The cap includes a plurality of fingers located about a periphery thereof. The fingers engage the cup member to secure the cap to the cup member. The fingers operate to facilitate insertion of the cap into the cup member using a one-way lock-type arrangement. Accordingly, pushing the cap downward into the open end of the cup member causes the fingers to deflect upward and slide along an interior surface of the cup member. Upward movement of the cap is limited by the fingers engaging the interior surface, which hold the cap member in place. Accordingly, the cap can be inserted into and locks in the cup member at any position.

Abstract: A multi-stage refrigerant driven turbine is incorporated into a closed loop system to generate electricity. Heat transfer conduits and optional flow diverting members are disposed between the rotor blades of each stage of the turbine. The closed loop system also includes a condenser, pump, refrigerant storage container, refrigerant, and expansion valve. A heat source and heat sink are also provided. The expansion valve introduces a saturated refrigerant mist into the turbine, and the refrigerant expands as it flashes to a gas, thereby rotating the rotor blades and turbine shaft. Heat from the heat source is added between stages to increase the portion of refrigerant converted to gas. The gas is passed from the turbine, condensed, and passed as a liquid to storage or to repeat the cycle. The blending of refrigeration cycle and turbine technologies allows electricity to be generated in a closed loop system under moderate conditions.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a novel use of the FGD byproduct from thermal power plants and facilities and the specific method for alkali soil amelioration. In this method, after sampling, amount of Na2CO3, NaHCO3, Mg(HCO3)2,±)Na and ±)Mg can be calculated by analysis. According to the component in FGD byproduct from thermal power plants and facilities, the amount for FGD byproduct from thermal power plants and facilities needed in the alkali soil to be ameliorated can be determined. The FGD byproduct from thermal power plants and facilities are scattered on the surface according to the alkalization degree. After irrigating, the soil is operated just like common land. This invention allows the FGD byproduct from thermal power plants and facilities to be utilized effectively and economically, changing from it from waste to a useful substance. Moreover, it provides a method for alkali soil amelioration, which is fast, efficient, consumes less water, is cost effective, and promising.

Abstract: A process for producing a seamless steel pipe, in which the occurrence of inner surface flaws in the pipe can be reduced through the lowering of the friction coefficient during the elongation rolling by means of a mandrel mill is provided. The reduction of inner surface flaws is accomplished through the use of a lubricant composed mainly of either or both of graphite and mica coated to the surface of a mandrel bar, and another lubricant composed mainly of an alkali metal borate that is applied onto the inner surface of the hollow stock pipe. The temperature of the pipe prior to receiving the lubricant, during lubricant application, and prior to elongation rolling is controlled. The time between descaling or piercing and lubricant application and between lubricant application and elongation rolling is also controlled.

Abstract: A method for simultaneously producing at least two workpieces, separated from one another, by internal high pressure forming. A blank is inserted into a forming tool with at least two negative molds for each of the workpieces. There is at least one parting gap between each of the at least two respective negative molds and extending around each workpiece in the circumferential direction. Each parting gap defines two spaced-apart cutting edges. When the blank is acted upon by internal high pressure it comes into full contact with the forming tool inner wall. An especially simple construction is obtained for the forming tool if the cutting edges are exposed during the forming and if the blank, in the region of the at least one parting gap, penetrates into the latter during the forming, such that the cutting edges cut out a section between two respective workpieces.

One example method uses a press including a first rod, a first ram surrounding the first rod, a die plate having a die cavity, a second rod opposite the first rod, and a second ram surrounding the second rod wherein the first rod and the second rod are dimensioned to fit within the inside diameter of the part. In the method, the part is positioned within the die cavity, one of the first rod and the second rod is located as a core rod within the inside diameter of the part, and at least one of the first ram and the second ram is moved toward the other of the first ram and the second ram such that both the first ram and the second ram contact and coin or forge the wall of the part.

Abstract: A die through hole has an inside surface including a bell portion, an approach portion, and a bearing portion from the entrance side. The diameter of the approach portion is D1 on its entrance side and D2 on its exit side and gradually decreases from the entrance side to the exit side. The diameter satisfies Equation (1): 0.7<D2/D1<0.97. The die half angle of an inside surface where the diameter D3 is D2/0.97 is not less than the die half angle R2 of an inside surface nearer to the approach portion exit side than the inside surface where the diameter is D3. The axial distance LR from the inside surface where the diameter is D3 to the inside surface where the diameter is D2 satisfies Equation (2): 20?LR/((D3?D2)/2)?115. The through hole diameter at the bearing portion is fixed at D2, and the length is LB and satisfies Equation (3): 0.3?LB/D2?10.

The punch includes an end portion adapted to pierce an entry hole and bend material around the entry hole to form a retained slug along an inner edge of the entry hole. The punch also includes an enlarging portion adapted to enter the entry hole after the end portion to enlarge the entry hole by bending the slug and additional material towards the interior of the part. The punch has a length greater than a cross-section of the part such that further advancement of the punch through the part punches an exit hole in the part opposite the entry hole.

Abstract: Continuous engine monitoring with regard to gas turbine engines is difficult particularly when the engine is utilised for propulsion of an aircraft. Nevertheless, by use of transfer passages 4 to an arrangement located within the tail cone 9 of an engine, it is possible through a transparent test cell 6 and appropriate heating to generate sufficient infra red radiation as well as incandescent visible light for detectors 11, 16 to determine various constituent parts of the gas flow. Thus a photo detector 11 can provide through electrical signals, the proportion of soot/smoke particles in the gas flow through their incandescence, whilst use of filters 17 for particular spectral lines in an infra red radiation spectrum will allow detectors 16 to provide an indication through an electrical signal the proportion and presence of other constituents such as NO, CO and unburnt hydrocarbons in an exhaust gas flow.
