  • Patent number: 7244055
Abstract: An illumination device for single-track motor vehicles that emits bundled light in the form of a light beam bundle, that in a first propagation direction (A) is aimed at the roadway area located in front of the motor vehicle. The illumination device (SCH) comprises a light module (LIM) that emits light in a second propagation direction (B) and where at least one optical reflection device (SPI) is arranged in the beam path of the light. Light emitted by the light module (LIM), first of all, will hit the optical reflection device (SPI) and then will be deflected by the latter into the first propagation direction (A). At least one optical reflection device (SPI) can be swung around at least one swing axis. According to the invention, at least one swing axis (SA1) lies essentially in a plane that extends parallel to the longitudinal vehicle midplane (FLE) or that is the longitudinal vehicle midplane (FLE).

  • Patent number: 7244056
Abstract: A vehicle lamp can include a light source and a reflector whose first focal position lies in the vicinity of the light source, the reflector preferably includes a concave spheroidal surface that reflects light from the light source frontward. A projection lens can be disposed so that its focal point lies in the vicinity of a second focal position of the reflector in front of the light source, the projection lens including an aspherical convex lens that focuses light from the reflector and that irradiates the light frontward. A shutter can be disposed in the vicinity of the second focal position of the reflector, the shutter forming a cutoff for low light distribution. The shutter can be thickly formed so that it is positioned in front of the focal position of the projection lens, and the shutter can be slanted at an end edge that forms the cutoff so that the shutter becomes lower towards the projection lens in relation to the optical axis direction.

  • Patent number: 7244057
Abstract: Optical axes are simultaneously adjusted by tiltably mounting a plurality of lighting device units on a common unit support member. A rectilinear propagation blocking member of each lighting device unit is fixed with screw via the elastic bush to the unit support member, so that the optical axis can be adjusted. Due to the above structure, even when the accuracy of shapes of the rectilinear propagation blocking member and the unit support member are not sufficiently ensured and also even when the accuracy of the attaching work can not be sufficiently ensured, the optical axes of the lighting device units can be arranged in order by adjusting the optical axis of the rectilinear propagation blocking member.

  • Patent number: 7244061
Abstract: A marinating machine rotates a drum containing the food to be marinated. The drum is positioned on a pair of rotatable shafts only one of which is drivingly engaged to a motor rotating the drum. The pair of shafts is spaced far enough apart from each other such that the vector of force applied by the wall of the drum against the drive wheel is sufficient to ensure that the drum will rotate with the drive wheel. Within the drum is a pair of spaced apart paddles to agitate the food product being marinated. The two paddles are joined to each other by a compressible member, and the compressible member is compressed to allow insertion of the paddles into the drum. The compressible member applies sufficient force against the inner surface of the drum to cause the paddle assembly to rotate with the drum.

  • Patent number: 7244069
Abstract: A small Faraday rotator is placed in the inner space of a receptacle and a holder. Because the plane of polarization is rotated, even when backreflection light returns to a laser diode, the lasing state does not become unstable. Being placed in the inner space and fixed there, the Faraday rotator can be small and therefore does not increase the part cost notably. The assembly cost does not increase, because it is not required to tightly press-fit a member into a narrow hole.

  • Patent number: 7244077
Abstract: An auger/cut off assembly for a floating screed asphalt paver. The auger/cut off assembly consists of an auger mechanism with an axis of rotation and a cut off mechanism. The cut off mechanism has a concave cut off panel that rotates about the axis of the auger mechanism from an open strike off position to a closed cut off position. Because the concave cut off panel closely conforms to a portion of the circumference of the auger mechanism, the cut off mechanism provides for low ground clearance. The concave cut off panel serves the dual function of striking off the paving material when in the open strike off position and cutting off the deposit of paving material when in the closed cut off position.

  • Patent number: 7244079
Abstract: A retaining wall system is comprised of a plurality of courses of side-by-side parallelogram front face patterns, each parallelogram front face pattern formed by first and second rows of a plurality of quadrilateral face patterns. The first and second rows of the plurality of quadrilateral face patterns have the same width and collectively define a height of the parallelogram front face pattern, with each of the parallelogram front face patterns having the same height. The quadrilateral face patterns in the first row have a width different than that of the quadrilateral face patterns in the second row. Each parallelogram front face pattern in a first course overlies two parallelogram front face patterns in an immediately adjacent course. The combination of off-sets of the quadrilateral face patterns in each parallelogram front face pattern and overlapping of parallelogram face patterns in adjacent courses creates a retaining wall having a non-uniform appearance of a natural stone wall.

  • Patent number: 7244082
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for machining thin sheets and thin-walled, single or two-fold curved, three-dimensionally shaped sheets, plates, or shells, in particular, by material-removing machining methods, such as milling and drilling. In the method, a vacuum, surface tension is produced, which is large enough to fix the position of the workpiece, by using a vacuum over a layer acting as a distributor or a diffuser on the surface of the workpiece to be machined. The distributor or diffuser is made up of a thin-walled, completely or partially air-permeable, heat-reactive layer. The workpiece is then machined, and a cutting speed and rate of feed is adjusted, such that a defined local heating takes place in a contact area between the tool and workpiece. The peak temperature at the contact area is greater or the same as a melting temperature of the surface of the distributor or diffuser.

  • Patent number: 7244089
Abstract: A machine which travels on railroad rails includes a conveyor belt which transports metallic objects from a railway bed into a hopper. The conveyor belt revolves around a pair of rollers mounted on the framework of a conveyor belt assembly. One roller magnetically picks up the metallic objects and a hydraulic motor powers the other roller to drive the conveyor belt. The magnetized roller is mounted via two mounting bearings which slidably engage the assembly. An adjustment bolt on the assembly engages the mounting bearing to move the magnetized roller to adjust conveyor belt tension to facilitate replacement of the belt. A lift beside the assembly raises and lowers one end of the assembly which rotates about a pivot tube within the conveyor belt. The lift, pivot tube and hydraulic lines connected to the motor are all situated to allow the belt to be removed without interference therefrom.

  • Patent number: 7244093
Abstract: An object handling apparatus capable of securely holding an object and precisely transferring the held object from a first place to a second place without need of a specific jig for positioning the object on a pallet. A position of an object supplied to the first place is detected by a first visual sensor to obtain a compensation amount for compensating a position displacement of the supplied object. The object is held by a robot hand having position/orientation compensated using the compensation amount and position/orientation of the object held by the robot hand relative to the robot hand is detected by a second visual sensor. A displacement of the position/orientation of the object held by the robot hand from a reference position/orientation is compensated based on the detected position/orientation of the object on the robot hand, so that the object held by the robot hand is precisely moved to have a predetermined position/orientation to be transferred to the second place.

Abstract: Round honeycomb rotor for wind generators and most propellers has bent tubular trapezoids, two or more concentric tubular cylinders and a variable number of round bent tubular trapezoids. Both cylinders and trapezoids form modular trapezoidal tubes, which have large wind contact surfaces. The concentric tubular cylinders of the round panel have bent pieces fitted in between them whose function is to minimise wind exit and multiply wind contact surfaces in wind generators. As for propeller rotors the number of round bent tubular trapezoids gets multiplied as well as its wind contact surfaces, which results in the optimum use of most centrifugal propelling forces thanks to the reduction of wind entrance and the amplification of wind exit.
