Abstract: The present invention relates to a control system for a rock crusher which is adapted for use with Vertical Shaft Impact rock crusher which divides the rock it processes into a stream which is supplied to a central rotor and a stream which cascades past the rotor. The control system is used to control the ratio of material placed into the cascade and includes a processing means which is adapted to receive a throughput signal from at least one throughput sensor. The processing means is adapted to transmit at least one control signal to at least one control mechanism of the crasher, and at least one control signal or signals are transmitted to said control mechanism or mechanisms to adjust the amount of material entering the crusher rotor to provide a specific cascade ratio for the crusher in response to a variable throughput of material.

Abstract: Truck for shredding and mixing products for zootechnical use having, on a chassis with wheels that is self-propelled or towed, a container that is substantially shaped like an inverted frustum, is open in an upper region and contains shredding and mixing elements which have at least two adjacent rotating screw feeders with substantially vertical axes arranged at staggered levels on corresponding staggered bottom regions of the container, each screw feeder having an external profile that lies on a substantially conical imaginary surface and at which shredding cutters are mounted, contrast cutters substantially shaped like circular sectors being hinged to the internal wall of the container by their respective vertices in a vertical arrangement in substantially radial positions and being insertable and removable trough appropriately provided slots.

Abstract: Slag crusher having a shaft extending through a pressure housing which shaft is provided with inlet baffle plates in a funnel-shaped arrangement, stationary cutting knives and cutting knives rotating on the shaft. The shaft is offset with respect to the vertical center line of the pressure housing, so that the crushing area is concentrated in the middle of the slag crusher. The rotating cutting knives are angularly offset on the periphery of the shaft, so that only one rotating knife and two stationary knives are in engagement at a time.

Abstract: The invention relates to a refining surface in a refiner for defibering material containing lignocellulose, which refiner has two coaxially rotating refining surfaces. The material being defibered is fed between the refining surfaces that both have grooves and bars. According to the invention, at least some of the refining surfaces have on their outer surface a bevel that becomes lower starting from the incoming direction of the bars of the other refining surface so that when the refining surfaces rotate relative to each other, a force that pushes the refining surfaces away from each other is created between them.

Abstract: In a recording tape cartridge, a compression coil spring urges a reel downward via a brake member. Due to the biasing force of the spring, a gear of the brake member securely meshes with a gear inside a reel hub preventing the reel's inadvertent rotation. The biasing force urges lock members outward in a radial direction from the center of a mount or the reel. Engagement portions of the lock members engage with an upper edge of the hub. The outer side surfaces of the engagement portions press against the inner peripheral surface of the hub, and ends of the engagement portions at a further outer side than the body portions intervene between the upper surface of an upper flange and the inner surface of a top plate to prevent rotation of the reel and to control movement of the reel in either a radial or an axial direction.

Abstract: Various embodiments of an apparatus and method for dispensing elongated material, such as tape, from a spool of such material are disclosed. In one embodiment, a dispenser includes a rotatable spindle for supporting a first spool of material and a feedback mechanism for providing a controlled braking force to the spindle in response to changes in tension in the material being dispensed. The dispenser also can include another spindle for supporting a second spool of material. The trailing end portion of material from the first spool can be spliced to the leading end portion of material from the second spool to provide a continuous feed of material between the spools.

Abstract: An automatic web winding system for creating a registered perforated web stock roll, from a perforated web, that includes a web leader, a web trailer, and a die assembly that creates the web leader of a first web stock roll and the web trailer of a second web stock roll. A winding assembly automatically wraps and cinches the web trailer to an associated core prior to forming the second web stock roll; and a core loader assembly automatically loads a core onto the winding assembly and transfers the web trailer to winding assembly.

Abstract: A dispenser provides a roll support with a belt attachment for mounting to a belt during use. Rolls of crepe paper streamer are engaged on the roll support. The support has a notch for securing ends of the rolls and may have a cutter for severing the streamers as they are unwound from the rolls. A tape dispenser is also engaged with the support for dispensing tape for tacking the streamers to the walls of a room.

Abstract: A decorative cover for containing a roll of a flexible sheet material, such as a paper web product, and dispensing lengths of the flexible sheet material from the roll. The decorative cover includes a tubular sidewall with opposite open ends through either of which the roll may be inserted into an at least partially concealed position within the sidewall and a longitudinal slot through which the paper web product may be dispensed from the roll when the roll is positioned in the at least partially concealed position.

