  • Patent number: 7318260
Abstract: A novel quick release locking mechanism is disclosed. The locking mechanism is comprised of a male latch member and a female receptacle. The male latch member is comprised of an arbor with a planar handle at its proximal end and a catch apparatus at its distal end. The arbor is further equipped with a slidable annulus that moves between the lower margin of the planar handle and the catch apparatus. The female receptacle is comprised of a housing and a duality of notched resilient arms. Operation of the locking mechanism is achieved by introduction of the male latch member into the female receptacle with sufficient force to urge open the resilient arms which then springably close around the catch means, thus locking the mechanism. The female receptacle is further supplied with appropriate stops to prevent separation forces from inducing upward travel of the resilient arms during use, thus increasing lock strength and durability.

  • Patent number: 7318279
Abstract: A rolled steel plate 1 wound in a roll shape is unrolled and is cut in given dimensions to form a blank 2. In this case, a cut surface 2a is caused to incline at 1 to 3 degrees relative to the thickness direction of the blank 2, wherein the inclination direction of the cut surfaces 2a, 2a on each side is reversed. The blank 2 cut in this manner is roll-formed to cause the cut surfaces 2a, 2a to confront each other. Since the cut surfaces 2a, 2a on each side incline at 1 to 3 degrees in the opposite direction as described above, the cut surfaces 2a, 2a are caused to be parallel. Then, the confronting sections are laser-welded to form a cylindrical body 3.

Abstract: The invention is a fishing pole with an integrated line tension measuring device. Measured line tension is displayed in quantitative units, pounds or kilograms. A line tension warning system activates when the sensed line tension exceeds a threshold set by the fisherman. The line tension measuring device does not touch the fishing line so the fishing pole with integrated line tension measuring device fishes and operates like a normal fishing pole. The line tension measuring device may be integrated into the fishing reel seat which, in turn, is an integral part of the fishing pole.

Abstract: Kits for building log structures, and methods for producing such kits. A kit for building a structure having a plurality of log walls each including multiple layers. The kit comprises a combination of logs which when assembled form the structure. Logs of multiple layers are marked for long groove cuts and for final corner notch cuts. These marked logs substantially retain the natural contour of the tree boles from which they came. In other embodiments, final corner notches have been cut in logs of multiple layers and long groove cuts are marked but uncut. In still other embodiments, long grooves have been cut in logs of multiple layers and final corner cuts are marked but uncut. Certain embodiments provide kits wherein logs of multiple layers each have cut therein at least one final corner notch or long groove, with the remaining cut(s) marked but uncut.

Abstract: A modularized jail cell having front and rear panels, two side panels connecting the front and rear panels, and a roof panel connecting the front rear and side panels. Each cell includes vertical support members oriented to provide both vertical and lateral support for each panel, and the roof panel is also adapted to serve as a floor for a second modularized jail cell positioned above the first or lower modularized jail cell. One or more cells may be connected horizontally and a system of cells may be constructed by attaching cells laterally and vertically to create a jail cell complex. Inter-connecting structures are present at the juncture of each panel to facilitate connection with an adjacently positioned cell. Front interlock plates and rear cover plates secure each laterally positioned cell together.

The packing machine includes a transport device for the packing pieces, at least one unspooling device for unspooling the packing film wound on a roller, a film welding and cutting unit, and a film buffer arranged between the film welding and cutting unit and the unspooling device. The film support is formed of a flexible, anti-static material which ensures particularly easy pulling off of the packing film from the film buffer. The film support inhibits or prevents the plastic film from incurring a static charge, thereby reducing or eliminating adhesion forces would have to be overcome as a result of electrostatic charges when pulling the plastic film off of the film buffer.
