Abstract: A nose cover or nose protector, for adventurers, sports fans, and people who love outdoor activities, comprises a nose piece formed from sheets of paper, plastic, fabric, foam, laminated materials, pressure heat cut and seal materials, and/or die-cut materials to fit and cover the nose. Additional materials of adhesive pieces and soft metal sheets are used to fold and contour the nose cover onto the wearer's nose. A corresponding “hook and loop” strap or “hook” patch is used to connect the nose cover to the bridge of eyewear. This nose cover can also consist of heat packs, cold packs, and/or medicated packs to comfort the user. The nose cover can be used with or without eyewear, and with variety of optional accessories.

Abstract: A catcher's leg protector having an adjustable foot and toe guard includes a shin guard for covering a wearer's shin, a foot and toe guard for covering a portion of a wearer's foot, and an adjustment mechanism for moving the foot and toe guard relative to the shin guard and locking the foot and toe guard in a fixed position. Various embodiments of the leg protector and associated method are provided.

Abstract: Clothing includes an exterior shell which contains an inset portion that substantially extends from a front half of a neck opening. The exterior fabric shell more easily passes moisture and quickly dries. Arranged in directly contact with an inner surface of the exterior shell is a second layer of absorbent material that is denser than the outermost layer. In one arrangement, the article of clothing includes an inner layer of material that is the same as the exterior shell. In another embodiment, a third layer of material is disposed against an inner surface of the second layer and includes water resistant properties that reduce or prevent moisture from passing from the second layer to the skin of the wearer. In an additional embodiment, an innermost layer, of preferably the same material as the exterior shell, is in contact with the third layer and is worn against the wearer's skin.

Abstract: According to one embodiment of the present invention, a bib includes at least one removable top layer of absorbent material and a base layer of durable material. The base layer has a fastening mechanism for placing the bib around the neck of a user. The base layer further has a mounting mechanism, which is different from the fastening mechanism, for attaching the removable top layer to the base layer.

Abstract: The invention is a concealed carry holster for handguns. The holster comprises a pair of shorts comprising a lightweight material such as spandex and having a waist opening and two leg openings. The shorts comprise a waistband around the waist opening. A drawstring may be provided in the waistband for providing additional support in securing the holster and firearm to the body of the wearer. Non-slip material may be provided around each leg opening. This non-slip material may include elastic material. A holster piece attaches to the exterior of the shorts in the crotch region. In one embodiment, the holster piece is formed in the shape of an uppercase “A.” In this embodiment, a lower region of the holster piece is sewn into the shorts using industrial strength stitching. A fastening means such as Velcro®, secures the upper region of the holster piece to the shorts.

The invention also relates to an inductive interface for an article of clothing, which can inductively transmit an electric current and/or data between the interior and the exterior of an article of clothing, with which the interface is used. In addition, the invention relates to the use of an interface of this type for sending an electric current and/or data signals through a textile layer of an article of clothing.

Abstract: Training pants for a human male having a front portion and a rear portion, the portions forming a single body, the front and rear portions having front edges, the edges defining an opening between the front and rear portions. The training pants also having a breach cover associated with the front portion and disposed over the opening, the breach cover being capable of releasable engagement with the front portion to cover the opening when properly disposed. When the training pants are worn correctly by a male, the breach cover may be disengaged from the pants to expose the opening and allow the male to urinate without soiling the pants, and the breach cover may be reengaged with the pants over the opening upon completion of urination.

Abstract: This invention a “martial arts sparring vest” features a single unit design to be utilized by participants during martial arts sparring contests. The multi-colored fabrics of white, red and blue visually enhance the scoring and non-scoring regions and thereby increase the visibility of these areas for participants, judges and referees. The vest features a front loading vertical zipper and protective flap making it very easy for participants of all ages to put on and take off the vest. The 5-ply construction and inserts are constructed of lightweight fabric and padding enhancing the level of comfort for the participant. Customized sizing with strategic contouring on the front, side and back portions of the vest allow for enhanced freedom of movement during the execution of martial arts technique. The single cut patterning of the inside, middle and outside layers simplifies manufacturing, construction and customization.

Abstract: Clothing for children includes a fastener located in the back of the clothing. The fastener, such as a zipper, extends from a position near the leg of the child wearing the clothing to a position near the neck of a child wearing the clothing such that the fastener extends across substantially the entire length of the back of the child wearing the clothing. The configuration of the fastener in the clothing in this way prevents the child from being able to remove the clothing without help from an adult or other person.

Additional convenient adjustment possibilities for the back-of-the-head band and the head band are also implemented.

