  • Patent number: 7234845
Abstract: A reflector used in an electronic flash device that collectively emits direct light emitted from a light source and reflected light that has been reflected by a reflective surface onto a subject, and an electronic flash device that uses such reflector. The reflector includes a pair of first reflective surfaces that are composed of portions of a cylindrical curved surface and face one another, and a second reflective surface that is contiguous with the pair of first reflective surfaces and inside which a xenon lamp is housed. Contiguous portions where the pair of first reflective surfaces and the second reflective surface are contiguous are set closer to the opening of the pair of first reflective surfaces than a center of the xenon lamp. With this construction, by it is possible to maintain a predetermined optical performance while making the electronic flash device smaller and slimmer.

  • Patent number: 7234846
Abstract: An embedded lamp comprises a base, an embedded bracket, a lamp socket, and a decorative plate, wherein a flange is formed on the internal periphery of a rotatable bracket of the embedded bracket for coupling with the decorative plate. A protrudent ring having at least a pair of buckling means having a pair of protrudent elastic buckles is mounted on the internal periphery of the decorative plate. When the decorative plate is inserted into the rotatable bracket, the protrudent elastic buckles are bounded to buckle the flange and to be positioned thereon. By means of the above-mentioned structure, the decorative plates with different internal diameter dimensions can be replaced with one another according to the diameter dimensions of various light bulbs without detaching the base and the embedded bracket. Accordingly, it facilitates the replacement of the light bulbs without need of high maintenance technique.

  • Patent number: 7234854
Abstract: An illuminating device is provided for use as a backlight of a liquid crystal display, and has a plurality of light sources and a light guiding plate emitting lights from the light sources outward. At least one of the light sources is configured to be lighted independently from the rest of the light sources. This illuminating device is applied to equipment such as a two surface display type cellular phone and is disposed between a main panel and a sub-panel to illuminate both panels. All light sources may be used to illuminate the main panel when the main panel is used, and some of the light sources may be used to illuminate only an area of the sub-panel when the sub-panel is used so that effective illumination may be implemented. Accordingly, light sources need not to be unnecessarily lighted when the sub-panel is used, which leads to low power consumption.

  • Patent number: 7234855
Abstract: A lamp having a planar light-emitting source includes a light-guiding structure, a light-emitting portion, and a shading supporting seat. The point-shaped lighting units of the light-emitting portion emit the point-shaped light beams toward the side plane of the light-guiding structure. Then, these beams enter the light-guiding structure. After turning approximately 90 degrees, a uniformly distributed planar light generated from the light-emitting plane of the light-guiding structure. So, a planar light source is obtained. In this invention, it has a planar light-emitting function with better lighting efficiency. The planar lighting is evenly distributed without shadow. Its energy consumption and heat generation are low. The product's life is prolonged. Its volume is small and it is portable.

  • Patent number: 7234856
Abstract: An electrical connector for connecting multiple light emitting diodes (LEDs) in parallel to a two-wire electrical supply bus, made up of upper and lower halves that snap together and contact pins that pass through holes in the upper half to make insulation displacement connections with the conductors of the supply bus. Assemblies including large numbers of LEDs are made by snapping connectors onto the bus, inserting contacts into the connectors, and connecting LEDs to the contact pins, although not necessarily in that order. The contact pins may be hollow to receive the LED leads. Also, the positions of the holes in the upper halves of the connectors, and therefore of the contact pins, may be staggered, so that the spacing between the contacts can be made equal to the pitch between the leads of the LEDs without spacing the conductors of the supply bus further apart.

In this case, the at least one interacting part is arranged, with respect to the plugging direction, in the lateral region between the two optical waveguides or extends along this lateral region. This leads to a particularly compact connector structure.

Abstract: A pluggable electro-optical module is mounted completely within the housing of a host device, e.g. testing equipment, to protect the module from external forces, such as ESD, dust and impacts. Furthermore, an equipment manufacturer can use any form of electro-optical module with any type of optical connector receptor, and adapt the electro-optic module into their optical equipment by using an adaptor cable and an optical connector adaptor, which optically couples the module to their end customer's network regardless of the optical connector on the module or the network cable.

Abstract: A molding die 1 is constituted by an upper die 1a and a lower die 1b which are made of a material transparent to an ultraviolet light, and has a cavity 3 constituted by grooves 2c, 2d, whereas a resin injection gate 4 and a resin exit gate 7 are provided so as to communicate with the cavity 3. A junction of an optical fiber 10 is inserted into the cavity 3. A UV-curable resin is injected into the cavity 3 surrounding an exposing portion of the glass optical fiber 11 from the resin injection gate 4 positioned at one of coating ends of the optical fiber 10, whereas a part thereof is discharged from the resin exit gate 7 positioned at the other coating end. The ultraviolet light is emitted through the lower die 1b so as to cure the resin, thereby forming a reinforcement resin coating. As a consequence, bubbles can be prevented from occurring due to the residual air within the reinforcement resin coating in the junction of the optical fiber 10.
