Patent number: 7306437Abstract: A pressure exchanger for transferring pressure energy from a high-pressure fluid stream to low-pressure fluid stream. A ducted rotor is positioned on a central axle between two end covers inside the vessel with a coaxial inlet and outlet pair that is in communication with a pair of low pressure ports having inclination forming an inlet tangential velocity vector in the direction of rotor rotation and an outlet tangential velocity vector in opposite direction imparting a rotational momentum on rotor. A pair of high-pressure ports is adapted for flow without inclination and imparts no momentum to the rotor. The end covers have a sloped surface following a flat sealing area that increases the clearance in the direction of rotation causing increased outflow during depressurization and lower duct pressure. This also causes increased inflow during the pressurization phase which will dissipate pressure energy as opposed to producing cavitation or pressure waves.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2005Date of Patent: December 11, 2007Inventor: Leif Hauge

Patent number: 7306438Abstract: A suction gas guide system (100) for reciprocating compressor (30) comprises a gas guide conduit having both ends installed on a suction pipe (SP) of a shell (10) and on an inner flowing passage of a piston (31) so as to face each other and guiding sucked gas inside the shell (10) to the inner flowing passage of the piston (31), whereby a refrigerant gas is sucked into the gas flowing passage of the piston (31) through the gas guide conduit (100) smoothly. Accordingly, suction rate of the refrigerant gas is increased, moreover, noise and vibration generated during suction of the refrigerant gas are reduced, and therefore flow resistance for the noise and the sucked gas is reduced, whereby the reliability and efficiency of the compressor is increased. Also, the pre-heating of the gas by the motor (20) is prevented, and then increase of the specific volume of the gas is prevented, and thereby the efficiency of the compressor (30) is increased.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2001Date of Patent: December 11, 2007Assignee: LG Electronics Inc.Inventors: Kyung-Seok Kang, Sung-Tae Woo, Seong-Yeol Hyeon

Patent number: 7306439Abstract: A scroll fluid machine includes an orbiting scroll which has an orbiting end plate. The orbiting end plate has a plurality of extensions on the outer circumference. Each of the extensions has a boss in which a self-rotation-preventing eccentric shaft is pivotally supported. The extension has an easily-deformable portion to keep exact positional relationship between the extensions or to the center of the orbiting end plate of the extension.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2005Date of Patent: December 11, 2007Assignee: Anest Iwata CorporationInventors: Atsushi Unami, Tamotsu Fujioka

Patent number: 7306440Abstract: A vane pump includes a casing having a cylindrical inner bore and a rotor disposed in the inner bore with an eccentric relation thereto, forming a circular pump chamber between the rotor and the inner bore. The circular pump chamber is divided by vanes held in the rotor into pump chambers changing their capacities according to rotation of the rotor. A gravity center of the rotor is shifted from the rotational center of the rotor by removing or adding some weight, so that an imbalanced centrifugal force is applied to the rotor. The driving shaft and the rotor are tightly coupled to each other by the imbalanced centrifugal force even if there is a small gap or dimensional errors therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2005Date of Patent: December 11, 2007Assignee: Denso CorporationInventor: Hitoshi Amano

Patent number: 7306441Abstract: High pressure synthesis of various crystals such as diamond, cBN and the like can be carried out using reaction assemblies suitable for use in methods such as temperature gradient methods. The reaction assembly can be oriented substantially perpendicular to gravity during application of high pressure. Orienting the reaction assembly in this manner can avoid detrimental effects of gravity on the molten catalyst, e.g., convection, hence increasing available volumes for growing high quality crystals. Multiple reaction assemblies can be oriented in series or parallel, each reaction assembly having one or more growth cells suitable for growth of high quality crystals. Additionally, various high pressure apparatuses can be used. A split die design allows for particularly effective results and control of temperature and growth conditions for individual crystals.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2004Date of Patent: December 11, 2007Inventor: Chien-Min Sung

Patent number: 7306442Abstract: There is a pneumatic mud stamp including an applicator, a tube-like member, a stopper, a retraction mechanism, ad a pneumatic control. The applicator is configured to apply mud in a pattern and includes a boot and a faceplate with a slot. The tube-like member is coupled to the applicator and includes a first chamber configured to hold mud, a second chamber configured to hold pressurized air, and a decoupling mechanism configured to open the tube-like member for insertion of mud therein. The stopper is slidably disposed within the tube-like member between the first and second chambers. The stopper provides a fluid tight seal therebetween. The retraction mechanism is configured to facilitate moving the stopper away from the applicator. The pneumatic control is configured to selectably dispose pressurized air into the second chamber.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2005Date of Patent: December 11, 2007Inventor: Shirl G. Fox