Abstract: A batting helmet with an adjustable face guard includes a rigid shell for protecting the head of a wearer, with an adjustable face guard movably attached to the shell. An adjustment mechanism regulates the movement of the face guard between upper and lower limits to vary a wearer's line-of-sight through the face guard.

Abstract: The invention relates to an integral helmet comprising a shock resistant helmet shell (1) which covers the top part of the head to the neck and the ear area of a user, defines a visor opening (3) at lower and top edges and is complimented by the chin area defining the lower side of the visor opening in such a way that a slip opening (19) which totally encompasses the neck of the helmet user is formed, wherein the chin area is connected to the helmet shell (1) which upwardly pivots around a horizontal axis of rotation for enlarging the slip opening (19). The aim of said invention is to develop a light identically safe helmet. For this purpose, the chin area comprises a chin element (8) which is connected to a lateral area (4) of the shell (1) in such a way that it is pivotable around a rotatable joint having a substantially horizontal axis in order to increase the slip opening (19).

Abstract: A sports goggle having generally U-shaped attachment arms at opposite sides of a goggle frame for securing the goggle frame to an elastic headband. The attachment arms are secured to the goggle frame at locations inward from the sides of the frame. As a result, the attachment arms bend rearwardly so that they are received in respective recesses in the frame when the goggle is worn without a helmet. When the goggle is worn with a helmet, the attachment arms are bent forwardly. However, since the headband extends from the attachment arms with a rearward component, the headband forces the goggle frame against the face of a wearer without creating gaps between the frame and the face of the wearer.

The device uses a reinforcement bar to strength the spa cover and absorbs any could be damage caused by lifting a corner of the cover. The two elongate flexible members attach the cover to the base frame. The lock loop allows for flexibility in locking solutions. The buckle connects with the lock loop to establish a secure entry point to the spa. The device allows for the use of other spa cover lifting devices and does not interfere with maintenance or servicing.

The fluid conduit has a dimension smaller than a dimension of the discharge pipe. The waste material draining into the first trap drains from the first trap into the discharge pipe.

Abstract: A mobile platform personnel berth unit and a method for creating the mobile platform personnel berth unit are provided. A male mandrel is created defining an inner mold line surface of the berth unit. The male mandrel is overlayed with one or more layers of filament strips. The filament layers are thermally cured to create an integrated structural member. The male mandrel is then removed from the structural member. The structural member is profile shaped to create a semi-finished berth unit having a top, a bottom and a pair of integral side panels. Additional entrance and back panels as well as access panels and connecting hardware are then added to complete the berth unit.

Abstract: An automatic patient transfer system includes a transporting cart, a supporting frame mounted on the transporting cart in vertically movable manner to adjust a height of the supporting frame, and an endless conveyer platform. The supporting frame includes two spaced apart transverse arms and a supporting bed, having a two-side-accessing ability, slidably mounted between the two transverse arms in a horizontal movable manner, such that the supporting bed is selectively and sidewardly slid with respect to the transporting cart to allow the supporting bed selectively sliding at two opposing sideward directions. The endless conveyer platform is slidably mounted at the supporting bed in loop manner, wherein the conveyer platform is adapted for supporting the patient thereon to selectively load and unload the patient on the supporting bed when the conveyer platform is endlessly rotated at clockwise and counter-clockwise directions.

Abstract: A co-sleeper convertibly adapted for use as a changing table, bassinet or play yard is described. The invention includes a first rigid enclosure that has four walls and a floor with the front wall capable of being positioned at an upper level equal to the remaining walls or at a second lower level. The first enclosure is capable of supporting a second enclosure within it that has four walls, a floor and can support a mattress. The co-sleeper is secured at one side of a parental bed with the co-sleeper mattress positioned a short distance below the level of the mattress of the parental bed. The front wall of the invention is placed in the second, lowered position for use as a co-sleeper or changing table and positioned at the upper level when the invention is used as a play yard or bassinet. The front wall has a fixed lower portion and a raisable upper portion.

Abstract: A massage table includes a two piece face cradle with a wide range of adjustment. The face cradle comprises a chin support and a forehead support. The chin and forehead supports are connected by rods which allow an open field-of-view to a patient lying prone on the massage table. The face cradle is connected to the massage table using a ball-joint providing a broad range of adjustability. A diagonal strut connected between the forehead support portion of the face cradle and the massage table and provide stability. The massage table may further have adjustable width by allowing the table to separate along a longitudinal axis and one or more leafs inserted into a gap between table halves.

