  • Patent number: 7251858
Abstract: A floor care apparatus has a nozzle assembly housing an agitator. A motor couples to the agitator to drive it at two or more speeds and constant suction power. A user indicates their mode-of-operation preference by positioning a switch. An agitator motor control circuit, responsive to the switch, effectuates motor control by supplying either a fixed duty cycle signal or a substantially constant voltage signal. The fixed duty cycle signal includes a waveform with a substantially constant voltage value that is on for a first or first and second of four quarters of the waveform period. Thereafter, it repeats for additional periods. The switch preferably embodies a resistor network and a fixed current source that creates a voltage input to an A/D converter that falls within a specified range. Other apparatus embodiments contemplate multiple agitators with one or more agitator motors. A suction fan motor, separate from the agitator motor(s), may also exist.

  • Patent number: 7251863
Abstract: A draw frame for textile fiber slivers has a drawing system of successively arranged assemblies of rollers comprising a bottom and a top roller, in which, during operation, the top rollers are pressed against the bottom rollers by weighted pressing devices. When operation is suspended, the bearings of the top rollers are relieved of the weighting by the pressing devices. On interruption to continuous operation the top output roller or the top output rollers is/are capable of being relieved of loading in such a way that no or only slight pressure is exerted on the fiber slivers. To avoid or reduce undesirable formation of windings in a simple manner, resiliently loaded elements that lift the top roller bearings after the pressing devices have been relieved of loading are associated with the bearings of at least one top roller.

  • Patent number: 7251866
Abstract: An end stop which does not induce separation or deterioration in its mounting portion by fusing part thereof. A linear fastener element row formed of synthetic resin is mounted on a side edge of a fastener tape, and a rod-like body of synthetic resin is inserted into the interior of plural fastener elements located at a final end of the element row. A fused portion is proved by welding only a side of an outer end portion of the rod-like body while a non-fused portion is formed without welding a side of an inner end portion, so the end stop as a top or bottom end stop is produced. The non-fused portion absorbs an impact when a slider collides with the end stop and induces no deterioration in sewing yarn and such. The fused portion integrates the end stop with fastener elements firmly, so a rigid structured end stop is completed.

  • Patent number: 7251900
Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods to control a plurality of gyroscopes utilizing intermediate frequencies are disclosed. The gyroscopes are configured to operate at the same pre-determined intermediate frequency. To accomplish this, the natural frequency of each gyroscope is determined, and a reference signal is added to the output signal of its respective gyroscope such that the sum of the natural frequency and the reference signal frequency equals the pre-determined intermediate frequency. The output signal from each gyroscope is transmitted to a common inertial data processor, and the inertial data processor outputs a directional signal. The directional signal includes a representation of angles from an X-axis, a Y-axis, and a Z-axis. Since each signal output by the gyroscopes has the same frequency, the loss of data is decreased and the accuracy of the data increased.