Abstract: A structural mechanism for an aircraft includes a support, a hinged surface, and a hinge assembly joining the hinged surface to the support. An actuation system includes an actuator shaft engaged to the hinges and lying coincident with a hinged-surface hinge axis and extending through the aligned center passagways of the hinges of the hinge assembly. A lock is selectively operable to lock the hinged surface to the support when the actuator shaft engages the lock. An actuator structure is controllably operable to move the actuator shaft longitudinally along the hinge-surface hinge axis between a first shaft axial position wherein the actuator shaft engages the lock and the hinges, and a second shaft axial position wherein the actuator shaft does not engage the lock but does engage the hinges, and is controllably operable to rotate the actuator shaft about the hinged-surface hinge axis.

Abstract: The present development relates to an improved wing having a tip tank assembly. The tip tank assembly is attached to a distal end of an outer wing section. The tip tank assembly includes a tank, a pair of mounting brackets and a fairing assembly. The fairing assembly includes a nose piece, a central piece, a tail piece, an inner end plate, and an upper close out piece. The inner end plate extends perpendicularly downward from a lower surface of the outer wing section eventually terminating at a bottom portion of the central piece. The inner end plate acts as an air dam to trap high pressure air that is generated during flight, substantially increasing the lift of the wing. Lastly, the upper close out piece extends between an upper wing surface and an upper portion of the central piece increasing the overall wingspan of the aircraft.

Abstract: Aerospace vehicle leading edge slat devices and corresponding methods are generally disclosed herein. One aspect of the invention is directed toward an aerospace vehicle system that includes an airfoil having a leading edge. The system further includes a first flow body fixedly coupled to the airfoil to form at least one gap between the leading edge of the airfoil and the first flow body. A second flow body can be coupled to the airfoil and can be movable between at least a retracted position where the second flow body is positioned to at least approximately aerodynamically seal the at least one gap, and an extended position where the second flow body is positioned to allow fluid flow through the at least one gap.

The end (39) of the finger (37) is opposed to an area of the holder (30) having a spring element (44) in contact with the outside of the tension band (1). A lock (42) secures the finger (37) in its position of engagement. After installation of the tension band (1), the holder (30) may be attached to the tension band (1) in a plurality of locations.

Abstract: A refuse container retainer includes an elongated member, defining an open chamber, that is screwed in to the ground. A collar attached atop the elongated member has a central opening extending the chamber, a base plate adjacent a top portion of the elongated member, and opposed flanges positioned above the base plate. A telescoping upright member seats in the chamber and extends through the collar. The base plate contacts the ground halting embedding of the elongated member and the cover plate conceals it and the upright member to which it is attached. Lifting the cover plate also lifts the upright member to receive a refuse container turned upside down. The refuse container rests on the ground over the cover plate and upright member.

Abstract: A magnetic holder for holding a non-magnetic sheet against a magnetically attractive surface contains a body having a first end and a second end, an upper surface and a lower surface. The body is formed from a first material having a first co-efficient of friction. The lower surface has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is joined to the second portion at a fulcrum line that defines an obtuse angle between the first portion and the second portion for preventing the first and second portions from engaging the magnetically attractive surface simultaneously. A magnet member is disposed on the second portion for magnetically coupling the holder to the magnetically attractive surface. A first gripping member is disposed on the second portion for frictionally gripping the non-magnetic sheet.

Abstract: An apparatus with a first and second loaf spring portions extending from a bridge portion, the second leaf spring portion provides an article support mounting aperture for attachment of an article support to the second leaf spring portion by structure for attaching said article support, and additional structure for securing the article support to the second leaf spring portion is disclosed. In a first embodiment, the article support is a towel ring, the structure for attaching the towel ring to the second leaf spring portion includes a shaft extending from a distal end of a post, and a retention groove formed at a distal end of the shaft. The additional structure for securing the shaft to the second leaf spring portion includes: a compression spring enclosing the shaft and interposed between the second leaf spring portion and the post; and a fastener affixed to the retention groove.

