship, to see over the wheel and have increased clearance to pass by the wheel, by the use of a reduced radius along at least a portion of an outer perimeter of the wheel. By maintaining a large radius along at least a portion of the wheel, the operator is still able to apply large amounts of torque to the steering mechanism as needed to steer the ship.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2005Publication date: May 10, 2007Inventor: William Keene

Publication number: 20070101921Abstract: A method for hurricane prevention by cooling the surface of the ocean water in the path of a tropical cyclone. This method is achieved by displacing the warmer surface water with the cooler water below it. The method involves using a surface vessel, such as a ship, in a region of open water to dissipate or weaken tropical cyclones by positioning the surface vessel in a path of travel of a tropical cyclone. The surface vessel is equipped with a redistribution device to collect warm surface water as the surface vessel is propelled through open water, and the warm water is diverted beneath its natural stratification level and replaced with cooler water along the surface of the open water.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2006Publication date: May 10, 2007Inventor: Steven Goldschmidt
