Abstract: A new and distinct peach variety of Prunus persica named ‘NJ353’ is provided. This variety is distinguished from other peach varieties by its unique combination of showy flowers, fruit that ripen in late-season, attractive fruit with a yellow-orange ground color, freestone fruit with a juicy, melting texture and moderately acidic flavor, and good production of firm fruit that maintain their eating quality following cold storage.

Abstract: An implement for preparing seedbeds and lawns includes a main frame member upon which are mounted scarifying teeth to penetrate the soil and tines which work the soil and prepare the final grade after the soil has been scarified. A subframe is pivotally mounted on the main frame and carries a grading blade ahead of the scarifying teeth when the implement is move in the forward direction. The blade is allowed to float relative to the main frame on the subframe to thereby knock down vegetation, remove rocks and lightly grade the soil. The subframe can be moved relative the main frame to a position lifting the scarifying teeth and the tines off of the ground and allowing the blade to provide a deeper grading of the soil or the subframe may be moved to a position lifting the blade off of the soil so that the sold is contacted only by the scarifying teeth and the tines.

Abstract: At the transmitter side, carrier waves are modulated according to an input signal for producing relevant signal points in a signal space diagram. The input signal is divided into, two, first and second, data streams. The signal points are divided into signal point groups to which data of the first data stream are assigned. Also, data of the second data stream are assigned to the signal points of each signal point group. A difference in the transmission error rate between first and second data streams is developed by shifting the signal points to other positions in the space diagram expressed at least in the polar coordinate system. At the receiver side, the first and/or second data streams can be reconstructed from a received signal. In TV broadcast service, a TV signal is divided by a transmitter into low and high frequency band components which are designated as first and second data streams respectively.

Abstract: A novel impeller for a regenerative turbine fuel pump improves the efficiency of the pump and yet still retains a geometry that allows it to be manufactured by conventional injection molding techniques at a relatively low cost. The impeller comprises a hub, an outer ring and a plurality of innovative V-shaped vanes. The hub defines an aperture into which the shaft of the pump is securable to allow the hub to rotate about a center axis. The outer ring is concentric to the hub. The vanes extend from an outer surface of the hub to an inner surface of the outer ring. Each vane comprises an entrance portion that extends from the outer surface of the hub and an exit portion that extends from the entrance portion to the inner surface of the outer ring. Each vane has a V-shape of a prespecified angle centered relative to a plane normal to the center axis.

Abstract: Use of an association of lactobacilli for preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for treatment of vaginosis and vaginitis. Said bacteria association comprises the Lactobacillus brevis and Lactobacillus salivarius subs. salicinius species, possibly in combination with one or more species selected from Lactobacillus salivarius subs. salivarius, Lactobacillus jensenii, Lactobacillus catenaforme, Lactobacillus minutus and Lactobacillus gasseri. A pharmaceutical composition comprising said association of lactobacilli adapted for treatment of vaginosis and vaginitis. A method of treating vaginosis and vaginitis based on administration of said pharmaceutical composition.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cutting tool insert and its methods of manufacture for machining of steel comprising a cemented carbide body and a coatings. The cemented carbide body includes WC, 5-12 wt-% Co and 3-11 wt-% of cubic carbides of metals Ta and Ti. The amount of Nb is below 0.1 wt-% and the ratio Ta/Ti is 1.0-4.0. The Co-binder phase is highly alloyed with W with a CW-ratio of 0.75-0.95 and, finally, the cemented carbide body has a binder phase enriched and essentially gamma phase free surface zone of a thickness of 5-50 ?m.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a coated cemented carbide insert for turning of steel, like low alloyed steels, carbon steels and tough hardened steels at high cutting speeds. The cemented carbide consists of WC, 2-10 wt. % Co and 4-12 wt. % of cubic carbides of metals from groups 4, 5 or 6 of the periodic table, preferably Ti, Ta and Nb. The Co-binder phase is highly alloyed with W with a CW-ratio of 0.75-0.90. The insert has a binder phase enriched and essentially cubic carbide free surface zone A of a thickness of <20 ?m and along a line C essentially bisecting the edge, in the direction from the edge to the centre of the insert, a binder phase content increases essentially monotonously until it reaches the bulk composition. The binder phase content at the edge is 0.65-0.75 times the binder phase content by volume of the bulk and the depth of the binder phase depletion is 100-300 ?m, preferably 150-250 ?m. The insert is coated with 3-12 ?m columnar TiCN-layer followed by a 2-12 ?m thick Al2O3-layer.

Abstract: To realize etching with a high selection ratio and a high accuracy in fabrication of an LSI, the composition of dissociated species of a reaction gas is accurately controlled when dry-etching a thin film on a semiconductor substrate by causing an inert gas excited to a metastable state in a plasma and a flon gas to interact with each other and selectively obtaining desired dissociated species.

