The present exhaust gas recirculation system cools a flow of exhaust gas with a common coolant being used to cool an engine prior to mixing the flow of exhaust gas with a flow of intake air. The present exhaust gas recirculation system includes a control system for monitoring an operating parameter of an engine. The control system interprets a signal sensing the operating parameter within a controller and the controller causes an exhaust valve regulator to move between an open position and a closed position. Additionally, a plurality of paths or maps, for example, one being a normal coolant temperature strategy and another being a high coolant temperature strategy is used. In the normal coolant temperature strategy, with the exhaust valve regulator in the open position the supply of fuel to the engine would be advanced.

Abstract: Protective lenses with a flexible gasket assembly has a main lens, at least one peripheral lens, at least one hinge, a main lens gasket and at least one peripheral lens frame. Each hinge bonds to the main lens and one of the at least one peripheral lens to connect the main lens and the peripheral lens and provides a resilient cushion between the main lens and the peripheral lens to keep the lenses from breaking. The main lens gasket and the peripheral lens gasket are able to compensate for inaccuracies in the lenses prevent sharp edges on the lenses from injuring people.

Abstract: A baby changing, cleansing and bathing station with a basin hinged at the rear to pivot away from the wall overtop an existing toilet, a shower wand with adapter for connection to an existing faucet or shower, a front leg assembly for automatically deploying upon pivoting down of the basin, and a fold-down drain for automatically deploying upon pivoting down of the basin to drain water from the basin into said toilet. The automatic legs and drain allow for easy one-hand deployment while carrying a baby. The baby changing, cleansing and bathing station is adaptable to a freestanding configuration with either a cabinet enclosure or rear leg assembly for freestanding support, or a wall-mounted configuration with or without a cabinet enclosure.

Abstract: An accessory device for use by an occupant in a wheelchair includes a platform and a reorientation mechanism that enables the rotation, pivoting, and sliding motion of the platform with respect to the wheelchair. The device is reconfigurable from a first, stowed position in which the platform extends along one side of a first seating surface to a second, deployed position in which the device bridges the first seating surface and a second seating surface. In the stowed position, the device functions as an armrest, while in the deployed position, the device functions as a transfer board. The platform may be slid in and out with respect to the wheelchair.

Abstract: A sick-bed includes a bedstead and a bed frame with an adjustable mattress support. The bed frame can be mounted cardanically on the bedstead for the decubitus prophylaxis and can be precessed by means of a drive unit. The bed frame is cardanically suspended on at least three, preferably four lifting drives, which are separate from each other and continuously height-adjustable. The lifting drives are controllable in such a manner that the central normal of the bed frame running through the center of gravity for the bed frame is allowed to carry out a continuous, damped and slow precession movement. Universal joints connecting the lifting drives to the bed frame can allow limited sliding movement therebetween in longitudinal and/or transverse directions.

Abstract: A dual use hand tool apparatus has a handle portion of a length fully extensive over a palmer portion of a hand firmly gripping the handle portion. The apparatus also has a barrel portion that is integral and contiguous with the handle portion. The handle and barrel portions are mutually positioned to form an obtuse angle of from about 125 and 145 degrees. A cutting blade is at least partially enclosed within the barrel portion and a compression wheel is longitudinally extensive from the handle portion. Pressure applied to the compression wheel causes the cutting blade to retract into the barrel portion.

Abstract: This is a bumper system which protects the area of the dock on a warehouse from unnecessary damage by trailers, forklifts and the like. The devices will be secured to the front of a loading dock and will have a rubber bumper to absorb the shock. The device is hinged to allow rotation for necessary repair and maintenance.

The first connection point and the second connection point are spaced from one another and positioned such that the first inner side of the first section is capable of contacting the second inner side of the second section when the tool is in the closed position.

Abstract: A height adjustment apparatus for a rotatable component of a vacuum cleaner is provided. The apparatus includes a rotatable wheel and a retainer device. The rotatable wheel includes a central axis, a wheel portion, a hub portion including an offset axle aperture that receives a rotatable component, and one or more detent devices. The retainer device is retained in a chassis of the vacuum cleaner and includes a body, a hub portion aperture formed in the body and of a size to rotatably receive the hub portion of the rotatable wheel, and one or more biasing devices that interact with the one or more detent devices in order to provide a plurality of predetermined detent positions. The rotatable component is moved substantially vertically with respect to the central axis when the rotatable wheel is rotated between the plurality of predetermined detent positions.

Abstract: A roller/foot device (1) comprising a cylindrical outer sleeve (10), a guide sleeve (20) arranged inside the outer sleeve (10), locking sleeve (30) arranged inside the outer sleeve (10), a spring device where one end abuts against the outer sleeve's closed end (13) and the other end abuts against one end portion of the guide sleeve or the locking sleeve and a roller element (41) which is rotatably mounted abutting against the locking sleeve's (20) end portion which is located at the extreme end of the outer sleeve (10). The sleeves comprise ribs which can slide towards each other and cause the roller element (41) to assume different positions in the longitudinal direction of the outer sleeve (10) when the device (1) is subjected to forces. The device (1) can thereby be employed as a roller device with the roller element (41) in an outer position and as a foot device with the roller element (41) in an inner position.

Abstract: Various aspects of the invention provide handles that can be attached to wire-like members. In one exemplary embodiment, a handle generally includes a handle portion, a retaining member, and a key member. The handle portion has a channel and an aperture extending from at least one outer surface of the handle portion into the channel. The channel is configured to receive at least a portion of a wire-like member therein. The retaining member is configured to be received within the channel. The retaining member has an aperture. The key member is configured to be engaged within the handle portion's aperture and the retaining member's aperture. Engagement of the key member within the retaining member's aperture can inhibit the egress of the retaining member from the channel to operatively trap at least a portion of a wire-like member within the channel, and, thereby, attach the handle portion to the wire-like member.