Abstract: A medical table provides the functionality needed for hip and knee arthroplasty at a cost that is acceptable for smaller patient care centers. Such a table can use a sliding mechanism to maintain traction during positioning of a patient's leg. The table also can utilize a knee arthroplasty attachment to provide for precise knee positioning, such as by using a sliding assembly attached to a spar of the table. The table can include a pair of actuators providing for both lateral tilt and trendelenburg motions, which reduces the complexity from previous tables. The table also can include a removable power/control module, which allows for quick and easy replacement of damaged components.

The cushion includes an inflatable bladder, which has top and bottom walls that are parallel to one another, and a side wall that is pleated such that the top and bottom walls remain generally parallel to one another when inflated. The elongated texture devices provide density and thickness to a top surface of the first flexible planar member. The fastening mechanisms secure the planar members in a folded mode.

The arms may be pivoted to either side of the patient support. The arms may be stored in a console. At least one of the arms may carry service conduits that provide medical air, oxygen, vacuum, nitrogen, nitrous oxide, or electricity.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a non-woven mattress seam tape and a method of making the same. Non-woven material is continuously passed over a slitting apparatus to obtain multiple lengths of mattress seam tapes. These tapes are wound and subsequently used as mattress seam tapes in the manufacture of mattresses. The mattress seam tape is a non-woven product that is made of resins such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester or synthetic nylon.

Abstract: A convective seating and sleeping system with a plenum for use as a mattress, cushion or as part of seat or other structure to deliver air flow to a user or users. The convective cushion includes a modular plenum made of removable pockets and a thermocouple to provide control data to selectively control the temperature and/or quantity of the air delivered to the cushion. The cushion includes the use of tubular spacer material. The cushion has deep styling lateral and longitudinal pleats and air flow structures around the pleats to provide a controlled air flow to the cushion. The invention includes an improved Stirling cycle heat pump with magnetic bearing structures and relative humidity controls and an improved thermoelectric heat pump that selectively controls the relative humidity of the air delivered to the cushion. The cushion can be activated and operated by remote operation from a telecommunications device.

Abstract: An institutional mattress includes a resilient core and a mattress covering sealing the core. The mattress covering is waterproof and has a ticking base fabric made of yams with a denier value of at least 500 and has a thread count of at least 18 threads per inch in both warp and fill. The core may be fire resistant polymeric foam and the ticking base fabric may be 1050 denier “ballistic” nylon having 22 to 23 threads per inch in both warp and fill. The ticking base fabric may be coated with urethane having a flame retardant and an anti-microbial, and laminated with a waterproof and abrasion-resistant polyurethane film. Alternatively, the ticking base fabric may be treated with a flame retardant and also coated and/or laminated with a waterproof material. The mattress covering may be sealed around the core with stitching.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for an electric jack, wherein an electrically powered jack is provided for at least partially raising and lowering an automobile off a ground surface. The apparatus may be utilized in conjunction with a conventional portable car jack, wherein the apparatus comprises a power drill, a rod, and a plurality of jack adapters. Each jack adapter is specifically designed to attach to a particular type of car jack, thus providing an apparatus that may be utilized with an assortment of car jacks.

Such a wrench may have a proof torque of at least the minimum level set forth in ASME B107.8, 2003 revision. Other wrenches are also disclosed.

Abstract: Provided are a method capable of imparting antistaticity to a fabric structure in a simple manner without causing any color change in the fabric structure, a fabric structure imparted with antistaticity by the method, and a washing machine that imparts antistaticity to a fabric structure according to the method. The method for imparting antistaticity to a fabric structure allows metal or metal compound to adhere on a surface of the fabric structure by drying the fabric structure in a state where a liquid containing the metal or the metal compound exists on the surface of the fabric structure.

Abstract: A drum type washing machine has an access hole and a drum door for closing the access hole provided on the cylindrical sidewall of the drum. The enclosure of the washing machine includes an access opening that aligns with the assess hole of the drum. A motor of the washing machine is coupled to both the drum door and the drum itself. Thus, the motor can be used to rotate the drum and the door during washing operations. A clutch unit selectively couples and decouples the motor from the drum so that the drum door can be rotated with respect to the drum to open and close the access hole of the drum.

Abstract: A composition for dyeing keratin fibers that contains 0.1 to 30 percent of at least one substantially pure plant dye material obtained using solvent or supercritical CO2 extraction combined with 0.01 to 5 percent of a metal or mineral salt capable of acting as a mordant as a two part hair color system. The addition of the encapsulation of one or both components allows the use of the plant dye in combination with the metal or mineral salt in a one part hair color system.

Abstract: The present invention relates to hair colouring kits and methods of use thereof which comprise an oxidative component, a colouring component, a conditioner component and a colour refresher component. The kits and methods of use thereof allow for the delivery of the required initial colour and shine to the hair but which further enable the maintenance of the colour over a longer time period without the need for an additional oxidative colouring event.