Abstract: A disposable eye patch includes a first sheet member, a second sheet member smaller than the first sheet member, and an adhesive layer applied to one side of the first sheet member. One portion of the adhesive layer bonds the first and second sheet members together, and another portion of the adhesive layer adheres to the tissue surrounding an eye when the eye patch is applied to a patient. A release layer may be provided to cover the exposed portion of the adhesive layer, and may be peeled off prior to the use of the eye patch. The release layer and a plurality of eye patches may be provided in the form of a dispenser roll assembly. In a method of manufacturing the disposable eye patch, the first and second sheet members may both be formed from a sheet material having an adhesive layer, and then the first and second sheet members may be adhered together with the adhesive layer on one of the sheet members contacting the adhesive layer on the other one of the sheet members.

Abstract: A method of treating hemodynamic disfunction by simultaneously pacing both ventricles of a heart. At least one ECG amplifier is arranged to separately detect contraction of each ventricle and a stimulator is then activated for issuing stimulating pulses to both ventricles in a manner to assure simultaneous contraction of both ventricles, thereby to assure hemodynamic efficiency. A first ventricle is stimulated simultaneously with contraction of a second ventricle when the first fails to properly contract. Further, both ventricles are stimulated after lapse of a predetermined A-V escape interval. One of a pair of electrodes, connected in series, in placed through the superior vena cava into the right ventricle and a second is placed in the coronary sinus about the left ventricle. Each electrode performs both pacing and sensing functions. The pacer is particularly suitable for treating bundle branch blocks or slow conduction in a portion of the ventricles.

Abstract: An energy weapon protection device to be worn by a live potential target includes a generally flexible main panel having three main elements, a generally flexible, generally planar electrically non-conductive outer insulator panel, an electrically conductive inner conductive panel and an electrically non-conductive insulating backing panel. The inner conductive panel is mounted on the insulating back panel in generally parallel alignment and the outer insulator panel is mounted on the inner conductive panel in generally parallel alignment thereby forming the main panel, and the main panel is operative to receive an electrical pulse from an energy weapon through the outer insulator panel into the inner conductive panel which completes the electric circuit for the energy weapon and the insulating backing panel generally preventing electric current from passing therethrough from the inner conductive panel such that the live potential target is protected from the electrical pulse generated by the energy weapon.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a welding helmet having a cartridge coupling structure. The welding helmet comprises a helmet body configured to cover and protect the welder's head, an opening being formed at a front surface of the helmet body, a protective cover provided along a periphery thereof with a packing such as rubber, the packing having a protruding wing portion and serving to prevent harmful gas and foreign substances from reaching the inside surface of the protective cover, a cartridge coupled to the opening by interposing the protective cover and adapted to intercept intense light generated upon welding so as to protect the welder's eyes, and coupling elements to detachably couple the cartridge to the helmet body.

Abstract: A hybrid, ventilated garment is provided. Another aspect of the present invention employs a jacket having a body portion with sleeves and a torso, and a removable shell portion having sleeve and torso segments. A further aspect of the present invention provides wind resistant shoulder and sleeve segments which are permanently attached together, and an air permeable and/or perforated lower torso segment attached to at least the shoulder segment.

Abstract: The disclosure is directed to an integrated glove including first and second substrate layers. The first substrate layer overlies the second substrate layer to define a volume therebetween configured to receive a wearer's hand. The integrated glove also includes first and second gas impermeable barrier layers respectively melt laminated to the first and second substrate layers. The first and second gas impermeable barrier layers extend beyond an outer contour of the first and second substrate layers and are melt laminated together to form a seam portion. The integrated glove has a breakthrough time greater than 60 minutes when exposed to NFPA 1991 industrial chemicals.

Abstract: Disclosed are valve assemblies for controlling flow from a toilet bowl to a trap way. In one form there is a cartridge unit in which a pivotable gate is mounted. The gate can swing from a blocking/closing position to a position in which it is essentially hidden away in a recess out of the main flow path. The surface of the gate facing the bowl is inwardly dished to further facilitate flow optimization.

Abstract: Dual purpose lavatory units are disclosed. In one embodiment, a lavatory unit includes a first section, a second section, and a divider wall separating the first and second sections. The first section includes a commode and the second section includes at least one of a urinal and a sink. The dual-purpose lavatory may be constructed as a unit that is mountable in a vehicle such as an aircraft.

Abstract: A collapsible infant travel bed includes four hoops, preferably all the same or similar size. One hoop is placed on the bottom and is connected to two side hoops and one hoop is connected to the tops of the side hoops. The side hoops are preferably covered with a see-through mesh fabric. The short ends at the head and the foot of the bed may be provided with mesh or opaque fabric, but it is preferred that at least the head be see-through mesh. A removable mattress is placed in the bed and one or more side cushions are arranged above the mattress. The bed is easily collapsed by pressing one of the side hoops toward the bottom hoop and then the other side hoop. A carrying case is provided for storing and carrying the collapsed bed.

Abstract: Leaf springs have improved durability in spite of using inexpensive spring steel such as SUP9 and SUP11 as materials. While a spring main body, made of the spring steel in which Brinell hardness is under 555 HBW and not less than 388 HBW (corresponding to a diameter of under 2.70 mm of hardness and not less than 3.10mm of hardness on a Brinell ball mark), is maintained at 150 to 400° C., the load is applied in the direction in which the spring main body is to be used, and the first shotpeening is performed at the plane where the tensile stress acts.