Abstract: Described is a corner extension mounting system used to secure a net system to buildings or structures that have obstructions such as corners. The corner extension mounting system easily and quickly attaches to a floor beam or other structure around the perimeter of a building or structure. The corner extension mounting system includes a mounting bracket, a corner extension, a support bracket, and a cantilever arm. The mounting bracket is adjustable and also reinforces the corner extension and the support bracket. The support bracket attaches to two cantilever arms that are positioned perpendicularly around the corner of a building. The cantilever arms are attached to the support bracket with pivot pins that allow the cantilever arms to rotate. A debris net is suspended between the upper end of the cantilever arm and the building. Among other things, the corner extension mounting system allows for easy installation of a net system around a building or structure undergoing construction or maintenance.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for adjustably mounting tracks that suspend horizontal sliding doors at a freight elevator landing. The apparatus comprises a plurality of brackets adapted to be mounted in the shaft on the header above the landing opening. The brackets are each secured to the header with anchor bolts. Each anchor bolt is set in the header but initially allows vertical movement of the bracket. An adjusting screw, carried on each bracket, is arranged to easily and precisely move the bracket up or down relative to the anchor bolt as needed to position the tracks and, therefore, the door panels at a proper height. Once adjusted such that a specified gap is established between the lower edges of the door panels and the threshold, each anchor bolt can be tightened to fix its respective bracket in its adjusted position.

Abstract: A pinch valve for regulating fluid flow includes a close mechanism for closing a sleeve by pinching its sides together. The pinch valve also includes an open mechanism integral with the close mechanism for opening the tube by urging the sides apart. The open mechanism pushes against the ends of the closure in the sleeve as the tube is being opened. In one embodiment of the invention open cams push against the end of the closure, and in another embodiment open followers, which are part of a four bar linkage, push against the sides of the sleeve.

Abstract: A non-refillable valve is provided that allows for an initial filling of a container, but prevents subsequent refilling of the container. In one embodiment, the valve includes a valve core having a retaining means for maintaining the valve core in an open or non-sealing position to allow flow through the valve and filling of the container. The valve core may then be advanced to seal the container, and subsequently selectively operated to discharge the container as desired. Further refilling of the container is prevented by the force of fluid reentering the valve which forces the valve core to its seated engagement with the valve seat.

Abstract: A coaxial valve includes a valve box having an inlet opening, an outlet opening, and a common flow channel. An axially movable cylindrical valve casing has an opening for a fluid inlet port and an opening for a fluid outlet port, both of which are joined up in the flow channel. A coaxially positioned shutoff mechanism located inside the valve box closes off the inlet port or the outlet port of the valve casing. To provide for axial movement, the valve casing has at least one external circular groove. The drive casing has at least one inner circular groove, which is adapted to the outer circular groove so that the inner and outer grooves are engaged, via inside ball bearings, to create a ball planetary gear and ball rotary spindle drive. The drive casing is turnable and forced to turn by a drive motor inside of the valve box.

Abstract: In accordance with the teachings of the present invention, a shut-off valve is disclosed that has particular application for opening and closing a high pressure compressed gas storage tank. In one embodiment, the valve includes a single sealing member and a bellows. High pressure is provided at inlet port to one side of the sealing member and a bellows chambers so that both sides of the sealing member are at high pressure to provide equalization. A spring bias is the sealing member against a valve seat in one direction. An electromagnetic coil is energized to draw the sealing member away from the valve seat against the bias of the spring.

Abstract: Underground water valves having square operating nuts, such as but not limited to critical water valves which control different pressure zones or different demand areas, are secured by a shielding cap, each of which have a recess that receives a valve operating nut and a cylindrical projection which frustrates attempts to rotate the operating nut. When an authorized person decides to open or close one of the valves, the shielding cap is retrieved from the operating nut by a retrieving head which has the socket defined by a frustoconical recess. Within the recess are a pair of opposed pins which seat in J-shaped slots in the frustoconical projection. Upon rotating the retrieving head, the pins move into alignment with open ends of the J-shaped slots, down shank portions of the slots and abut closed ends of the slots so that the shielding cap may be pulled from the valve operating nut and withdrawn through the valve operating box.

Abstract: A fence having tubular rails, tubular pickets and tubular posts formed from pultruded fiberglass has several advantageous features. Lightweight fiberglass components are very strong and will not rust like metal fencing and do not require frequent maintenance like wood fencing. Pultruded fiberglass components are easy to manufacture and transport and the finished fence can be assembled using conventional fasteners. Once formed the components of this fence system can be bundled in easy to ship sets for assembly in the field. The fence system adapts well to difficult yards to fence because it can be modified with conventional hand tools.

The membrane (12) is divided into a hydrophilic membrane (12a) and a water vapor permeable and water impermeable membrane (12b). The heat exchange element is a perforated metal plate (14) and/or a heating resistance. A method for the conditioning of breathing air includes the steps of: supplying through the inlet opening non treated breathing air, passively humidifying the supplied air through the passive humidifier, and actively humidifying the breathing air, through the active humidifier of a device.

Abstract: An air spring assembly is mounted to a shock absorber to form a strut assembly. The shock absorber includes an outer cylinder with an internal piston and piston rod mounted within the outer cylinder. The piston rod is mounted to a vehicle frame member and the outer cylinder is mounted to a vehicle wheel. The air spring assembly includes a flexible member and an air spring piston that is supported by the outer cylinder. One end of the air spring piston is crimped around the flexible member to form a sealed attachment interface between the outer cylinder and the flexible member.

Abstract: A damping spring assembly particularly but not exclusively useful for damping the motion of rake wheels in agricultural wheel rakes. The damping spring includes a pair of extended U-bolts and a coil compression spring. The extended U-bolts are connected to spring holder bushings which bear on the ends of the coil compression spring. As the coil compression spring is compressed, a constrained resilient damping rod located within the extended shafts of the extended U-bolts is likewise compressed in length and expands in diameter to bear against the extended shafts of the extended U-bolts, thus providing a damping action to prevent snapping back of the damping spring.

A linear actuator is mounted on the base and adapted to generate a linear vibratory force that is amplified by the elastic amplifier thereby to move the bed in a vibratory motion, so that the work material moves in response to the vibratory motion of the bed.

When pressure in the pressure-receiving chamber increases, the movable member is displaced or deformed toward to close the equilibrium-chamber-side opening of the short passage to have the short passage substantially closed, while when pressure in the pressure-receiving chamber decreases, the movable member is displaced or deformed to have the short passage operative.

The clamp includes a first jaw that is secured to an intermediate member, such as a bar or pipe, and a second jaw that is removeably securable to the intermediate member so as to selectively oppose the first jaw. The second jaw includes a surface thereon that is configured to interlock with a complimentarily-shaped surface on a second jaw of the second clamp.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are shown for fileting fish. The apparatus includes a retaining pan and a pair of support elements capable of spanning the width of the pan interior by attachment to the opposing outer edges of the pan. The support elements have retaining elements which are used to securely afix a cutting board to the support elements. Once assembled, the cutting board creates an ideal location to filet a fish while allowing the fluids discharged from the fish to flow over the edges of the board and collect into the surrounding retaining pan.

Abstract: The present invention is embodied in a separator sheet handling assembly 10 that includes a lifting assembly 20 adapted to receive a pallet 12 containing a stack of separator sheets 14. The lifting assembly 20 positions the stack of separator sheets 14 into a predetermined location where a feed assembly 30 engages a separator sheet 16 positioned at the top of the stack of separator sheets 14. The feed assembly 30 removes the separator sheet 16 and transports it to a test assembly 50 where the separator sheet 16 is monitored for a particular characteristic such as cleanliness or structural integrity. The separator sheet 16 is delivered to a first storage assembly 60 if the separator sheet 16 has the particular characteristic, or a second storage assembly 70 if the separator sheet 16 does not include the particular characteristic.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for aligning at least the front edge of several sheets arranged in a stack, one above the other, whilst maintaining the order of the sheets. Said device comprises a stacking table, one side of which is provided with a front edge stop for aligning the front edge of the sheets. A supporting platform, upon which a stack of sheets can be placed with non-aligned front edges, is arranged upstream of the stacking table. A count of cards within specified areas of the card handling system is maintained and card handling is halted and all cards counted by adding a count of all cards not within the specified areas to the total of cards counted within the specified areas.

In another embodiment of the invention, the bowling ball carrier may include removably attached panels to facilitate the placement of embroidery on the panels. In another aspect of the invention, a pouch with a resilient, elastic portion may be used to transport a bowling ball, and may be attached to the cart frame, allowing easy access to and removal of the ball from the pouch without having to remove the pouch from the cart frame.
